Beautiful setting and a much needed night out during Covid. However, we expected an excellent culinary experience and were disappointed with the overall dinner. We found the food fairly mediocre, lacking seasoning/flavor, and the first courses were quite small portions. The $100 per person price was not commensurate with what we ate, but the staff was fantastic and we appreciated the beautiful setting and felt safe.
Food was really good, close to excellent but somewhat laced robust flavor. For farm to table not the intense flavor expected. Service was not great - forgot bread, needed to be reminded to brong clean silverware to replace that used for finished courses. May go again but will opt to try other venues first

Earlier this summer we had a fabulous dinner and were excited to go back. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Evidently, the chef that was there has left, and the food was not good.

Trouble experience. Such an overpriced disappointment. Everything was cold and favored awful. The heirloom salad had zero heirloom tomatoes. Just two grape tomatoes cut in half. The dressing was so spicy our lips and mouth were on fire. Lobster was over cooked and chewy. Waitress didn’t wear her mask at all. Will never return.

I called ahead of time to make sure they could accommodate a vegan meal and they confirmed that they could. We showed and the server was very nice. I let her know again that I would need a vegan meal which she assured me she would talk directly into the chef. First entre was nice and refreshing. The salad had croton which I just picked out but was promised there would not be crotons. The next meal I requested no mushrooms, it came full of mushroom which I just ended up not eating. Pasta was bland. My husband was also not thrilled with his non-vegan meal. It's overrated and not worth the price. The ambiance was nice but likely not returning.

Beautiful spot, great staff, Lilliputian portions for astronomical price. Not sure if I had a lobster tail or a crawfish.

The garden setting is absolutely stunning, and you are paying for ambience here.
The food was okay, but portions were tiny compared to what we expected for a $95 meal. For example, the second course of watermelon and feta salad consisted of a small rectangle of feta topped with four teeny tiny pieces of watermelon.
Our waitress was delightful, however service was quite slow - it was a three hour meal, which can be fun but we were pretty hungry by the time we got our mains due to the small appetizer sizes.
Overall we thought the meal was akin to a meal you’d get at a wedding - good, not great food and very expensive. If only there was a band!

We had a very good overall, but somewhat inconsistent, experience at Lambert's Cove Inn. The ambience, seated in the lovely and well maintained garden at the inn, is incredible. Waitstaff were kind and attentive. As for food. Some of the dishes were excellent - well prepared, great flavors, presentation, everything. The fried oysters were amazing, and the braised short rib was among the best short rib dishes I have ever had. Some dishes were a bit lackluster or uninspired though, especially the appetizer salads. But overall, a very enjoyable meal.
Great place and friendly island service.
The delayed arrival of the main course was unreasonable. The cod was served tepid at best and short rib was dry.
We were visiting MV after time on the cape and wanted something enjoyable and not too heavy. Each course was
delightful with my highlight being the summer squash soup & my partner's the tuna. The GM Ayana (who may have also been the sommelier) was very helpful in settling a playful dispute, and the music accompanied the meals in a way that felt familiar and homey.
We were disappointed in our dinner at the Woods. We decided to give it a try based on a friend's recommendation. They seemed to be short-staffed and the overall we were not impressed with the food. We are foodies, so our standard is likely higher than most people.
We were disappointed that they weren't serving the menu described on their web site. Unfortunately the fish (cod) was over cooked and dry.
The couple on the table next to us were similarly disappointed. Otherwise food was fine Ambience and wait staff were very nice.
Our previous experiences were much better and would still recommend to others.
I tagged the atmosphere as moderate, since due to Covid, there weren't as many diners as there normally would be. It was actually quiet, which is terrific since my husband is partially deaf. Lovely, yummy food as usual. Our go to place for a dinner that never disappoints when we're on island.
The ambiance was just perfect! Came here for our wedding anniversary and the service was great. The food was amazing and so fresh. My favorites was the short ribs and the fresh yellow fin tuna! It is pre-fix dinner and a bit pricy but still a wonderful experience.
Very nice setting and pleasant people working there. However for $95 prix fix the food should have much better. It was fine but not at all special.
I have been coming to Lambert's Cove in since before my sons rehearsal dinner in Oct 1992. The atmosphere is changed and it is all too trendy for my taste. I don't like prix fix menus and there were not enought choices. I liked it better when we ate in the small dinning room in the inn and the ivy grew in through the foundation in the corner. The entire common area of the Inn is decorated like it is an after thought. It was, however, lovely to eat in the garden area.
Delicious outdoor meal in a beautiful garden setting! We booked due to other great reviews on food and chef. We found out on arrival that chef had recently been replaced. Overall, the food was very good, although portions were quite small. I had the braised short rib, which was delicious with roasted carrots over polenta, but it would have been nice to have more than one rib. The menu was a fixed price with very limited options for four courses. Not sure we got our money's worth of food for $95 per person. However, the beautiful setting and the wonderful service all contributed to a very pleasant experience.
Great atmosphere- food was good but portions were small and very slow even for a 4 course fixed menu (almost 2.5 hrs). Also a $55 fixed menu for kids is just absurd- the kids are looking forward to dessert and the brownies were just 2 mini muffin bite size pieces.
Not worth it for the price.
Everything about the restaurant was wonderful; we dined outside and it was lovely - the staff was very friendly; our waitress, Kaya was superb - very efficient and a lovely girl; the food was excellent - not overly heavy, given the four courses; but very tasty. Everything about our experience was wonderful!
Really beautiful setting, great service. The food was good, but not great. The lobster in squid ink special was well cooked, but bland. The tomato salad is boring, the chees plat meager.
Fabulous outdoor dining room, so pretty and just wonderful! Excellent friendly and attentive service. Greatly creative cuisine, only wish there were more vegetarian and carb free choices but otherwise what a lovely experience!

Beautiful outdoor garden setting. Restaurant offers 4 course prix fixe menu using local ingredients. Overall, the food and service is a work in progress. Hopefully, the chef and management will improve so that the menu matches the ambiance.

We arrived promptly at 7:45 for our reservation. There was no one to greet us outdoors and we stood outside waiting for at least five minutes. The hostess walked right by us on her way from the garden dining area into the main hotel. I smiled and said hello… she looked up ….saw the two of us standing there, one person with a cane, and she did not greet us and continued into the main building of the hotel. After another few minutes, I saw A server and I asked her where one checked in to let the restaurant know that we were actually there. She directed me to the hostess station inside the restaurant. We went there, which was difficult for my friend with a few stairs and her cane, and found no one standing at the hostess desk. We looked at the main desk,
Which was also unattended until eventually we found the hostess, still not acknowledging our presence- and we had to stop her and ask if we could have our table! Do you assured us to our table rushing ahead of my poor friend who was hobbling with her cane, and the host is never once looked back to see if we could follow directly behind her. When we got to the table, she recited the drinks menu and took off.
This was completely bizarre in terms of our experience of your restaurant. We ate here two weeks ago and loved every minute of it from the greeting of the person standing at the entrance to the garden to our final dessert!
I never write long reviews such as this, but last night’s experience really warranted a good description for you. It made us not very eager to return!

A delightful evening. A superb dinner. An exceptional bottle of wine. All of this set among the flower gardens of your inn! It made for a remarkable dining experience. Thank you.
We dined here in June and it was very good. Last night, not so much. Started with stale bread. The crispy oysters were delicious, but last time there were five, now only 3. The peach salad was a mess: unripe peaches, overly-sweet sauce. The entrees were good. Biggest disappointment was dessert: last time, the chocolate cake was a generous, dark chocolate treat; this time, two tiny little discs, with no chocolate flavor at all. The bill came to $500 for three of us, with wine and tip: not worth it.
Not worth the money. Lovely ambiance and our server was very sweet but overall not a good experience.

Very disappointed with the entire experience. The food was of very poor quality and nothing stood out or was even acceptable. From the crouton size three pieces of grocery store Baggett in a basket for a table of four to the cheese tray for dessert that comprised two small butter pat pieces of cheese.
The wait between each of the 4 course meal was an average of 40 minutes and the restaurant was not full.
I would not recommend at all.
‘Wedding factory in the woods’ is not a cozy bistro and not really a restaurant. The food is ego-driven by a kitchen that lacks training, not an ingredients-driven white tablecloth place at all. Every course had glaring errors, starting with the frozen mass-produced bread that was hard and chalky, replaced by freshly defrosted bread that was wet. Next came apps plated fast, garnished with greens wilted under a heat lamp. Proportions were comically out of whack, with nice apps sized like amuses, and “salads” dressed by super soaker. One main was 1/2# fresh frozen pasta cooked gummy, sauced bland and topped heavily with food service shredded “cheese”. The second was 2 oz of scallops (that’s 4 scallops total, with any two fitting on one fork) expertly seared, sitting on top of 3 tbs of room temp quinoa, on marinara/romesco that was cold cold, with a crudité sized piece of broccolini also fridge-cold.
Staff was affable and well-meaning, but hamstrung by an inept kitchen and not versed in restaurant service, fine food or wine. Our waiter vanished for 20 minutes after clearing plates, leaving empty glasses and wine bottle for us to play spin the bottle. When he returned, he let us know that cheese plates were coming (soon!) and offered dessert wine, but at 2 hours and zero patience, we asked for the cheese to go. In 10 minutes, it came with apologies in greasy finger-printed to-go containers, and was - of course - supermarket cheese chunks (we are talking pepper jack here) and a few berries.
Cassette era rock soundtrack left on from set-up was funny at first, but par for the course by the time we paid our $400 tab. And what’s with plastic trees and birdhouses in the dining room a la Rainforest Cafe / Christmas tree shop?
If you’re the Bridal Barn, stay out of the restaurant ring. Pandemic’s hit all of us hard, and I will pay a premium as we recover, but that’s no excuse for mass produced/prepared food, misguided service and zero attention to any detail at all.
We ate outside, under a tent. It began to rain so we felt badly for the waitstaff who got rained on but they were professional and made sure they stayed dry. Great food, great staff.

So sad to post this but it is not the lamberts cove of years past and we’ve been dining there for 4 summers. As friendly and apologetic as the management and service tried to be, it did not take away the disappointment in the slowness of the overall service and the poor quality of food. It took 3 hours for a party of four to dine with a price fix menu of 4 courses that offered 2-4 choices. The restaurant was not at capacity so by restaurant standards that is a crazy length of time. We were either waiting forever for our next course or waiting forever for the dishes to be cleared from the table. Some meals were just okay and some fell way short of “fine dining” food. I’m not going to rip apart the dishes because I’m sure the intention behind the creation was genuine, but I have to share that there was major inconsistency, in the same meal ordered, by two different people. Also, the quality was definitely missing in some of the ingredients in different dishes. I don’t know if they weren’t tasting the food before they serve or realized that chopping into a hard peach means it isn’t ripe and will not be sweet to the palate to serve. We left so bummed as this is our annual family dinner ritual when we visit each summer. With the beach plum inn restaurant gone for a few years and now this restaurants decline… the Vineyard is slowly losing it true local, fine dining, farm to table experience.
