Vigilucci's Trattoria Italiana
Dinner with friends
Parking a little challenge (valet available) and a little noisy, but both worth it. Excellent food and service. 5 of us and we all loved our meals.
We love their back patio, very quiet and quaint. Service is always excellent, and great food. Our 'go to' space fro special events or a quiet dinner.
My husband and I both love this restaurant- the service is always outstanding, excellent italian food ( I am italian and particular about italian food) and we love the ambiance. It can be a special occasion or just a light appetizer for us. Both reasons are good reasons to visit:)
Our server was great and so was the food. Our seating is the only thing I was not too happy with. The table was in a higher traffic area.
It was noisy because we sat outside on the busy road. Staff was wonderful as was the food!
Food was terrible, service was terrible. Worst Chicken Parm and Fettuccine Alfredo I’ve ever tasted. Kid’s cheese pizza made me gag. Only good food was pepperoni pizza. Waitress stopped by the table only once to get our order and once to get our check and that was it even though the restaurant was almost dead. One star (would give zero if possible) on everything except ambiance.
We celebrated our daughter’s birthday the other night. The food was delicious and the staff did an amazing job of making our daughter feel special.
This restaurant is easily one of our favorite “go to” spots for Italian.
Way too much noise in the restaurant and unable to have a conversation with my wife. I would love to have heard the piano player but the acoustics were terrible with too much sound coming the bar and the ceilings do not absorb the sound. Last time we were there we were in the back room behind the restaurant and that was much better.
We were fortunate to easily get a Saturday night reservation @7:30, at late notice. Grateful for that. The interior of the restaurant was very loud, and we were moved out front, where we could hear each other talk. the calamari was excellent. The Seafood pasta was OK. Very heavy sauce. I should have asked for a wine/garlic preparation, rather than tomato/pesto. Lots of seafood, tho. Good service
Our waitress gave us the wrong wine, but food was very good.
We have been to the Vigilucci’s steakhouse and have always loved it. We wanted a good Italian restaurant and this was the first time to this Vigilucci’s and we were so impressed! The piano is amazing and sets the mood for such an elegant dining experience but without a stuffy feel. The food was delicious everything from the appetizers to the entrees and then our server brought us a crem bruele for my birthday with a birthday card! I was so touched and thought it was such a sweet gesture! We will be coming back all the time to this Vigilucci’s no doubt! Thank you for a wonderful evening and experience!
We celebrated our anniversary and we enjoyed ourselves immensely! We sat out on the downstairs patio, which made us feel as if we were in Tuscany. Our server, Giulia, was friendly and had great recommendations. We shared the caprese salad with prosciutto, which was delicious. My spinach, mushroom, and ricotta calzone was twice the size that I expected, and a gastronomical delight. I had a glass of the Ferrari Carrano Merlot that paired well with the food.
Best of all, we received a hand signed Happy Anniversary card signed by all the staff and a complimentary anniversary creme brulee. Wow! We're looking forward to going back for one of their prix fixe Monday date nights! Ciao!
Fabulous food - generous portions - authentic - great wines and cocktails.
What a find.
Our dinner experience was exceptionally wonderful. Not only was the food delicious, but we added 4 more people to our reservation. The restaurant was very accommodating and our service was amazing. The pouring of wine by our female server was gracefully done and the entire staff was so efficient. We were in a very private area and perfect for our party. Plus several people split their caeser salads and it was brought out on two plates with no problem. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the evening.
Great all around as always!
8 of us never again at this location.
Food was not good. Artichoke hearts prepared and tasted much different than Carlsbad Village location.
Pasta was not cooked long enough as it was hard and chicken dishes over cooked.
We will not go back to this location.
Overall very nice. Waitstaff was good but disappeared for long stretches of time. Pasta dish was quite good . Salad was ordinary.
Another fantastic dinner at Vigiluccis! Cocktail followed by Caesar salad and an amazing Veal Saltibocca. Dessert? Naturally: Chocolate with ice cream and fresh berries. As always, Giacomo, Andrea and Matteo were top notch pros that make everyone feel special. Can't wait to go back!
Our server Matteo was lots of fun and well informed about the menu.
Initially wanted to place a large group by the piano player and singer. Declined because of noise level.
Escorted downstairs to a private room which was lovely. Waiter not very attentive. Food just ok except for appetizers.
This is a family favorite. Love this place. Authentic Italian. The GENOVESE pasta is an absolute fave. It’s amazing as are their calzones. Not a fan of the lasagna ironically. Has almost a bechamel sauce and isn’t the traditional lasagna I love but every other dish I’ve ever had is amazing!
Decided to take my husband here for Fathers Day. We were so thrilled they offered a Brunch menu. It was awesome! My husband was ver happy!
Wonderful food with quiet atmosphere and no rush to leave
I have been a diner at Vigilucci’s since back when it was Robbie’s. I liked the feel of the restaurant better back then. They’ve remodeled and possibly find that justification for increasing their prices so much. I was the only one in our party that enjoyed their meal. My daughter ordered a risotto that was just ok. It was one of the “specials” of the day and was $40. Not exactly “Special “ in my book. My daughter loves Italian food and picked this restaurant for her graduation dinner celebration.
We were underwhelmed and disappointed.
Our family celebrated a high school graduation here and we couldn’t have been more pleased. everything we ordered was delicious. The portions are hearty. The service was amazing. We are looking forward to returning soon!
Great evening as always!
Alexis was amazing. My mom can be a bit difficult at times and Alexis did an amazing job winning her over. Food was memorable and the musician even played my favorite song. Overall amazing!
Food tasted great and our server Mattel was very friendly. We will be back for more.
Brought out the wrong meal. By the time it was fixed, my whole family was done eating. Unfriendly waiter. Wait staff had to be asked multiple times for the same item.
We go to Vigilucci's all of the time, average of once every four to six weeks. Normally, we enjoy our meal immensely. On this particular visit, our food was good but not spectacular. We tried some different dishes that weren't our favorite. The hat shaped pasta was overstuffed with short rib filling (new menu item). On the halibut special, the fish was a little overcooked. The pappardalle pasta with scallops had an underwhelming sauce. We did sub out shrimp for scallops and maybe that changed the flavor of the dish. We ordered the trenette pasta without pine nuts and the kitchen served it up with pine nuts.
Service was very friendly but it was slow. In all fairness, this seemed to be a busier night for them. To make up for it, they comped desserts for us which was really nice. We'll be back for sure but I think we'll stick to the regular menu items (pastas, pizzas, ozzo bucco and chicken parm).
The live music was fun and our server Matteo gave us the best service we have ever had.
My husband and I have made this restaurant a usual rotation for date nights and special occasions because their food and service is so consistent. We especially enjoy the service of Alexis and Blake (if we’re sitting closer to the piano) and Carmela (if we want a more intimate spot away from the piano). We especially like coming to listen to the pianist who sings and has a varied repertoire.
We love their bread, salad, calamari and pastas. I always like to listen to their specials as well—I typically end up ordering a risotto special because it’s always very good. The breading on their fried calamari and rock shrimp is like no other. Often when I order this dish at other restaurants it is bland but at Vigilucci’s it is flavorful and savory. Also, their meatballs are probably the best I’ve ever had. They are seasoned and cooked perfectly.
The desserts here are also quite yummy. My husband’s favorite is the affogato, which he typically eats most of because I’m always so full from the sizable portions of food. I’d even recommend splitting an entree, especially if you’re going to have bread, an appetizer and salad. There’s more than enough food to share.
For those who like a variety of alcoholic beverages, they have a good wine list and serve up a mean martini with hand-stuffed bleu cheese olives which are so tasty.
Took an hour and a half to get served. “Kitchen had a meltdown “ according to the server. Many tables left without ever getting food.
We went for Mother's Day. It was not overly crowded. Service was good and the food was very good. I like that we were not limited to the abbreviated holiday menu. And they had a children's menu too. The only down side to this place is the fact the it's right on PCH. Overall a great experience.
Went for Mother's Day brunch. The Benedict de mare was excellent as was the carciofe. Carmela gave us great service. Graci.
Amazing food as always!! Great bar and dining room, friendly staff.
We shared the cioppino, a very large portion of mixed seafood in a delicious tomato broth. Really excellent!
Food was outstanding, service was great, location is awesome!
