The Wintergarden at Hydro Majestic Blue Mountains
Delicious high tea and sweeping views of the valley.
Amazing views, lovely setting. Really enjoyed the food
The view was spectacular as was the High Tea to celebrate a special
girls weekend away.
The hotel is absolutely stunning and the views are gorgeous.
Service was good without being obtrusive. High Tea ( we had Western & Eastern) was delicious and filling. Great variety of offerings. The view - unbelievably entertaining. A great experience
Beautiful restaurant, great food.
We also got free desert for my husband’s birthday.
Great for special occasions.
Always a pleasant dining experience. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious.
Took hubby here for his 35th Birthday and was amazed by the lovely service from Jonathon and the lovely piano playing. We really enjoyed the food and the slight adjustments made for my pregnancy, we look forward to coming back when it’s not so foggy for the views!
Good food overall. For dinner menu, suggest to have a la cart instead of set menu only.
Very nice ambience at the venue, and the weather was superb that day so we got a nice mountain view from where we are seated. The staffs are very friendly and attentive too. We enjoyed the food and had a really great experience and time overall. Would definitely revisit and recommend.
We waited with much anticipation for weeks it didn't disappoint just wonderful the service and food were beautiful the view Breathtaking. We are saving now for a stay in one of there rooms. If you do one thing please go 🥰
A magnificent building with significant history, the outlook through the magical windows frames the view in spectacular fashion. The service during the meal from “Adrian” was personalised and joyful. The food unfortunately did not meet our expectations by far...... the octopus entree was tasty, but lacked energy on the plate. Beef brisket for main required more jus - served extra on the side - as was dry and chewy. The prawn dish was overcooked - creating a purée type feel in the mouth, not appetising at all. We chose not to have dessert.
Beautiful food and wonderful views. Service was excellent. A must do visit when in the Blue Mountains.
My Wife’s 60th which I had advised when I booked us into a room and the restaurant. There was a letter recognising her 60th but that was where it stopped.
The young waiter for us at the restaurant, Jason, was polite and reasonably friendly. He had no idea it was a ‘special occasion’ for us until he asked after our Main. Full credit to him that he organised a complimentary dessert for us to share that included a chocolate plaque with Happy Birthday written in icing on it.
Apart from that very small positive experience, our stay at the ‘HM’ was an absolute disaster from the time we arrived until the minute we left and destroyed all the goodwill built up through a family gathering in Canowindra over the weekend prior to our HM disaster.
I would be happy to elaborate to anyone that was willing to listen and actually do something with that feedback.
Thank you, Peter Spring and Frances Williams.
The high tea was amazing. Everything I hoped for. Service was exemplary and the view amazing.
Had a wonderful time at the Wintergarden while enjoying scrumptious High Tea. The service and atmosphere both were very relaxing and enjoyable. Would highly recommend attending on weekday as weekends can get very busy and crowded.
Absolutely breathtaking, exceptional food and friendly service.
Lovely staff, very accommodating to our dietry needs. Beautiful view and ambience!
The service could have been better.
We opted for the Asian High Tea. The selection of food was good and varied. The quantity was adequate. The tea and coffee were good. The view into the Megalong Valley is superb. Service was very good. We have sampled many
High Teas and this is one of the best.
Need to consider people who have had gastric bypass that cannot eat standard adult meal smaller serves at cheaper price
Nice food but extremely expensive for what was provided. The general service staff were indifferent and were apparently unaware of server etiquette, particularly when leaning across diners to serve and placing crockery on the floor before taking it away.
The table service and the food was fabulous. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive. When we went to pay the lady on the register was very rude in her mannerisms and her conversation.
Food is poor, and very overpriced, we had a high tea and dinner when we stayed.
Lovely menu. Food was delicious and service was good. Overall a nice experience.
A small solitary piece of fish was dinner !. My partners meal was 4 prawns on a plate !
I had to pay an additional $20 for some side vegie's and potatoes even though the menu advertised a 2 course meal for $75.
The food prices are at the higher end of the scale but the quality of the food was definitely at the lower/average end. Our dinner was tasteless and very disappointing. If you want to charge Sydney city prices for seafood then at least make sure you are providing fresh seafood and not something that tastes like its been in a fridge for many days or been thawed from frozen. Seriously, someone should be having a very hard long look at charging customers top dollar for average quality seafood. I wanted to send it back to the kitchen but my partner didn't want to make a fuss over it
Not once did any staff member come over and ask how everything was, or if we needed anything. There for an hour and a half over dinner and not one single staff member checked on us, appalling service for the prices you charge, For almost $200 I expected a lot more than this for dinner. Absolute rip off but the restaurant ambiance was nice.
Breakfast was very average and well over priced. The default coffee available for breakfast was sachet coffee, that you had to make yourself, and the default breakfast eggs were sloppy runny scrambled eggs and the bacon was hardly cooked. the toast supplied by staff was basically heated bread and not fully toasted. Has to ask for it to be re-toasted. Staff in general seemed disinterested and not aware of what 'service' means.
However, The room was very nice and is the venue in general is very nice with loads of ambiance and character. My visit was for my partners birthday and whilst the venue was lovely, the service and food were ordinary. My concerns about this caused friction between my partner and myself as she didn't want me to raise any of this with the venue during our stay. I cant recommend the Hydro for a stay.
It was a wonderful occasion and we were lucky to have a window seat with views to die for.
It was worth the wonderful experience my children were overwhelmed
Good service. Nice view. But if you go to restaurants for the food then this not the place for you. We had the Eastern High Tea which consisted of frozen deep-fried crab claw, truly terrible dumplings and tasteless desserts. Nice view though.
Great food, fabulous decor, very good service & outstanding view.
The Wintergarden is truly a delightful experience. I really enjoyed the Gluten free high tea. However, the young waiter did not understand the word vegetarian for all three orders and the kitchen staff did not understand this either. A number of the cakes on the kids high tea were too rich. It all looked beautiful. We had to request more drinks. Half way through, they should be asking us. As a hospitality teacher I would be ashamed if a waiter appeared with a dirty jacket. Yet our waiter did.
We enjoyed high tea for our 20th wedding anniversary and from the greeting to the farewells the staff were extremely attentive. The high tea was a high standard with everything fresh and tasty with choices for all tastes and dietary requirements. I would and have recommended this to family and friends.
Great view, too much food, but a lovely family treat!
Gorgeous room and view with a delicious high tea that was very filling.
The eastern high tea was delicious and made better with the personalised birthday desert plate!
It was my partner’s birthday
We came out for a romantic evening but were disappointed with limited menu options and overpriced (and overcooked) side of broccoli. Our mains and the zucchini flower entree were great quality, however. Friendly efficient service.
I was dining alone as there was no other option at the Hydro Majestic. Paid $75.00 for 2 course meal of snapper fillet & cheese board. The snapper was about the size of my iphone with nothing else, so had to then pay $10.00 for a bowl of broccoli. The meal was tasty, however it would not touch the sides of a man's stomach, luckily I chose the cheese board to fill me up. You are obviously paying for the location and view. The service was good.
