The Lemp Mansion
The Lemp Mansion's historicity makes it an attractive place. The food was better than average, but not exceptional.......choice of one vegetable? no salads with dinner? tip automatically added for 4 people, when we had been previously informed that tip would be added for groups of 5 or more ? (This resulted in a 50% tip being left, which was corrected after a phone call.) We had informed the restaurant in advance that this was a special occasion with an official from out-of-town and we would appreciate a table where he could appreciate the decor, etc., of the place. We were in the farthest back room, at a table in the farthest dark corner--O.K., but not memorable.
Our waiter Mark was awesome and very responsive. Food was great as usual.
We had a "Ladies Lunch" for 8 for 4 generations of family with ages ranging from 14 mos to 91. We had mostly salads and sandwiches, and chicken tenders for the toddler. All of us enjoyed the food and the unique setting. Our server Xavier was superb. It was a lovely afternoon.
Even though we had reservations, still had to wait 30 minutes, which is understandable, waited in the bar area and the bartender was great, friendly and entertaining. After being seated waited an additional 10 minutes to be greeted by our waiter and drinks orders taken. Received food the only thing that was hot was the chicken everything else was barely warm. Was asked if we wanted refills, and we said yes told them on what we wanted refills on and had to make the request 3 times before we got them, a told wait time of 25 minutes.
Our server was very good but while we were there our server and another server were yelled at in front of customers, this was completely uncalled for.
As long as Lemp Mansion has been serving the Sunday chicken dinners I would of thought that everything would be running smoothly.
We had a great family style dinner on Sunday. The food was delicious.
We booked online for dinner theater, but were told our reservations were for dinner only. It was for a very special birthday dinner with 7 other guests. It was extremely inconvenient an they were not accommodating. We had appetizers and drinks while we planned our evening. Tr he host was pleasant once we were there but overall we were disappointed that we didn't get offered Anything for our inconvenience...and were basically just dismissed. It was frustrating but we dealt with the situation enjoyed our drinks, the appetizers were delicious. My husband and I would like to try again...but we are not sure yet.
The atmosphere and food were amazing. The server was absolutely horrible. He treated the other employees terribly and his customer service was atrocious. It’s a shame that one person has the potential to ruin the entire experience. Fortunately for us we did not let him ruin our special night together.
the best, did I say best, I meant to say best toasted ravioli on the planet
The waiter (Mark) eas very attentive and had a great since of humor. We had an amazing experience at the Mansion. we are planning to return soon.
Fantastic lunch. A classy place. We will return many times.
Birthday lunch. The food was excellent and the waiter couldn’t have been nicer. The prime rib lunch special is great
Very good service in a setting with old world charm. The food is average to good but the service and setting make it a lovely dining experience. Fun place to visit for a break from the usual and certainly better atmosphere from local chain restaurants.
Matt was our waiter and was outstanding!!
Food and service were excellent as always!! One of our favorite places
Food was amazing. Atmosphere is so unique it can't be replicated
Food was absolutely delicious. Dinner salad, Steak Diane Chicken Lamar and Szechwan Penne with Chicken was amazing. Looking forward to returning for brunch and to try additional entrees.
Appreciated the ambiance.
I would have given five stars, but our waiter was less than desire-able. His condescending attitude put a damper in the dinner.
Was not concerned nor educated about our gluten concerns
Will definitely go again, will be sure to ask for a different waiter. Hats off to the chef and the pleasant young lady who kept our glasses full.
As always, the food and service were excellent at Lemp Mansion. Lemp Mansion is one of my favorite restaurants.
Great service great people and awesome food will definitely will go back again
We went to the Sunday family style meal.
It was okay
Absolutely in love with the Lemp Mansion!! Highly recommend going!
Restaurant was amazing and Mark is an outstanding waiter! They even gave us a piece of cheesecake with a candle on it for our anniversary! What a wonderful touch! Best experience ever!
Father’s Day. Overall experience was good. Good was as expected and Value was also good. Service was just ok. Friendly enough but took untionwe were each done with our first food plates for our wine to arrive at the table, which was a quite disappointing. Would have probably had 4 bottles rather than 2 had we been able to drink it before or even with our dinner rather having to wait until being nearly finished to start it.
Overall , Service was a little slow. The service staff had a hard time remembering our requests between visits so we ended up having to ask for some things several times.
Great Sunday all you can eat fried chicken dinner
Very family style presentation
Food was tasty- Service was excellent-but my food wasnt hot it was warm.
The food was ok. Service was ok. Atmosphere was ok. Overall, an OK experience. I would not recommend to my friends.
It’s was a great time food was good the biscuits were hard every time they brought us some but everyone was very nice
The food was fantastic!! The staff is very attentive and do a wonderful job making the dining experience very memorable. Lovely restuarant & we will for sure be returning.
Loved it the ambience was great one the feeling of the whole place. Will be back again for sure!!
Everything was fantastic! Our waiter was friendly and attentive but not overbearing! The food was absolutely delicious! I had the chicken alfredo and it was the best alfredo I've ever had! The Lemp Mansion is absolutely beautiful! And it's a very peaceful setting. Even the bathroom was beautiful. Lol. Everything was very clean. The pricing was about average for a sit down restaurant.
First time at the Lemp Mansion and we thoroughly enjoyed it and the food was amazing
We enjoyed our lunch here the service was outstanding and the food was delicious!!! I can’t wait to eat here again!!
Went here for the first time over the weekend. It was very enjoyable. The food was great and our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Very neat and historic decor. Will definitely be going back
We made our reservation through Open Table. The restaurant closes at 8:00 on Sundays, so we made the reservation for 6:45.
Note: There were reservations available as late as 7:45.
As soon as our food came out, we immediately felt rushed. Every 3-4 minutes, someone was coming by to ask what they could take away, are you finished with that, is there ANYTHING else I can bring you... All the while we could hear vacuum sweepers going on in surrounding dining rooms. Clearly they were ready to get us out of there after fulfilling their obligation to see if we needed anything else. Twice while I still had food on my plate with utensils in my hand and chewing, someone came by to ask if they could take my plate!
If you’re going to close at 8:00 and want to be done and out the door by 8, don’t take reservations past 6 or 6:30. The food was mediocre at best, and the service we got with all the rushing will keep me away from here again.
Also, there was a private event outside on the mansion property for what looked to be a graduation party with music booming so loud that the glass was rattling in the mansion windows. That was annoying and unacceptable for the type of dining experience you promote here. The party was on your property, so it’s your responsibility to your other guests to not ruin their experience. Thank goodness we didn’t rent rooms here! If I lived across the street in one of those houses, I would be on the phone to you and the police non-stop until that party was broken up.
I haven’t been here to eat for at least 15 years because I don’t remember my last experience being all that great, so I thought we would give it another try. But after this experience it will likely be another 15 years before I bring 5 out-of-town friends with me again, if you’re still even open...
6 years ago I partook in a ghost tour at the Lemp mansion, it was awesome !!! I loved it and I couldn’t wait to come back. Well 6 years later and a two hour drive I decided to take my wife on a nice date to the Lemp mansion. When we arrived to our parking spot we could hear really loud rap music like it was a club my wife and I said there is no way that’s the restaurant we thought it was some house party it was only 6:15pm. As we walked towards the mansion we discovered there was a huge Party going on at the side of the mansion. We got to our table and all we could hear was loud rap music we couldn’t even hear each other talk.
How do they expect for me to pay the high priced food when I can even sit in peace with my wife it was like we were in a club or bar having our date. We ended up leaving and going to Lewis and Clark’s On Main Street, St Charles Mo.
The mansion could have let me know there was a outside party going on once I made the reservation, I guess there money maker is that side lot and not there restaurant.
I’m greatly disappointed with the outcome
Delightful fine dining experience in a very historic setting. The food was superb. The staff was helpful and terrific.
Nice lunch at the historic setting.
Bus boys shirt could be washed once in a while to make a better appearance.
Mother’s Day Sunday dinner I believe we were over charged. Which I did not realize until later. We were charged $113 for three Sunday dinners. Should have been $17.95 each. I hope we can receive a credit when I call to follow up. The porters were excellent which was the high spot. Food was mediocre st best.
Mansion located in quiet neighborhood on residential atreet, pasta with fresh mushrooms & diced tomatoes drenched in oive oil could have been better with less olive oil, could smell cigarette smoke inside reason for not staying for dessert
Enjoyed the food and like the atmosphere . My husband had steak Diane which I tried and was amazing. I had the fried shrimp and enjoy that as well . Definitely recommend
Excellent lunch. Great service. Good food. Wonderful ambience. Quick delivery of meal. Very surprised to see such a sparse crowd. It's a bit pricey for lunch everyday..about $15-18 for lunch total, but excellent food appropriate to that total. Definitely making it a go to on my list
