Absolutely incredible time for my boyfriends birthday. Our server Roxanne made the evening—she was kind, personable, let us go at our own pace and dealt with several different cards (as friends and family had called in surprises.)
We will definitely be back!
Bar was very slow at getting our drinks. We waited 15-20 minutes before getting our drinks served at our table.
My husband and I went on a Wednesday evening at 6:45 pm. We were seated on an outdoor porch with a view of the pool and the mountains beyond. The view was lovely but the chairs were so low that the table came to about rib height to the bare, round metal table, not comfortable for eating. The lighting was poor and there were no table lights for ambiance. The piped in music veered from hard rock to cheesy dribble. Our server mumbled behind her mask. She didn't know which Chardonnay was more oak tasting. When my wine came, small black bugs flew around it so I covered it with my face mask. The Ricotta Dip was rather tasteless but the accompanying grilled focaccia bread was good. I asked for Tempeh, which was on the menu, as an Addition to my Pumpkin Salad but they were out. How can you be out of Tempeh? And, why didn't the server know beforehand and tell us when she gave us the menus? The menu was very short so she should have known what they had and didn't have. We finished our appetizers and our main courses came before the plates were cleared. There was an awkward moment while the server stood there with our plates in hand while she perhaps willed our dirty dishes to disappear. No one else came to her aid. We had mushroom risotto with chicken added and trout which were good. While we were eating, an unidentified person stopped at our table and asked us how our meal was. While I think she might have been the manager, she didn't introduce herself. Odd. So, we were not impressed and probably won't be back.
If you want to feel like you are dining in Tuscany al fresco this is the place. We really enjoyed it!
We couldn’t get a table for dinner so we went for lunch. We checked out the website and saw it had a beautiful view. The menu for lunch offered ossa bucco. When I asked for ossa bucco, they said it’s not on their brunch menu. The view was of an under construction pool and a huge tower. Shrimp and grits was ok, but the shrimp were tiny. Not really worth the drive or money.
The place is located very nicely in country side with beautiful views of the mountains. I had read many times how great this place was and unfortunately was little disappointing. Food was OK, not really out of the ordinary. The Osso Bucco was the only dish really good. Small plates, like the clams and chorizo, taste was not bad but the chorizo was more like salami, and every thing in a deep broth with onions that seemed like a soup dish but wasn’t ??? with no bread accompanying or any way how to really eat it. Fancy name for a breaded Chichen breast over spaghetti with tomato sauce, not bad but again not wow. Maybe go again, different season, most likely for the views.
Enjoyed the pumpkin salad. The trout piccata was excellent so was the apple pie. Very nice birthday dinner. Pretty setting!
Great experience with great friends. Lots of outdoor eating with heat lamps so you can feel very safe going here.
It was a lovely escape. Some of our dishes were fantastic and others were good. They must have had an issue in the kitchen because our food took over an hour to arrive. Everyone was kind. All in all, it was just what us city folk needed, a beautiful night enjoying good food and beautiful scenery.
Haven’t been here in awhile partly because of COVID-19. The menu has changed, but the four of us were very pleased with what we got. The trout was very good, as was the sausage and peppers. The fried chicken was very good, but more like a chicken cutlet than traditional fried chicken. The ricotta dip ax an appetizer was good but the dip was rather light for the bread that came with it. Drinks were well-made, apple pie dessert was quite tasty and large enough for two to split. We requested outdoor seating and it worked well.
Service was bad. Food was average
Food was amazing. Our server was great. Will definitely be returning again soon
Very romantic and beautiful location. The food was very good and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place.
Restaurant 17 is a hidden gem in the foodie town of Greenville. Excellent flavors and the ambience will have you wanting to come back for more. 10/10!
Excellent food and atmosphere. The mountain views ad the sunsets made it a perfect evening as we celebrated our 21st anniversary.
Perfect view, delicious food!
Haven't been to Restaurant 17 in a long time and am glad to give it a try again. Will be back.
The small plates and salads were great. The entrees unfortunately were not good. The steak was just awful-tough and barely could cut it. It was cooked appropriately (medium) but just a bad cut of meat. The chicken my sister had was way over sauced to the point she couldn’t eat it. The trout was good though. Beautiful place.
This trip was really one of our best! The food was all amazing! Never went without a drink! Great job!!!
If you want to feel like you took a trip to the mountains but only drove about 30 minutes from downtown Greenville, have lunch or dinner at Restaurant 17. Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy great food with an amazing view. After dinner, grab a glass of wine and sit outside in the cool air and just soak up the scenery. Great way to spend a Saturday.
Always delicious food in a beautiful setting!
The food was good but not as wonderful as anticipated. Service was slow and not as attentive or professional as expected from the price point of the restaurant.
Excellent lunch. The service was impeccable and the food was perfect. I had the roast been dip and the bun was honestly the most perfectly prepared bun I have ever had. I never knew what a difference that could make. One of my best lunches ever!
Our party enjoyed our out door dining with beautiful mountains views and good brunch menu. Our server Hannah, was very attentive and wore a face mask at all time as did other staff.
It's so good we ate at Table 17 twice on our stay to the area. Great ambiance, cocktails, and food.
Breakfast date. Beautiful dining and brunch experience. COVID Safe - outdoor with mask wearing staff.
Food was outstanding as usual and service great. we look forward to your fall menu.
The food is solid, but the views are exquisite
Service was very poor. Paid way too much money for a fancy cheeseburger and burned chicken parm. Did a “bartenders choice” for a cocktail, and was made a cosmopolitan, but was charged full price for almost double the worth. Have heard such great things but was very disappointed.
Great ambience, outside sitting was spectacular, food was fresh and tasted amazing, I almost ordered every plate, prices are very reasonable for the service and food experience.
Very scenic and romantic for anniversaries
Food was great, the service was a little slow but we will be back
First time here...absolutely wonderful! Food and service could not have been better. Best money I have spent on dinning in a long time
The brunch menu is fantastic. We always enjoy dining here and the setting is second to none
Our dinner date with our dad's before prom was our favorite part of the night. The outdoor seating area was a little sunny but overall provided a beautiful spot to eat and take pictures.
A perfect setting nestled in the foothills. The meal was fantastic!!
Excellent charcuterie platter! Service and food outstanding! Highly recommend
Father's Day brunch. Bare tables in a plain room with windows overlooking the seating area for the pool. Perhaps there is a proper dining room for dinners... Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was forgetful. We may try again for dinner. The location is lovely.
The lunch/brunch menu is excellent and reasonably priced and the view is fantastic
Loved the food and atmosphere! We will definitely come back again and stay for the weekend. The pool looked amazing and so inviting.
