Chive Spaetzle, Grilled Gem Lettuce, Chimichurri
Butter Braised Onions, Hand-Cut Fries, Tomato Relish
Tasty but overpriced. Nice ambience. We probably would not go back.
Best restaurant in town! Love that they highlight all the farmers and sources of their amazing food.
At last, food worthy of its setting. Everything about this place is outstanding. The ingredients were fresh, the preparations innovative, the portions not too big. In other words, perfection. The mushroom pie was outstanding, flavorful and full of delicious roasted vegetables in addition to the mushrooms. The housemade rum raisin ice cream was an added treat to a delicious peach crisp.
This is easily the Best restaurant in Hudson. Plus they stay open late!
Meticulously prepared dishes are unpretentiouly served assuring a pleasant dining experience. Their good selection of wines is a plus.
Oysters and cocktails were excellent and our server was friendly and attentive. Main courses were a little disappointing though, particularly the popular burger — the onions lacked flavor and werw
One of the best restaurants in Hudson, NY. Outstanding combination of flavors and food presentation
Service and food was impeccable.
Service was very good, wait staff very friendly and hard working. It was just a little slow and the restaurant was not that busy as we had a 5:30 reservation. They sat us in their new location which meant they were bringing all the food and drinks from their original location. Give a lot of credit to the staff who had to lug everything up. This translated to our food and drinks taking a long time to get to us. Food was good, not the best meal I ever had, but enjoyable. The oysters were on the small side and just ok. The country ham plate was delicious, in particular the pepper jelly and biscuits. I had the dry aged NY Strip which was good, but over salted. Definitely not worth the $75 per plate. My fault for not asking what the MP was. For that price I wish I could say it was the best steak of my life! My son had the duck confit which he said was excellent. Other folks had the trout which they enjoyed as well.
The dining room was lovely, it was the former common space of the hotel. There was a big kitchen and it felt like I was visiting someone’s home for dinner, very quaint. Would maybe visit again for drinks and appetizers but it was very pricey for a meal that was just slightly above average.
Brandade de morue with roasted marrow bone a slightly weird combination, brandade not salt-coddy enough. Other dishes very nice. Dessert menu too limited to interest us. Wine list nice.
My expectations were extremely high, and, frankly, it was a bit of a disappointment. The service was mediocre, which set the tone for the evening. The octopus dish was tasty, but an outrageously tiny ripoff. (The mounds of sweet potatoes that hovered everywhere — casting long shadows — did not even try to disguise their role as “filler” on the plate.) The duck confit was unconscionably salty, masking any flavor the bird might have been trying to impart.
Very pleasant atmosphere, fine service, but portions were small. My wife had the trout and salt was the only seasoning she detected. The giant prawns were superb but again the portion was small.
maybe we went too late (9pm reservations) maybe it was an off night. the carrot appetizer was great. the drinks were great as was the wine and service. the crudo was a bit fishy, the oysters lacked flavor, my wife’s shrimp dish was over salty and not worth the hefty price tag (zero issues paying for food) and my burger was flavorless. was not happy with the meal and would have gladly paid more for a better food experience. heard great things about this place but i did not experience them.
2nd time here. The green salad had an interesting herbal dressing. However, the side salad that came with the duck comfit was inedible because the dressing had too much vinegar.
The duck itself was delicious. The oysters were fresh and tasty.
Good ambiance, attentive waitress
Excellent bar, wine choices, cocktails with focus on shaped ice for each drink. Biscuits were cooked perfectly, with a flakey middle and crisp top. The prawns were too: spicy, salty, oily. The dish needed a place to rest and the soupy saucy salty grits did not offer that.
Delicious meal with excellent service. Great, creative cocktails. But, a side of creamed spinach arrives and it is served puréed? How do you even eat that, it’s not quite soup and not quite a veggie side? Otherwise, we were quite pleased. The Steak was perfect.
I can’t recommend this place enough. Every course was just incredible. The tavern steak and prawn entrees were bursting with flavor. The server recommended a great Cabernet to go with the steak. The cocktails were excellent and varied. Great options for whiskey, liqueurs, and dessert cocktails too. The cheesecake dessert was unlike anything we’ve had before. It was simply one of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted. I will remember this meal for a long time. Absolutely worth every cent. Service was excellent too. 10 out 10.
Love wm Farmer and Sons. The cocktails and food are amazing. Staff terrific. Love.
Beautiful restaurant. We had never been to Hudson and the restaurant seems to fall within the aesthetic of the town. The food is flavorful but lacking either in temperature, quantity, or salt. For the price we paid, I expected the biscuits and bone marrow to be warm when arriving to the table. My grits needed some salt and while the cocktails were strong,I wish their description was more accurate to their taste. Not sure I’ll be returning when I’m in Hudson.
From the charming host Corey, to the amazing bartender Sean (we sat at the bar) to the wonderful food, it was such an enjoyable experience. Our favorite place in Hudson.
The supervisor(?) felt it necessary to reprimand the young host in front of line of people waiting to be seated. It made us all very uncomfortable, wasted time & most important, humiliated the young employee.
Our host Corey was fantastic! And of course the food and drink was top notch.
The experience was amazing! The staff was attentive and the food was very flavorful
Fantastic food, friendly, attentive staff. We love this restaurant and go as often as we can manage. The new second space is charming, and quieter than the main room.
Think the menu is off putting, overly complicated, not easily comprehensible. Food was ok but had cold baked carrots, good, half my dining mate’s greens and radish salad, very fresh and burger dry, a little overcooked and fries lukewarm For the price it was a little disappointing.
Delicious meal and cocktails! Will definitely return next time in town!
The service was outstanding. The food was amazing have no complaints
One of the most INCREDIBLE flavor layered meals I have had outside of my own cooking, in quite sometime.
It was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!! Thank you!
Cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and great menu! I can’t wait to return the next time I’m in Hudson.
Such a great meal…great service, delicious food and wine
Wonderful meal and a wonderful experience. Many thanks.
Fabulous food and great service made for a lovely meal. Covid protocols in place also made us feel safe to enjoy our evening.
The service is always excellent, the cocktails thoughtfully prepared, and the food captures the best seasonal flavors and offerings. This visit highlights were: the wood grilled carrots, the Bonhome Farm field greens, the dry-aged steak with creamed spinach was delectable, and the chocolate sea salt caramel tart with toasted hazelnuts for a swoon worthy finish.
Interesting nicely diverse menu, excellent cooking, nice tavern atmosphere, very good drinks. Prices are Manhattan level. Service is spotty but cheerful and adequate (had to ask for silverware at each course).
Food was good but service was horrible. Waited an hour before ordering food and drinks took 45 minutes to get.
A little pricey, but well worth it. We celebrated my wife's birthday and our server got into the spirit of the occasion. Every dish was delicious and innovative. Exceeded my expectations and can't wait to go back.
We were pleasantly surprised with the ambience as well as the superior quality of food when we visited Hudson and ate at farmer and sons. I highly recommend this modern, clean, farmhouse cooking to anyone who enjoys food. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Beautiful space, lovely food. Such a treat for our first restaurant experience in Hudson post-Covid. Definitely a special occasion place. We will be back.
Fantastic all around. Cocktails especially fantastic.
