Zinc Port Douglas

Great food but the service isn’t very cheery and a bit lacking in atmosphere.

Beautiful fresh flavours, wide variety of choices, excellent service, wonderful cocktails in a lovely setting.

We are have pretty high expectations when it comes to “higher end” restaurants, and we loved our experience at Zinc.
All the food was good and some was really excellent. A great balance of flavours and textures.
Even though my dining experiences are always impacted by sitting across from my strikingly stunning wife, and the wonderful conversation, I highly recommend this restaurant especially if you are looking for an exceptional culinary experience.
It was pricey, but totally worth it.

Travelled up from Canberra after not having been to Port Douglas in 10 years. Made sure to book our first dinner at ZINC as they had always delivered amazing food on prior trips - and we were not disappointed! We ordered the beef and barramundi dishes and were not disappointed, slow cooked and soft - perfect! Dessert was definitely worth it too - a delicious chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet - amazing! Thanks again!

Wasn’t a bad night .!I ordered the Barramundi and cold slaw . The side of the portion was small for the price . The wife’s meal was ok . Sometimes
I think fine dining is over done , The service and wine list was good .

Everything you would expect in a restaurant, highly recommend

Bread was good .
Eye filet quality was good .but not instagramable.

The oyster and kingfish entrees were perfect, however it was the mains that were the standout dishes. Seafood linguine was well done and the lamb shank gnocchi was easily one of the best dishes I’ve ever been served in a restaurant. Thanks for a great evening, hope to be in PD again so we can come back. Will gladly recommend friends to visit!!

An elegant and well run restaurant. Pity about the screaming baby at next table - maybe restaurants like this should have a policy of no kids under 10??
We used Privileges Card with no problem at all, giving us a good discount.

Food and service were amazing. The staff are lovely! The fish tank at the front of the restaurant and in the rest rooms are so cool.
The only issue we had was trying to read our menus in the dark outside seating area where the only light is an artificial candle on the table. (Some dim overhead lighting may've helped ease this)

Food was fantastic, especially the seafood pasta. We were all quite disappointed that there didn’t appear to be an covid check-in, seems like a risky oversight given the current. All the other places we visited in port Douglas had a check-in so it seemed a little irresponsible that this didn’t happen at zinc. Waitress was great but clearly too busy to be as attentive as one would hope in a fine dining restaurant.

Our group had a delicious meal at your restaurant. We dined there twice the week we stayed in Port Douglas. We especially enjoyed all the seafood entrees and main meals, desserts were also very delicious. Good luck with your future endeavours.

Every aspect was very good. Only issue was sitting next to outside fan. It is very noisy.

Overall we were glad we came. And definitely would come again.

We came for anniversary dinner and booked well ahead . The food was great but service was a major letdown compared to our previous visit. Disengaged waitress took over 20 minute to take our first drink order and we has to approach waitress servicing a seperate area to order drinks during our sitting as we were not being serviced by our appointed waitress. Still loved the food but not the service let the experience down.

Great experience here with friendly staff and great food, something for everyone on the menu.

The food was decent, but not amazing. However the service was average. We waited 15 minutes before a waitress came to the table. The waitress looked like she really didn’t want to be there...It’s hard to give a review since Port Douglas doesn’t have much choice in regards to nice dining options. It’s either this or a pub.

My wife and I dined here last week. We enjoyed the excellent food which was tasty and displayed with outstanding presentation. Our only gripe was the slow service that we had to keep chasing up, so the food came out lukewarm on each dish.
But that aside, it was excellent and we would go again.

Bit of a disappointing dinner at Zinc. We were a table of 4 with a late 8pm sitting. The food was all average - nothing was amazing. My steak was chewy and had to be sent back.
Service was adequate but very basic - little engagement from the staff, and no one asked us if we had a good night/ enjoyed our dinner etc.
There are better places in Port to spend this kind of money.

Family of 4 and there was something for everyone. Dessert is a must try

Our food at Zinc was absolutely delicious! We shared the king fish ceviche and then my partner had a steak and I had the beef bourguignon which was to die for!! So tasty and the matching wines were great too :)

Fantastic location. Menu varied. Décor lovely and spacious. Inside or outside dining. Would thoroughly recommend for lunch, dinner or special occasion.

Waitress was rude, at no point did she ask how our meal was, just returned to ask if she can take our finished plates. The flavours were not complex, nothing special like you would expect from fine dining. We had the mushroom gyoza (bland), Barra was pleasant but nothing exceptional and the Beef was way too salty and heavy.

Save your money and go up the road to Watergate where the food was next level and the service was so much better

Mediocre for the price. Menu changes, things like only coleslaw with the fillet steak, put me off. Wine was low quality for the price.

Excellent service with food to match. Our waiter was engaging but not intrusive and offered suggestions when asked. The food was first class from the first bite to the last.

We booked for NYE at the 5:30 sitting. Our waitress was well below par. Our bill came to $800 for 4 people. Food was very good. We would have spent more on alcoholic beverages if we had received quality service.

We really enjoyed our meal on New Years Eve. All the dishes were delicious and the service was great on a busy night. Wine was nice as well

A little bit underwhelmed by the restaurant as we went in with high hopes.
Was disappointed to find out there was a surcharge for a “public holiday” on the 28th of December . This normally wouldn’t bother me but there was no mention of it online when booking, at which point your credit card details are taken so you can be charged if you change your mind. I completely understand why it exists but it would have been nice to know before booking not when showing up at the restaurant.
