Lightly Breaded Fried Asparagus, Chipotle Ranch
Food was good . Waiter friendly. Very accommodating.
Fun bar,cozy classic pub atmosphere!
Great time and the band was fabulous Food ok but service was !
We had no idea it was going to be louder than a concert for a Christmas in July theme
A neat old-timey pub vibe, not too loud, nice atmosphere. Good food, not too fancy, straight-forward and very well prepared. Service was friendly and efficient. Executive chef checked in on us during the meal. Would recommend.
Soup was tasty but cold, average piece of salmon, fingerling potatoeswere not edible, sandwhich were very good. Would not go back. Service was outstanding.
Great food and friendly service. Our waitress was extremely accommodating.
Tourist Trap with Horrible service..at least for us! When we arrived we were seated in the back room area, not the actual pub...The pub area is pretty with lowered lighting, high top tables, stone floor. The room attached is lit from cans in the ceiling, has bad carpeting and is overall not a pretty room. OK we can live with that. Our table was sticky as if the previous guest spilled soda and it was mopped up with an already sticky cloth. Luckily we had a wipe, so we fixed that. The menu was right for a pub, good app choices, and about 10 entrees, with plenty of variety.
Now let's get to our server, Josh. To preface this, right next to us were two tables getting amazing service from a young lady, so this isn't a training issue. Josh just doesn't give a crap...First interaction, about 8 minutes after being sat..he brings waters, then asks "Do you want anything else but water to drink?" No greeting, no introduction, no iota of care shown about us as guests. We ordered drinks...and waited. About 10 minutes later the drinks arrive, we put in for appetizer. This was brought by the manager because Josh was no where to be seen. The manager had to find us b&b plates and roll ups...Josh never brought them. So now we're starting apps and could use another drink. Finally another round of drinks makes it's way over and entrees are put in. Wait, looking for Josh, nope. Finally another runner brings entrees and we eat. Now out of water and bar drinks. We flag Josh down for more water so we can finish our meal, he's so very useless really. In the mean time the two tables mentioned before have had drinks, water refills, someone asked if they liked their food, you know normal waiter stuff.
Finally with the check I asked Josh if he was new and he said he's been doing this for a month and it's just his summer job so who cares how good he is.
Hopefully everyone who reads this. DON'T GET JOSH.
Oh and Asparagus Fries are great!!!
Food was great, only mild issue is my beer was served English style - flat and a little warm.
Great experience. Would go again
Our meal was quite good- we kept it simple- French onion soup and burgers and a chicken sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals and our service was quite efficient and attentive. We’ll go back!
This restaurant is in a hotel. Service was very slow, the menu is limited, servers were inexperienced. We ordered sprite for the kids snd they kept bringing club soda. Mashed potatoes were instant. Food was cold. Could be a cool place but they need to really need to steps their game up!
Food was delicious. Ambience dated inside but nice outside on patio. Our waitress was sweet as could be but could use a bit more training on table etiquette- overall experience was nice for a quick meal.
Absolutely horrible food. Yhere were 5 of us and 4 out of 5 were very disappointed in our food. Mine wasn’t edible. We won’t go back
Tavern is very quaint, staff is pleasant. Food is average.
The staff is great, friendly and upbeat. Have only eaten at the tavern twice but both times the meal and appetizers were great. Wish I knew the name of the blond woman who waited on us the first time, great personality and excellent service. Kudos to Dan,our server, on the second visit. We're locals and will continue to frequent the Wolfeboro Inn. We've eaten at most of the remaining local restaurants. The Wolfeboro Inn is definitely #1. We plan to recommend the tavern to friends and family and to take our guests there when they visit.
Good choices and prices good..great food..nice ambiance
Simple to reserve a spot. Great service, although the restaurant was fairly empty, which felt strange. Food was delicious and well-prepared.
The waitress was awesome and the food was great. TY
The ambiance and wait staff are quite good. The food, however, was just okay. This could be because we were there in the slow season. There were few choices and at least the Tavern offered some diversity.
Great food, great service.
Excellent staff. Specials were great!
Birthday, menu didn't match the one I saw online
My wife and I decided to take the 45 minute trip to Wolfe’s Tavern because it was quite some time since we have been. My fault for not reviewing the menu before hand, but I could not get over the limited menu options. Granted it’s a “tavern”, but the main focus seemed to be in sandwich like dishes. The waiter was quick to arrive after we sat. I asked him for a moment to review the options which apparently was my first mistake. By the time he came back, I was less than a minute from saying never mind and leaving. Anyhow, we placed our order for a couple drinks and soups since I wanted to see how that went before ordering some entrees. Good move on my part. The drinks took at least 10 minutes to come over and the soups about another 10 after that. At least I knew I wasn’t the only one as the table next to us was very frustrated as well. Either way, due to the very limited menu and slow service, we decided it was best to finish the evening someplace else. I must say the food that did come out of the kitchen looked very good, but I was not willing to wait that long for fairly simple items.
My wife and I figured we’d give it a shot. When we went here previously in 2014 the service was horrible. I wish I could says it’s improved. We were there for about and hour and only received our drinks that weren’t great. After waiting half an hour for our appetizers and being ignored by our server over another party that was bigger I went to the hostess and asked to settle the check and cancel our apps. The only positive part of this experience is the hostess cleared our tab and told me not to worry about it. We have a gift card from family that we wanted to use but we won’t ever set foot in there again.
Service was slow but they made up for it by paying for our entire meal. The food was amazing and drinks were ok not as strong as I’d like
This dinner was to celebrate my sons 13th birthday and Valentine’s Day. We had reservations for 645. We waited 15 minutes for the server to acknowledge us, then an hour for our food which all came out at once - appetizer and entrees - EXCEPT for my daughter’s, which was pasta and should have been the easiest to make. Drinks were not refilled unless we could flag down the waiter (an iffy proposition at best) and there was clearly a staffing issue as our waiter seemed to be the only one for our entire room full of tables. Our food was lukewarm to cold and aside from the chip appetizer, was not good. The waiter initially said he wouldn’t charge us for the entrees and then ended up only taking off the drinks (two Shirley temples, a Diet Coke, and two beers). We ended up paying almost $70 and had to go get something to supplement afterwards because none of us could finish our subpar meals except my daughter, who did get her pasta 15 minutes after the rest of us were served our entrees and appetizer. I did hear a staff person tell another table that several people had called out, I assume including kitchen staff, but they tried to deal with it by just never going to any of the tables unless they were bringing food out, and then running right back into the kitchen. I get that stuff happens but it would have been nice if they had been up front with us about the staffing issues and kitchen backup. That said, even without those issues, the food was not good and we would not go back again. It was too bad, because the inside of the restaurant is cute and had a nice cozy ambiance.
Nice atmosphere. It wasn’t real crowded, but the bartender also had to do tables. She was alone and really had to hustle. There were several winter specials on the menu that were good and a good draft beer selection.
Thank you for stopping in to enjoy great food and beer as well as service from our Bartender...even though she was pulled in many directions.
The food was excellent and the one server they had was working very hard to keep up with both the physical customers and the togo orders. They were short staff and that is unfortunate, but serious kudos to the dining staff that was there!!
Thank you so very much for your recognition and praise of the food quality and especially of Sam. Sam is a superstar and we hear great comments about her often. I will share your comments with her as this will mean the world to her. See you again soon.
I like a rustic feel but this restaurant needs updating.
We made a last minute reservation for Thanksgiving dinner. The online menu looked great!! We were staying at a local hotel & were thinking we'd rather get takeout so I called back, spoke with Michelle. She was the nicest, sweetest person who changed our reservation to a take out without hesitation. The meals, one ham & one turkey were huge!! Plenty of meat, veggies, side salad, rolls & dessert! Highly recommend!!
I am delighted to hear you enjoyed your dinner from Wolfe's Tavern. The Culinary team has worked hard to provide superior service and high quality food. I will be certain to pass along your comments to all on property.
Wolfe's Tavern does a spectacular Thanksgiving dinner. The food is certainly the best traditional dinner we have ever had, and the cranberry/orange side alone is worth the trip. We have dined here for the holiday in years before, and even with Covid restrictions, the restaurant once again hit it out of the park. They even moved us to a private area that became available for greater comfort with social distancing. Superb!
Thank you so very much for your support and recognition of the efforts made by the Wolfe's Tavern Team. We hope to see you again soon.
Nice dining room with fireplace adjacent to long bar.
Reliable food, enough choices, I loved my salmon with hoisin and fried rice. My friend had dietary restrictions so she had salad with salmon, the guys had burgers. All good. The tables were spaced far apart, the waitress was busy but attentive and personable. We always take company here because it is reliable.
Very convenient - right at the Inn. Full menu did not seem to be offered, although this is pub food and not finr dining.
Great time for the family. A little pricey, but we had a great time and the food was pretty good
Outstanding service very accommodating!
This place was dirty and rundown. The fish batter was old, the pasta salad was mushy and oily, the sandwich was greasy, and so on. What a shame! The service was fine, though
The Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich was excellent from the toasted bread to the turkey and stuffing all being warm was outstanding. The clam chowder tasted great but lacked in clams and potatoes.
Ordered Hamburger and fish. Very good. Staff very friendly Josh the manager very good, helped to make the evening enjoyable.
