This was a lovely evening at Zizzis from start to finish the service was friendly and very efficient. The food was excellent would definately recommend
Lovely atmosphere and efficient service. Waitress was new to her job (sorry cant remember her name!) and did such a great job to make us feel welcome and ensure all was ok during our meal. Food was delicious, would certainly return when back in Manchester in future. 5* service all round.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and charming. Quite a surprise given the location of Picadilly Gardens!
Group gathering
As we were a big group we had to do multiple bookings under different names. One of our bookings was canceled and the restaurant manager was rude in addressing the issue. He simply told us it’s not my problem. Then we were given a table up and two tables down and were refused to have the three tables on the same floor although the lower floor was empty and they could have accommodated all of us on the same floor on different tables which we told them we do not mind however they were not willing to listen at all.
The food was good. But ...
They had lost our reservation. We had to show them our reservation online before we could get a table.
We were seated, originally, next to the toilet. When we complained, we were moved to the (almost empty!) downstairs section.
We got our main with our starters, so sent back the main ... that was why we ordered starters rather than one big meal!
When we tried to pay with club card vouchers, they said they didn’t accept them ... although the terms of the voucher say that they do.
Nice food. Nice enough people. But ... kinda felt we were not welcome, given all of the above.
Only real issue was they had lost our reservation! Not sure how the open table system works but they said they didn’t have our reservation even when showing the email confirmation they said they had no record of it!
Manager was a bit uppety about it if no verging in rude which didn’t start the experience off well. The table we were given was dirty.
After a bad start it did pick up. The food was good and the servers made up for the managers rudeness.
We got served extremely quickly. Friendly staff, great food and atmosphere.
Starters were fine, but then both of our pizzas were undercooked. Still pretty much raw dough. We sent them back, but they were returned too quickly. My pizza was just about edible, but my wife’s was still undercooked. Credit to the manager, who took all of the food off the bill. But very disappointing experience. Strange, as I’ve used this restaurant previously with no issues.
Tasty food, not too expensive - friendly staff and a convenient location
