We went with friends at the end of Restaurant Week. We had a lot of long-time favorite dishes, and a few new ones. Of the new ones, the crispy Brussels sprouts were the biggest hit of the night.

We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and it was our first time at Jaleo. We had the lunch for winter restaurant week ABD we also ordered a couple dishes out of the regular menu. The food quality was wonderful and the combination of ingredients wonderful. Services was attentive and personal. We love the atmosphere as well. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend and looking forward to go back.

THIS WAS A disappointing visit to Jaleo. We had 7 different dishes and only the shrimp and the flans were very tasty. This was a disappointing meal. On the basis of the last visit, I would take Jaleo off my recommended list.

Terrible food, total waste of money. The salmon wasn’t even seasoned with anything it might as well have just been boiled. I’m not usually one to write reviews but this was a very disappointing experience especially from a José andres restaurant.

We ordered one of the tasting menus (the Experience). The food was delicious. But what we really appreciated was that we told our server that we needed to be done in time for the Caps game ... and everything was timed perfectly for us to enjoy dinner, not be rushed, and still make it to the game in time.

Very slow service and server didn’t log one item for order. She didn’t come by very often so by the time we realized we didn’t have enough time to put the new order in.

We love just love the Ukrainian Salad as well as the Spinach with Pine Nuts. Double orders of each, notwithstanding the amount of food we’d already ordered! Around 5 pm though, the music volume went up exponentially. We couldn’t hear each other, across from one another at a small table for two! Our request to lower the volume was acknowledged, but went unheeded. That was the one blight, otherwise, Jaleo continues to be a favorite.

We loved Jaleo!!! Our 2nd visit. The food & drinks were superb, our server, Aldo, was very friendly, he took time to give us great suggestions & came to the table several times to make sure we were enjoying our meal . We love José Andrés restaurants. We will be back !! Thank you

The food was delicious. Bruce was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions. He was so friendly. The rest of the staff were also attentive.

Probably one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in DC. The food and atmosphere was both pretentious and unenjoyable. The fried appetizers can out lukewarm, and did not have a lot of flavor. The paella was awful. The meat was bone dry and had no flavor, and the paella, as someone who loves salt, was almost too salty to eat. The sangria and cured meat was the best thing of our dinner, but it definitely wasn’t worth the price. The service was slow and the constant trackless attempts by the server to up-sell wasn’t enjoyable. I’d save your money and try one of the many other Spanish restaurants in the district.

The food as always was delicious. The Cava sangria not really my thing. Definitely a place to enjoy a good meal. Of course any restaurant of Jose Andres deserves support for the work he does helping others.

How can you go wrong at a Jose Andres restaurant!? I'm sure other reviews will touch on excellence of food and service. I want to commend them for satisfying my request to be seated in a quiet area. They have a table in a secluded area with cloth walls. Perfect!!

A poor rating for the pure horrible interaction with the host and manager. Showed up for our reservation and was told a table wasn't ready yet, I get it, bustling Saturday night, asked when they thought, gave no answer, said wait in bar or they could call us. Meantime saw several open tables, asked about those, said they were for other people who have waited. Half hour over our rezy time, decided to go outside and wait for the call. It never came. We had already decided to eat elsewhere, so no big deal, but I was hoping for the call so I could say no thank you. It's a shame the customer service was so bad, cause last time we were in DC we had a great time at Jaleo. BONUS , they still gave us 100 points on open table for completing our reservation.

In a word: dated. Crowded, with chain like feeling. Service is good and several ingredients still have appeal. We ate all we could order with 6 people and everyone was underwhelmed. The iberico ham and the gambas were still on point. We won’t be back soon.
