Winter Garden, Outdoor, at The Bermondsey Bar & Kitchen
Sadly many of the items on the already reduced Covid menu were not available on the day which was very disappointing. The waitress did her best was clearly overwhelmed on the day. Most of the dishes we ordered were inexplicably drenched in a watery gravy - veal schnitzel, cous-cous it just didn't work and was probably left over from the Sunday Roast which wasn't actually available :0(
We had an outside table which was undercover and heated. However, the fake grass floor covering turned out to be wet so our bags & coats were soaked through.
All in all not the best experience on the day.
When we arrived they said that they had overbooked and didn’t have a table for us. After 15 mins of waiting they managed to ‘squeeze’ another in. Our booking was at 8pm, we were only shown our table at 8.15pm. No service or menus for over 10 mins, at 8.25pm we were shown where to find the menu. At 8.35pm we tried to order pizza and were told no because the ‘kitchens are too busy to finish orders by 10pm’. So disappointing.
Nice atmosphere but pricey - £6.50 for a pint!
Friendly service with good food. Took us before our booked time but weren’t rushed out.
Would visit again and recommend to others.
Lovely. Felt very safe with the Covid-19 restrictions.
Great food, really friendly staff. Very relaxed, no rush to finish and leave. Best steak I have had for a long time. Great to see people out and about supporting local businesses and observing the COVID rules.
Great staff, but cold though outside.
We were there for London Cocktail month. One of the party wasn’t drinking and they made a mocktail especially and charged us less for it. It was really helpful and appreciated. Great service.
Cool vibe in a venue ample enough not to have been ruined by the dreaded two meter rule!
The staff were phenomenal. High energy, friendly and had great chat! Had a really enjoyable experience.
Great reception, great service, great food and reasonably priced.
Lovely food but very cold inside
fantastic sharing plates especially the Thai salmon- "to die for"
V well located near London Bridge Station
We didn’t eat but had a fab eve. Service was great and very attentive and loved the atmosphere
What a superb lunch - the food was excellent. COVID-19 makes everything weird, so everyone is making the best of a bad situation. thank you to chef, staff and the kitchen for a super lunch - the sharing plates we had were word class. Can not recommend the Thai salmon salad more highly! Unbelievably good.
Very good food... social media doesn’t do the food justice- it was WAAYYYY better than what was expected - I’m already planning my next meet up with friends at this restaurant. Also they kept up with all the Covid rules - make sure you download the test and trace app ahead of your arrival as well 😉
After making this initial booking on Monday 21st September, and then altering on Friday I had booked and always expected a table inside the restaurant (the weather forecast for the week was not looking good sitting outside didn’t seem viable)
Upon my arrival at the your restaurant on Friday night I was told that our table was outside. I spoke to the lady on the door and she herself admitted that our table, at my request upon booking, should be inside. Of course, as you can imagine at 7:00 PM on a Friday night, and now with the new laws in place, a table for 6 was now impossible. Although I understand at this stage nothing could be done, apart from take the table outside when the weather was freezing and slightly raining, I was little taken back by how your staff handled the situation. To note, I received a nonchalant apology and simply moved to the side when other customers arrived.
Of course, my friends and I could not find another restaurant to dine in, and we ended our night earlier than expected.
With that said, I understand we are in difficult times, and the hospitality industry is working hard to resurface but please do try an retain the customers you do have by looking after them and being polite when you mess up their booking.
I love the staff
Great atmosphere. Nice to be outside but not in the direct sun. Well signposted one way system and good track and trace requirements. Lovely staff, good drinks and great food.
Great service - allowed us to extend reservation which was much appreciated.
Excellent service and food. My only issue is that a bottle of Prosecco is over £40 - literally the most expensive Prosecco I have ever purchased!!
This is a great place for outside food and drinks. Lovely environment, good vibe with friendly staff and customers. Dog friendly too! Drinks are expensive but it’s London so go figure. Do great pizzas.
Great service and food
Great food. Friendly service. Excellent Covid preps. The only downside was a really noisy group who rather spoiled the ambience.
Not too busy but still a nice vibe.
Service was good but the food could have been a bit better one of our burgers was pretty under done and I like my meat rare but overall an ok night out.
Food was on great, little bit of everything for choice. Served quickly. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Great place to go for a casual lunch and a drink
Everything was fine until a member of my party went to the ladies toilets. She reported that they were 'disgusting' and was keen to leave the restaurant as soon as possible. We therefore left without having dessert or coffee. I didn't go to the toilet myself but my friend's reaction was disconcerting.
Visited for some drinks with a friend on bank holiday Monday. We felt super safe in the bar as all of the tables were properly spaced out, staff wearing masks etc. The drinks were very yummy and well priced. All in a all a great day!
Fab bank holiday lunch spot with loads of outside space and proper track and trace system 👍🏼
What a lovely place! I just moved to London and the best gin and tonic that first month in the city! And the food made my day!!!
Eat out to help scheme was properly not executed. Otherwise great food !
Was really nice but the umbrella didn’t help to get wet
Very accomadating and great service. Definitely will be back. Got a nice table inside and pizza was amazing
Great from start to finish. Unfortunately the wet weather meant we couldn’t sit outside in the beautiful yard but the inside was great too.
It’s a noisy space with hard surfaces everywhere but that added to the vibe.
The food was amazing. The vegan options although limited were superb.
Can’t wait to go again. And so handy as right beside London Bridge railway station.
The food was really good but the drinks are very expensive, especially when they add service on every single one. £7.47 for a pint is extortionate! I don't mind paying service on a total bill of food and drinks but when ordering individual drinks it's a bit much when you don't have the option to go to the bar yourself. Other bars in the area are offering table service on drinks without service charge.
Simply terrible from start to finish. Terrible service, took 45 minutes to even order food. Food was average at best. No coronavirus distancing, no gloves, no face masks. Criminal.
Our table was occupied still , we were sat at temporary table and forgot about . Not enough staff for bookings being taken
Felt very safe with all the measures put in place. Great outdoor space! Food excellent. Staff were excellent, very knowledgeable on the food and suggested some tasty sharing dishes. Will definitely be coming back again! Great spot in London Bridge!
Placed at table right next to glass rubbish bin so plenty of clinging noises over already loud music. Food took 45mn to arrive and then only 3/4 dishes arrived, last one took another 15mn and then turned out to be the wrong order ! To be fair we did get a refund for the dish and round of drinks - but not exactly the evening we had planned
Other than the one member of staff that was doing table service they were all incredibly rude and unhelpful, non of them wear masks or appear to understand social distancing. The men's bathroom was an absolute state. I ordered a pizza which did taste good, but at £16 it's way too pricey, definitely not better than Franco Manca (on the same street) and their pizzas are a lot better value for money. Big shame as I remember coming here in the past when things were a lot more positive. After this last experience I would not recommend a visit.
