Another wonderful experience! Grand Bohemian is doing an excellent job of pro a quality experience during social distancing without compromising service! We both got the filet as well as the charcuterie board and a few cocktails. Top notch service

A birthday lunch during mid week. The restaurant was not busy, so we were a little disappointed in the quality of service. We waited at least 5-7 minutes before we were approached by any service personnel. Aside from that, once we were waited on, things went smoothly. Food was delicious, didn't rush us and had a complimentary dessert. Yum!

Hotel guests in addition to made a reservation for dinner. Food was fine, mediocre in regards to value however service was subpar. Witnessed other tables receive great service, we never heard what the specials were or were offered any other options. Meal was rushed although I asked for apps to be put in then the meal order. Was not due to NC COVID-19 Executive Orders as we were done well before 9pm. Likely won’t return on our next visit.

Cool vibe. Was our favorite stop in Asheville when everything was closing early. Nice ambience. We were able to order our drinks and sit by the fire in the lobby. Chip from Staunton, VA was an excellent bartender and very attentive! We only had truffle fries for food, but they were good. You must stop here at least for a drink! Worth the 10 minute Uber out of downtown and into the Biltmore Village area.

The Red Stag Grille is more than an eclectic bohemian-style hunting lodge-chic restaurant, it is a full-blown experience of decadent decor and mouth-watering meals. We had the Elk Carpaccio and it was delectable...could eat that as an entire meal! For entrees, we had the Elk Loin and the Sunburst Trout and split a Caesar salad. All of it was exquisite, but especially the Elk Loin (served rare)...every morsel was a mouth explosion of flavors.

Rose, our server, was attentive, pleasant, had great timing, and genuinely seemed to enjoy serving us - she made us feel attended to and as though she was paying close attention. It was a lovely evening and for someone who dines at RSG often, this was one of my better experiences.

It's another must for those bringing guests from out of town - lunch is delicious there too - especially the hamburger.

We’ve gone to Red Stag for many years now and while it has a great location and the lobby and hotel are wonderful, the decor in the restaurant has not changed one single bit. It’s dark, heavy and is in dire need of a refresh and update. The taxidermy hanging up, the dark wood walls, giant nailhead furniture and (dirty) giant red branch chandeliers are just dated and need to go. We started with some drinks which were wonderful but, I’m allergic to shellfish and am a vegetarian so there just wasn’t an appetizer I could eat. We had salads which were yummy but the portions were very small and they were $15! The food was ok but it came out Luke warm and the portions were very small. It was super pricey too. However, our waiter was outstanding. He was cool, easy to talk to and we enjoyed talking with him. We also had a sweet girl named Camille, who was from Jamaica, come and talk to us for a while too. The staff there are delightful. Talking with them was our favorite part of the night. Overall, we were glad to get out of the house for the evening but wish the decor and food were better.

Terrible service (Brandon). My husband and I work at the local hospital, due to the pandemic it’s not always easy to have a date night but we felt like treating ourselves to an evening out to a nice restaurant on a Sunday evening. The server paid no attention to us. Never described the menu or made suggestion or our told us about our wine pairing. It was my husband’s first time here. The server reached across us constantly when serving. Our dessert spoons were—nicely put—thrown in front of us. After giving the check to the table next to us, which he was overly friendly with, he had become such good friends with them he’d forgotten they were leaving and almost gave them OUR dessert wines. It was just so blatantly obvious that he wasn’t paying any attention to us at that point. Our appetizers came before our cocktails. We were halfway through them when our champagne to be paired with the appetizer even arrived. He asked us how we were but would leave before we answered. It was a shame, really, for such a nice restaurant with a good reputation and an expensive menu, we expected better service. We came dressed up (suit and tie for my husband and a dress for me). We arrived on time, a few minutes early, in fact. We do not know why we were treated so poorly. The food was great, but honestly the service soured our experience. We won’t be back. The manager listened to our complaint and was kind. When you go to a nice restaurant, you expect exceptional service which meets or even exceeds the ambiance and the palette. The expense—though the food was delicious—is not worth a 50/50 chance at getting good service.

We have never stayed here before despite visiting Asheville many times. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. Perfect location if you plan to visit Biltmore.

We had such a great experience at the Red Stag Grill. I had the lamb and my husband had the duck. We split the Hunt board and a chocolate lava cake. They have a good wine menu and knowledgeable staff. We will definitely return.

Beautiful venue for a perfect date night. Delicious food and outstanding service. You won't be disappointed -- we look forward to returning soon.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary! The Lamb was delicious and came out very quick. Our server was a great help and they even gave us two glasses of champagne to celebrate. The Red Stagg has a beautiful romantic ambiance and we look forward to going back when we visit Asheville again.

Food and service were excellent! We live locally and this has become our new go -to spot.

The service was really great. Andrea was very knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu and decide what we wanted to order. The decor is beautiful. The food was good but nothing extraordinary, except for the elk carpaccio and sweet potatoes which we both LOVED. And the cocktails were good too, but not amazing. Without really having anything to complain about, we felt that food didn’t quite match the price. We had the elk steak and the lamb, which were both good, but if I were to try again, I would’ve gotten the scallops instead of the lamb. Overall a pleasant experience.

Waitress was EXCELLENT and super sweet! First time tasting elk, it was delicious. Always love the vibes in this hotel/restaurant.

Engagement dinner

The hotel and restaurant are very elegant and cozy. Great atmosphere but the food was only average and had very little flavor. I expected much more from a Kessler property!

It was our first time at the Red Stag, but not our last. The service and food were excellent. We both had the filet mignon. I like mine medium and my wife likes hers well done. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly to our preference. The waiter was super attentive without being over-bearing. The only things I didn't like was the ambient noise level with the music choice, and the spotlights above my head. The acoustics of the room were harsh, and the music was more modern, including one song that had rap in it; just not my style. I would have preferred something softer and more romantic, especially in this atmosphere. They also sat us at a table near the long bench on the side wall, and it had a row of mini spot lights that shone straight down on me, and did not seem to dim with the other house lights. The rest of the tables in our dining room did not have the spot lights. All-in-all, a very enjoyable evening and we would dine there again. I would just be sure to request a table away from that long bench.

We live local in Asheville and love going to Red Stag for Brunch. The Champagne selection is of the best if not the best in Asheville. And the food it always delicious. So far we have liked everything we have tried on the menu. The Service is usually terrific as well. Highly recommended.

We were disappointed in the quality of food and experience here. We came to Tupelo Honey today and it was amazing and a much better experience for what you pay.

Excellent choice for a special occasion. Very interesting setting and ambiance. Service is excellent. Lets just say you pay for the experience.

For New Year’s we were woefully underwhelmed. We frequent here and brought some friends that had not been and hoped for the usual high quality of food and service. The service was decent but the food was a C- at best. The trout amuse-bouche was so minuscule it was barley visible. The lamb risotto was so-so and the rabbit terrine was slightly more appetizing than spam. The duck main entre was a mere 2 and a 1/2 tiny pieces. I probably should have spoken up to the waiter, so shame on me but I was busy trying to maintain conversation and entertain. At a price of over $250 per person including wine I’m relying on the restaurant to deliver. I was embarrassed. We ordered a bunch of extras in addition to the fixed NYE menu but still ended up going elsewhere after. There is no question we will not return here again for New Year’s and will have to consider if/when to return.

Disappointing meal. We had the 5 course chef's menu on New Year's Eve. The foie gras was overwhelmed by the fruit compote it was served with. The lobster bisque was over salted. The wrapping on the duck confit was overly dry. My wife did completely enjoy the filet mignon.

The Filet I ordered with my Iceberg wedge salad was awesome. So tender. Our server Brian was fantastic, we never had to wait and he was very courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The atmosphere was spectacular. Warm, quiet, rich. We are from Wisconsin and are very familiar with the German-style decor. We loved it. The food was very good. Prepared perfectly. The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and easy to talk to.

Wow! I am so glad that we decided to dine at this restaurant. This was one of the best dining experiences that we have had. The ambiance was great and the food was delicious. The service was in point. Please take the time to check the restaurant out for yourself.
