Ram Restaurant & Brewhouse - Rosemont
Our experience was just the worst. We put in our reservation notes that we needed to be out of there by 7pm and we didn't get our bill until close to 7:20pm and that was only after having to flag down our server multiple times. Let's discuss what warranted the 1-star review:
*We waited for our food for over 30 minutes
*When the order arrived it was wrong, when letting our server know we had ordered Spinach Artichoke Dip and not what was brought to the table, he told me I was wrong. Just because you put it into the system incorrectly, doesn't make it right buddy.
*When the food finally arrived, the Nachos had been sitting under the heat lamp for enough time to absolutely pulverize the chicken. It was inedible. How do you ruin nachos!?
*Never received waters
*Had to flag down the server for our bill -- the bill was incorrect, but at this point we just paid it and left since we were running so late. Our server had told us we arrived in time for Happy Hour pricing, but he charged us full price instead of the Happy Hour price.
Needless to say...we won't ever be back.
We made reservations and the restaurant was closed.
The waitress was very good. Everyone enjoyed their lunch but one or two thought the salad they ordered was just ok.
Limited menu due to short staff. Food was cold, not very good
Great spot to watch a game for a group ! Good drink and food choices. Conveniently located to good highways for those coming from multiple directions / burbs.
Great atmosphere for watching sports or getting a great and hearty meal.
Service needs to be trained properly.
We ordered a bottle of wine.
Dorthea placed the chiller and bottle on the table
and turned away. What just happened?
She has no clue how to test the wine, nor how to pour the wine.
Simple stuff that shows how ignorant the server is in a bar area//restaurant setting.
It shows that she has never tasted wine before and this really saddened me
and made the meal simply tasteless.
Moreover I asked for a bit of ground pepper on our salads.....
again Dorthea brings the pepper shaker and leaves it.
No service....no clue.
This shows how she has never worked or served anyone in her young and inexperienced life.
Train her or pick someone with experience!
Or business will go away quickly!!
We were celebrating a birthday!
Use VIP deal, basically a 2 for 1. Good deal.
They also have daily specials. Pleasant place, efficient service, good food. Easy to park too.
Just wasn’t good
Food was good and turn around was fast. Only area to improve is we seemed to have lost our waitress when it came time to pay the check. So that took a bit.
A college classmate and I met there because it had a good menu and was conveniently located. The server was attentive, but not did not "hover." She knew the menu and answered our questions. Drinks were reasonably priced as were our dinners. No one tried to hurry us up as is often the case at other restaurants.
We are planning our next meeting there in the near future.
Freezer burn on desserts.
Rice was cold and dry.
Pretzel sticks/bread was dry and hard.
Pleasant atmosphere, good “pub style” food, adequate service!
I would much rather recommend the north location. The food was great - beer was awesome - however the Rosemint locations service and “cleanliness” can use a checkup!
The food was excellent! I’ve been to the all chain steakhouses in the same vicinity that tout good food, but are poor copies compared to their downtown sisters. The quality of the food at RAM is on par with the fancy places. The pricing is much more reasonable at RAM though, and it was a very comfortable, unpretentious ambiance. It was loud but not too loud. We had three teenagers and a six year old. The staff was great and didn’t make us feel alienated. I really enjoyed EVERYTHING and will be going again.
Food was pretty good but service was very spotty. Waitress would vanish for long periods and we had to ask more than once for drink refills. Ok but not jumping up and down to go back.
I was with a party of 5. Three of the party had the steaks and said they were delicious. I ordered a bbq burger onion rings and side of coleslaw. The burger was ordered well done came burnt black. The onion rings were soft and the coleslaw was HORRIBLE!! Ever person at the table tasted it and agreed. It was basically dry salad. My advice if you visit this place order yourself a steak.
RAM has been one of my favorite for many years, live near the location, this experience was terrible, AC was not working, server outstanding and food too, but when we talked to the manager he was not empathetic at all, immediately he offered a dessert , really! He should had display more caring towards his client and more client service, I was not looking for a FREE meal, I wanted more of a human touch for such a terrible dining experience.
We used to love this place. It was always our go-to when coming home from the airport. Unfortunately the service and the food have gone downhill. Our waitress had a chip on her shoulder and felt put out to take our order. The salad was not only brown but tasted like the lettuce turned. The burger was ok. The highlight was the onion rings. Unfortunately due to the poor service and decline in food quality. There are better places to go in the area.
Really disappointed this time. Took a long time to place our order and an unexpected long wait to receive our food. We ordered burgers n fries, stock off the menu with no changes and it still took much longer than you would expect. But the real surprise was when I received my change I should have been given 54 cents back and wasnt! He gave me the paper money, but not my change! A bit presumptuous I thought! So this ends our pre theater trips to the Ram. There are many other restaurants in the area that we look forward to trying!
Food and service were fine but they had multiple comments about the temperature in the restaurant (too warm) that were not addressed. Not even a crazy hot day today.
Ram has a very nice outdoor area. We had a very nice server who came to check on us numerous times. He was SO friendly and attentive! Ram has the best Ahi Poke Nachos!! I asked if they could be made without the wonton chips (low/ no carbs). The server looked a bit puzzled, but was happy to ask the kitchen. I asked for the dish to be served on a bed of spring greens. IT was absolutely delicious...probably one of the best salads I've had! My friend had chicken quesadillas and they were very good also!
They honored an OpenTable reservation - which was a good idea on a pre-theater dinner date! Quick service, large menu, lots of options. Loved my burger in lettuce leaves.... I never eat the bun!
We went here because I had been to the one by Woodfield and that one is really nice and big so I figured this one would be the same. They are not the same at all. Decor totally different, much smaller, hair in my food. Waitress was nice but got our order wrong
Our meal and appetizer were really good. We were very disappointed with the desert we ordered. It was more like a shake versus a "dirt cup" and it was missing some of the elements as described.
The food and service were great! We were a bit particular in our ordering, due to diet restrictions. Our server and the kitchen were very accommodating!
We didn’t have a good experience there.Food-nothing special. After my husband and his friend drunk 4 shoots the manager told the waiter he can’t serve them any more shoots.Really????We have been there with my friends 60 years old mom, just to talk and spend a nice time.NEVER AGAIN!!!
Went for a girls night out to celebrate a friend’s wedding. The service was slow and just average. The food was good but took forever to come out. I’d give it another try if I’m in the area again.
Appetizers arrived 2 seconds before main meal, took long time for drinks and food. Restaurant didn’t look busy at all. Sever never pre bussed our table, took dessert order and saw we were all done with our food and didn’t attempt to remove the dirty plates, brought kids dessert out and still didn’t attempt to pick up the dishes. Overall disappointing. Manager was one to pick up the dishes.
We love The Ram as our go-to spot before a concert at Allstate. Service was excellent. The food is great for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I had placed a to go order for Mac and Cheese and told them to add BURNT bacon to the order. The order came and when I got it to my house 2 miles away it was just warm and the bacon was barely cooked.
I sent an email to the restaurant to explain that if I had been there I'd have sent it back... No response..
Three days later friends wanted to go to lunch there.. I said nothing of my experience to them. The waitress was told that one of the girls had a birthday and we ordered her a birthday drink. Ordered the cheese and pretzel appetizer which was good. Asked the waitress for a spoon .. it was brought when we were finished with the dip (using a knife). One of the girls asked for the 1/2 sandwich meal and got a full sandwich. Waitress said you told me a full. (we all heard her). She reluctantly took it back and returned with the 1/2. She then came to aske if everything was ok. We said yes and she promptly left the bill.
We had planned on celebrating her birthday and splitting a dessert... but oh well... we decided to do it another night.
It was later lunch time and not crowded so not sure what the rush was...
Service for take out and in house needs work.
Our server was a bit inattentive, but then she pulled it together. Ended up as a great night.
Lunch time. Full dining room and only 2 waiters. They were over worked trying to serve too many tables. Food was great. With so many options to choose from in the Rosemont area, we will go somewhere else for lunch. However, with a wonderful selection of food and beers, we may try again for dinner and hope for better service.
Good for kids however was a bit loud and hard to hear (I was fine as my kids were noises as well).
Place need some cleaning and better food quality
Great pub-style comfort food. Could be a little cleaner (table was sticky and carpet looked a bit dirty) but not bad. Arrive between 3-6 for happy hour prices on appetizers.
Three of us had the Kale And Quinoa Salad with salmon added. The Salmon was dry and tasteless. My husband had the pork Carnitas. It was also not very good. The server was running around like crazy.. we would have to catch her on the run for water, coffee, tea. Would not recommend going here. We went here because we had gone there a couple of years earlier and it was very good. So I don’t know what has happened..but the quality is no longer there.
The person who waited on us was horrible! I use open table so I had no wait. 2 kids with us 5 & 7. Sit down comes by 10 minutes after which is fine it’s Friday! Put in drink orders - comes back 10 minutes later. Place kids orders and she says I’ll be back with 2 straws for kids drinks and to grab a beer order. 15 mins later adults order and she never asks about the beer so I’m good with unsweetened ice tea. 50 mins later never came back one to refill a drink, straws, water nothing. Food comes out - fish and chips - who tacos - cheese burger and hamburger. I ask for the pickles we ordered for the kids burgers and malt vinegar and hot sauce for the fish. She never came back - I was a fan - they closed one location by woodfield - I won’t be back to the Rosemont location.
Not very happy with our seating. I made reservations a week in advance and requested a booth for our party of 4. Arrived 10 mins early and they stick us in an empty back room at a table. I declined the table and asked that we be moved to the main dining room at a booth. This was an ordeal. The host informed me that she’d have to check with a manager where they can move us. Mind you, the main dining room was only a quarter full at this time. After about 5 mins, they put us in the main dining room at a half booth/half table set up, right next to another family. I asked why couldn’t we get a different FULL booth that I requested, since there were about 7 other booths empty. She said this was all she can do because it’s a fully booked night and she has reservations. I told her “I” had reservations as well. I didn’t want to get into an argument and just took what they gave us. This was the first time eating at the RAM and this will be our last. Not very happy with the entire situation.
My group was in town for a meeting and randomly selected Ram. I can't say enough about the service and the food was great
