Wine Maniacs Wine Bar & Bistro - Oconomowoc
Excellent wine, excellent food, and outstanding service every time we go.
If you enjoy good wine and wine enthusiasts, this is the place for you. Jeff does his homework well.
The food was excellent and the service was great. The only issue we had was the price. It was rather pricey for what you get. I think at least including a salad would be reasonable. Plus provide some crackers or something similar with the wine tasting.
Great! Love Tara and owner Jeff.
Totally enjoy every time we eat here. Relaxed. Helpful. Delish.
25th wedding anniversary
Waitress asked me if she could get me a drink and the oder of cigaret was over whelming . We ordered each a glass of wine and then ordered a bottle of wine for dinner . She imediatley brought the bottle of white out before we started our glass . Cool sleve was warm. Wife had fish which was “good” my scampi was rookie and for desert we shared a shame .... tort that would of needed a meat cleaver to penetrate and get thiis 2 i say 2 strawberries
Do t bother ..........go to mc D’s ans share a bottle if your fav
Waitress claimed to speak Martian and seemed to be out of it. She wreaked of cigarette smoke after coming back to our table. The food was great as always and it was great hanging w friends.
Pros: Great wine selections, knowledgeable staff, Wine Club adds a great value, fantastic desserts and apps. Cons: Cob webs (lots) around windows and all over outdoor furniture, small entrees (good for me, not my husband).
But would let them know food was good but seemed a bit overpriced. They do give a good sized sample if you want to try a wine. Our server Ivy was very good
Monthly "date night" at Wine Maniacs. The monthly 3-course wine pairings menu is always amazing. Service is excellent. Can't wait to go back next month!
My husband and I had a "Top Notch" Saturday lunch dining experience at Wine Maniacs. The weather was perfect, which allowed us to dine on the outdoor patio in the beautiful sunshine. Our waiter, Rich, was very attentive and friendly.
We each ordered the lunch special with 1/2 of day's sandwich and a cup of soup. I had the white chicken chili, and my husband ordered the tomato veggie soup, which were both excellent. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a bottle of the 2016 Napa Cellars Cabernet; with enough left over for our dinner at home.
All in all, a great dining experience!!
Loved this! Yummy food and great wine. Service was amazing!
Always wonderful. Tara and the Staff are amazing
Sampled six different wines with helpful descriptions from our server. She also helped us pair our wine with dinner. Not many diners for a Friday evening, but the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Before purchasing my Dine4Less I checked out the menu at Wine Maniacs. After I made the purchase and we decided to us the certificate we were surprised to see the menu had changed and the prices had gone up considerably. $20 of a hamburger is not acceptable. Waiter was nice but we just ordered enough to fulfill the minimum on the certificate and went down the road to eat dinner.
Great as always! Thanks Terra!
I especially enjoy the wine and food pairings! They are superb!
Jami, our server was extremely knowledgeable and personable. She gave us the full experience we were hoping for!
The pairing meal was exceptional!
The ambiance was comfortable and inviting.
We will be back!
Great service, wonderful wine list and excellent food!
We come here every month for an evening of good food, good conversation (the waitstaff are all wonderful!), and most importantly GOOD WINE!
Amazing wine bar. Plenty to choose from with help from an experienced staff. Delicious meal and cozy atmosphere
Outstanding service and knowledge of staff. Very helpful and accommodating.
We had excellent service and delicious food. Our first time at Wine Maniacs and definitely will return.
We will definitely be back, hopefully soon, and often. The menu is very small, but apparently ever changing. Everything we tried was excellently prepared. I had lambchops, which were a perfect rare and delicately seasoned. My wife had a chicken marsala, the best marsala I've ever tried. The flavors were well balanced and complex.
As the name implies, they have wine. They brought several wines to taste with each corse. We let them stear, and they did not disappoint.
Our server was engaged, with a touch of sass.
They never rushed us, dinner took just over three hours. I'm sure they will pick up the pace if you are short on time, but the pace was perfect to truly enjoy a meal.
Server (Quinn) was great. Food took forever and was just ok. Ambience left a lot to be desired. There was a nice cozy, fireplace spot. Any tables away from there sub par. Tables, chairs cheap. Could “warm up” the spot and it’d go a long way.
Excellent food and knowledgable staff, always a fun evening!
They offer an extensive wine list and seem very knowledgeable around it. Unfortunately, the food was good, but not great. I ordered The Roman which was very dry. My husbands steak though was pretty good. We started with the cheese and charcuterie board and bruschetta trio which were both very good. For the prices I was hoping for great or at least very good food.
Everything was fine with the exception of a waitress that wanted to tell us all about her personal life including pictures of her dog on her phone. I went out to dinner to have conversations with the people at my table. She was friendly, but that was not the experience I was looking for. Also, a number of times I mentioned I was interested in the wine club and I thought someone would take the opportunity to tell me more about it. You missed the mark on this one. Not impressed.
The menu did not offer variety, and really no items without carbs.
I went here for a birthday meal with my boyfriend. We were beyond happy with our server, the food, and the wine. Everyone was extremely friendly and the staff was very knowledgeable.
If you are into good food and good wine then this is your go to place. Your server will be knowledgeable about the wines and will offer pairings for the food you’ve ordered. You might as well sign up for their wine club too. So much more than the wine.
We enjoyed the wine samples offered and suggested by our waitress.
Jamie was so great!! Loved the atmosphere here! I had the nutty goat salad and it was very good. Great wine selections!
Always a favorite for food and wine experience! Love the staff!
We've been here several times and the food is very well prepared and the service is great. The staff is knowledgeable and personable.
Another splendid meal ! The perfectly executed beef tenderloin dish combined with the cooler outside temps was the perfect harbinger to the changing season !
My family and I heard about Wine Maniacs on WISN and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised that both owners were on site and visiting with each table. Our server, Tara, was beyond fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the wine, the food and the kitchen. She had a great attitude and went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience. On our way home we came to the realization that, beside the great food and wine, the experience was above all, FUN.
Wine Maniacs never disappoints. Our food was particularly great and the servers are well educated in all things wine.
Tonight's dinner was one of the best meals my husband and I have had in a long time. This unpretentious restaurant in a sleepy outer suburb of Milwaukee competes with some of the best farm to table restaurants in Minneapolis where we dine regularly.
The cheese board offered something I haven't seen elsewhere: choice. You pick the exact cheeses you want from a list to create a custom selection of tasty creamy goodness. We enjoyed a very light bubbly white Argentinian wine with the cheese, and were given a generous sample before committing to full glass orders.
Appetizers continued with a baked brie/preserves combo and locally sourced mushrooms that were huge -- a bit unusual but a nice change from the typical mushroom presentation.
For entrees I had an amazing ravioli with beets and goat cheese. My husband had a different pasta with chicken. It was extremely fresh. By this time we were already full and it was hard to handle more. But the waitress offered us a sample of the restaurant's flatbread and a sip of chocolate wine. We ended up buying a bottle for home, since the restaurant doubles as a wine store.
And then there was the tiramisu. I've had it many places and it definitely ranks in the top 5 I've ever had.
Our server was very attentive, explaining the food and wine selections with enthusiastic detail. If there is any criticism to offer, I'd say it's the slightly long wait time we experienced for appetizers, and the timing we had between appetizers and entrees. This appeared to be a kitchen rather than server issue.
Overall a terrific experience that we will recommend to our friends who visit the greater Milwaukee area. We will definitely be back!
