We went for a birthday dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. The people the atmosphere were exceptional. But you cannot expect anything less from Marcus Davis.
Great experience we will be back.
great as always, tried the fried chicken this time and it was fantastic. went well with the seasonal lemonade.
My wife and I have passed by Kulture several times over the past year Each time we commented about making a reservation. Finally did it and were absolutely delighted! Wonderful, warm welcome as we entered the restaurant. The menu has a nice range of starters, salads, mains, sides and shared plates. Plus there's a good variety of champagnes, wines, cocktails and beers to choose from on the beverage menu. The mains and shared plates were all visually pleasing and mouth watering treats. Each had just the right touch of spice to tingle the tongue and compliment the other flavors in the dishes. I'm not a fan of bread pudding; however, I was blown away by the Kulture's version of this dessert. Service was perfect as was the pace of each course. A gem of a place that we'll be returning to the next time we're downtown.
Excellent food and menu and service. Lovely place.
The food, drinks and the staff were exceptional. I'll definitely be back and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who comes to Houston!!!!
Great place. Great food. Great vibe. The only issue was the acoustics when band performed. It was difficult to hold a conversation with my guest. Other than that, I enjoyed Kulture.
This place was such a great choice! I loved my food & drinks. I wish it wasn’t so loud at times but the singer was flawless! She’s very professional. The service was excellent. I will definitely visit again.
everything from presentation to flavor is top notch. my fav brunch place in houston.
Black owned, great food, service, ambiance and location. Friday nights have live music.
Took my wife here for bday brunch!! It was absolutely great! It was an amazing vibe and I love the black culture!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
Everything we tried was amazing.. collard green pockets.. black eyed pea hummus.. mac n cheese.. meatloaf meatballs.. yams.. cornbread.. and the riblets! Even my peach mimosa was great! Definitely going back!
My favorite brunch place in downtown Houston. Literally every dish tastes as good as it looks.
Came for my mother’s birthday and the food was delicious.
A really fun experience; the cocktails, the band, the plate presentation!
Fantastic brunch spot. Good ambiance, clean and superb food.
Excellent food and drink - live jazz trio was the cherry on top!
This is a great afternoon and lunchtime spot. The food had a great twist on traditional soul food. I could come here weekly and still be surprised by the flavors of this place.
Second trip to Kulture and loved it even more the second time! Go, you won’t be disappointed.
Kulture has an excellent atmosphere, good drinks and great service. The food has quite a unique taste. If you like trying new cuisines I would definitely recommend this place.
Great local find. Really good brunch at a hip ambiance.
My lady and I really enjoyed ourselves. The food was good but the devil eggs need a little work.
Joe Carmouche and his trio were great.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everyone was very nice. My waiter gave us good advice on what to eat since this was our first time. My only problem was it was so dang slow. It was a Tuesday and it wasn't crowded. It took us 2 and 1/2 hours to finish the night.
Food was just ok. Riblets were tiny and dry. Collard green purses and okra were good. Food took entirely too long to be served and came out one item at a time with too much time in between. Bar staff did the best they could as servers. Restaurant was clearly understaffed and unprepared for the large crowd. Would still try it again. Concept of the restaurant is great.
Our server was not very attentive and the food was not as good as I expected. But the atmosphere and the family vibe between the hostesses and the manger staff was wonderful to see!
This was not our first time at Kulture and since our first experience was so great, we were anxious to return. The waitress was very sweet but it took a very long time to get our food and then when we got it, it was not hot - it was as if the dishes had been sitting for a while - the johnny cakes and cabbage were lukewarm. I would not recommend the fried fish - it was pretty good but we had to carefully pick out all the bones and I was shocked to see it was $55 - I should have asked the market price before ordering so that was my fault. Thankfully the dessert (bread pudding) was excellent. One of our small plate appetizers was forgotten. Our dinner took so long, we had to pay $6 to get out of the garage even though our ticket was validated for 2 hours.
This was my third time dining at Kulture. A visiting cousin from out-of-state and I immersed ourselves in the Kulture culture. He ordered the whole snapper & Johnny Cakes and I had the House Salad along with the salivating Black Eye Pea Hummus served with Akara. It was mouth watering. The atmosphere was tranquil, juxtaposed the Downtown Houston skyline and Discovery Green creating a living canvas that vibed so well with our experience. Though kind of pricy, it was still worth it all. And yes, I will return.
Excellent service. Servers gave good recommendations for goofy items. O my problem was I needed a nap after I because I was so full
Loved everything about it.... the ambiance was welcoming.. the staff was friendly and attentive... the food was delicious and the drinks were oh so good... Went there for brunch with my girlfriend.. We’ll definitely be back..
I finally got to try this place for the first time for lunch and really liked the food. The menu for the main entrees was very limited and hoped there was more to choose from. It’s a bit pricey too but I guess coz of it’s location. We Ordered the Oxtail and the Fried crispy fish and they were both excellent. We also ordered the Mac & Cheese which was very good and tasty but the cheese sauce made it too salty. Ordered the bread pudding but it came out still cold so the Manager comped it and ordered us a new batch. Overall it’s a good dining experience.
I love the restaurant the food and the ambience was very nice. However the food was great but i got sick during the night. My friend had the same exact food she also got sick.
Promptly seated directly in front of three piece jazz ensemble. Music was good, but if we had wanted a quiet, relaxed dining experience, we would have been disappointed. Collum was a tremendous server, and the food was on point! Drinks were well-mixed and of high quality. Truly enjoyed our little outing with Kulture. It is wonderful, southern-inspired dining experience worth the time and money.
Wow! I loved every aspect of our evening here. Upon arrival there was a live band and we were quickly seated. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was great! We will be back soon.
Had a great time
Great experience at Kulture. The food was delicious and the ambiance was amazing.I also loved the symbolism behind all of the carefully crafted dishes.I will definitely be back.
This place is AMAZING! The food is delicious, the service was great, and the live music made the place come alive! We will be coming back often!!
I'm so proud of this sophisticated, well run, beautifully designed, exceptionally located black owned restaurant. The food is delicious and healthy, the ambiance is great for date night and the service is warm and helpful.
A friend and I went to Kulture this past Saturday it was an amazing experience. I love the location, ambiance, and the food. Literally Black Excellence everyone was dressed so nice and definitely a great place to go for date night.
Excellent food and superb service. Bonus live music!
This was a great choice for me and my coworkers as we were in Houston from Atlanta for a work event. We shared several small plates and two desserts. Everything was wonderful.
The food is very good. We had fried okra, collard dip with rice fritters, Johnny cakes, riblets, beet salad, pork and bean entree. The bread pudding was excellent.
My only complaint is the live jazz music is so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. We were there at 7pm which I felt like it was too early to have the band playing loudly. If it was soft background music that would have been good. At 10pm I would understand the band being loud as the transition from restaurant to bar. This would be the only reason why I wouldn’t go back. I want to be able to talk with people at my table.
