    非常に洗練され、素材を活かした素晴らしい和食を頂くことができるお店です。またそのホスピタリティも申し分無いと思います。 決してお値段は安くはありませんが、その値段に見合う価値は充分にあると思います。 またTorontoに行った際には、是非寄らせて頂きたいと思います。

    For over twelve years, Zen Japanese Restaurant has been a true Markham institution. Having come here since day one, I can confidently say it remains the gold standard for refined Japanese cuisine. The food is extraordinary—pristine, beautifully crafted, and consistently top quality. The interior is exceptional: serene, minimal, and thoughtfully designed to match the elegance on the plate. Paired with graceful, attentive service, every meal feels special. What truly sets Zen apart is its unbeatable value. Exceptional quality often comes with a steep price tag, but Zen delivers an elevated, high-end fine dining experience with amazing bang for your buck. Having a place of this caliber right here in Markham is a rare treat. I highly recommend Zen.

    It was my first time visiting this restaurant it’s not very fancy, which is nice. A lot of people were wearing shorts and T-shirts. My favourite was a tempura. The shrimp was amazing. We got the restaurant to alter a dish to make a lobster roll for us, which was good but pricey. The sashimi was really good as well, but also very pricey for two pieces. Overall, it was a very nice experience. I’m not really familiar with tradition traditional Japanese sashimi dining. But I would recommend going just be mindful that it is a bit more of a pricier Japanese style restaurant considering it does have a Michelin star.

We focus on using high-quality ingredients, many of which are carefully sourced from Japan, and preparing them using traditional Japanese techniques. We understand that this can result in a higher price point, and we truly appreciate your feedback.     It’s the first time we visited this restaurant, expecting authentic Japanese food as well as service. The waitresses are polite and served well. However, while we were waiting for our food (sushi and sashimi, etc). We found that the sushi chefs were not wearing masks or transparent food preparation half masks. It’s kind of okay if they are not talking in the sushi bar. But it’s not very appropriate to keep on chatting with the old customers who were sitting at the sushi bar, and on top of the food under preparation. To us, it’s a very basic hygienic measure for sashimi chefs to wear food preparation masks. So this is one thing we found a bit disappointing. Food was fresh and standard is normal and better presentation expected as on sashimi.

    As always the dishes at Zen were served with perfection. The service is always exceptional, especially how the staff remembers what my child likes and doesn't like.
