We come to Zia's to celebrate special occasions and often Mothers day. This year it was mothers day and a first communion together in a jam packed afternoon. Zia's was extremely accommodating and super helpful in making our lunch a success. Everyone there is always happy, friendly and very helpful. Will continue to visit. :)
A great way to spend Mother's Day or any other occasion. Great food, service, entertainment, etc. I'll definitely be recommending Zia's Lago Vista to friends and family!
Food was great! Waiters were friendly and very kind
came for the ambiance , made reservations early . got sat by the front door in plastic chairs on a dinky table . if you make reservations be sure to be sat in the back where it’s much nicer . food was good tho
The food was really good and the portions are huge for the price! The staff was very friendly but the service wasn't great...we had a missed order and they forgot about our appetizer. but they provided a free tiramisu to make up for it, which was very sweet!
The unlimited mimosas was awesome!
Our server was amazing. The manager upon arrival was not very welcoming.
The service was amazing, the food was not at its best.
Great place to keep coming back to. Service was great and the booths are comfy and private. Kevin does a great job managing the whole operation
Love love Zias - I’m so sad they’ll be closing :( have to enjoy it as much as possible until then!
Birthday for friend
Lovely restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating options they had very friendly staff the drinks were definitely great and good music I wasn’t a big fan of the four fingered pasta but the sauce and sausage made up for that I expected garlic bread or sticks but other than that everything was great the shrimp scampi was good you get like 5 giant shrimps but everything was well seasoned and the entree portions were big I’d come back forsure!
First, the actual menu was COVID-ized, meaning it was very very scaled back from what open table showed. After a year-plus of COVID, that should have been fixed. Second, upon arrival, we were told that there was a party of 50 in the back. Mind you, this party was in addition to a completely packed dining room, so there were at least 100 people where there should not have been. I’m thankful we were offered a seat on the patio. Also, when I asked for sparkling water, I was told they ran out after serving over 600 people for brunch. 600? In a five hour span? Do these people not realize there is a pandemic? I don’t eat in restaurants right now at home, but we are in Chicago for a few days, so restaurants are all that’s available (carry out could be an option, but we chose to try a restaurant). Although the food was pretty good, with large portions, this restaurant is, in my opinion, a super spreader for COVID. Stay away, unless you can sit outside.
I was very happy that our server ( Lauren) was able to move us to a larger table that had heat. We were told by the hostess that the heater at first table was broke and there’s nothing she can do. Why sit people at an outdoor table without heat and not tell them? Food, drinks, ambiance was great. We will be back!
Not a fan of the dance music blasting but after awhile I didn't notice it as much
The wait for the actual food was 45 minutes for eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Was not asked for a refill on drinks, was not brought salt or pepper, and my toast was forgotten. Disappointed by the service as Zia’s this time.
The hostess was amazing and went above and beyond to make our experience great but our waiter was awful. Refilled our “bottomless” mimosas only 3 times. We wanted hot sauce but weren’t able to get it until we were done eating about 30 minutes after we got our food because he didn’t come to our table for that long. I’m not exaggerating. To make it worse after the absolutely awful service he serves us our check after 65 minutes saying “your 90 minutes is up”. It was beyond rude, not only because he was completely wrong about the timing, but also had not helped our table at all within the “time limit”. This guy should not work in the service industry
A wonderful restaurant with great service! Definitely would recommend!
I visited Zia's Lago Vista with some friends for brunch and we all had a great time! We really enjoyed the mimosas and our food was delicious. We had the breakfast pizza, which was delicious and big enough to bring some home for leftovers, and we also had the Benedict Granchio! The service was great and they were very open to small substitutions with our food. My friends and I will be visiting here again as soon as possible!
Nice night out at Zia's. We went at 7 pm on a Sunday, and the only issue was that half the menu was sold out. They had no specials and no pizza to offer. Sort of strange.
The food was good. The brunch menu was awesome. The brunch $15 package was a good price.
Loved everything about our brunch! I highly recommend Zia's!
This place is amazing ! The atmosphere the music the mimosas the food omg! I would totally recommend a visit .
Not a lot of options for vegetarians but Zia’s remains my #1 brunch spot in chicago.
Great meal and friendly attentive service. Want to come when they have live music.
I love the atmosphere, the service, food and wine here! It never fails to satisfy me and all of the guests I've invited to join me here.
Overall the experience was great. Bottomless mimosas were truly bottomless, our server made sure we never hit the bottom haha. Great time. Definitely recommend.
The bartender served me and my friends during the last hour of brunch. We arrived late and we’re still served bottomless mimosas and received our tasty food quickly. The only downside is we were seated in front, and they still leave some doors open for outside diners. So dress warm if it’s cold or windy, but prepare to have fun!
Was pretty decent. Nice ambiance, table and location. However you only get 90 minutes for dining in. Reservations was at 12p got seated. However was asked that we had to leave even prior to 90 minutes which didn’t make any sense. Maybe like 10-15 minutes prior but that’s not cool. The restaurant wasn’t even packed.
This place was just fantastic! The pastas were really good, portions are awesome and the ambiance of the place with the indoor/ outdoor accommodations make this place our new go to restaurant!
Love that there is lots of outdoor seating. Delicious pasta!
Great outside tent and space in front of restaurant. We love Zia's - the food, waitstaff and wine! Highly recommend dining at this location.
Good food, okay mimosas but for $15 you'd have to chug them to drink more than 2 with that 90 minutes they time you with... Server was great though! In general I think they charge for the ambience more than the quality of food and drinks.
It was nice going to a well known place and having the ambiance as it was.
They were very responsive to COVID recommendations. The bar was mainly open air, and we had a comfortable table outside. The servers all wore masks and the tables were distanced. It made for a very nice evening. One of my first in a restaurant since the pandemic began.
Food was great, more than enough! $15 bottomless mimosa or bloddy Mary’s!
The food tasted WONDERFUL, the social distancing was conscious, and our server was personable and quick! We ate on the patio and it was perfect, a bit noisy (from Ashland street traffic and a rowdy group on the patio). The prices were a little much, $18-20 on average for a plate. Overall, we would recommend this place!
Very accommodating staff, switched us inside due to cold weather, and were very attentive throughout evening.
I love Zia’s. It is the gold standard. This visit did not live up to the high standards previously set by zia’s. Obviously Covid has changed so much for the industry. However there are still things under the restaurant’s control that can contribute to a pleasant dining experience.
Zia’s used to offer valet parking. This is not the case anymore. Having this information in advance would be appreciated, especially when dining with the elderly or those with impaired mobility.
Zia’s has always been fun but they have now employed the skills of a dj along with several additional speakers throughout the restaurant. While my husband and I would usually enjoy this, we were dining with our grandmothers who did not appreciate the house dance music as much as we did.
Finally, our favorite dishes were removed from the brunch menu- braciole hash and breakfast pizza.
