We had our last wonderful meal at Europa's Saturday night. We are going to miss this place!
Really too bad but Saturday is their last day. We didn't know when we showed up and I wouldn't have gone if I knew. They ran out of bread, service was spotty, lots of regulars apparently showed up because it was packed when we got there. Bar was also lacking lots of alcohol and ingredients- couldn't make a simple apple martini. It only lasted 19 months which is too bad.
quiet and nice ambiance, food were delicious .
love the pastry and all the dishes on the menu
The food and service were outstanding as usual. The duck breast was especially memorable. We were so sorry to learn that this wonderful restaurant will close on April 30, a real loss to the NOVA dining scene.
This little gem has become our favorite place to dine in the Herndon area. The food is very good thanks to the creativity of an excellent chef - oh what he can do with a lamb chop! The ambiance is delightful - pleasing decor, tables spaced to allow for intimate conversations, soft music and candlelight - and staff who are thoughtful, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. We are so sorry that this little restaurant will be closing soon - such a loss for our little town.
Had a wonderful lunch here with a friend. I had the grilled Calamari and the crab and avocado salad - delicious. My friend had the shrimp appetizer and the greens and goat cheese salad. She loved hers. I have never been disappointed with any meal from Europa.
Outstanding service, great ambience and delicious food.
Europa was par excellent!!! Food and service both magnificent. What an upscale menu: Escargot , frog legs, great choices
I wish we had found Europa sooner. We had an outstanding experience !
One of the best restaurant in the entire DMV region and it is going our to business. This was our cheers. Everything about it is a gem, Great staff Great food Great atmosphere. It will hard to replace
Great restaurant! The service was wonderful, from the time we entered and were greeted, to the waiters, waitresses, bus boys, eic. The food was delicious. We had sea bass, veal parmesan, and beef stroganoff. The veal was not on the menu, but my husband requested it when he saw they offered chicken parm and veal scallopini. They were happy to make it. It was the best veal parmesan he's ever had. The dessert selection was hard to choose from, but we finally settled on tiramisu. Delicious! We can't wait to return!
My husband & I found this restaurant years ago. I changed locations and names and is now Europa. The food is generous and delicious, a delight for the eyes and the taste-buds. Attention to detail in every aspect of this establishment is enjoyed from the greeting, seating, wait staff and management. Many delicious offerings on the menu and a large wine list to accompany the divine dining experience! Highly recommended.
We love this restaurant. The food is phenomenal, the service is outstanding and the ambiance is really nice. I am so sad that it will be closing... I wish we'd gone there more often.
We had four adults and a picky child for granddad's birthday. The child was nicely accommodated, and the food was good to very good. Worthy of mention was the calves liver, seared, silky, and fresh. The corkage fee was reasonable and the wine well handled.
We eat here often. I like the white tablecloths and the spot on service. The food is always excellent. I really like the paella. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly w/o being obtrusive. It is never noisy, even when the restaurant is full.
My husband and I loved the restaurant when it was in Reston and really like the new space. Same great food and service. An excellent date night restaurant!
It was as always as good as the first time! I hope it continues the same forever.
Great service - great food - great place for a business luncheon or lunch with a friend - quiet, peaceful -- just enough fuss to let you know your business is appreciated! Will return!
Europa (formerly El Manatial in Reston) is one of our top favorite restaurants. Food and service is always excellent. This was the first time my wife DIDN'T order off of the tapas menu, opting instead for a full entree, and she loved it. If you are in the Herndon area, do yourself a favor and stop in for a bite or two. BRAVO!
Europa is one of the best restaurants in the area. Food is equal to very upscale restaurants at more reasonable prices. Staff is fantastic!
The Wine Dinner was fabulous, as usual! Everything, starting with the Spanish canapés, followed by the lobster bisque, veal medallions, duck breast, venison and topping off with the orange cheesecake, was delicious. This is our favorite date night dinner!
Had a quiet Sunday dinner, the food was phenominal. Although it is a little pricy, they didn't try to upsell us when we asked for pairings or recommendations. The staff was exemplorary. The experience couldn't have been better.
The food and service was second to none! This was our first visit and the experience was first rate. The meal is definitely worth the cost. We will be back!
The food was amazing and the service was great. Will definitely be back!
We have eaten at Europa many times and never disappointed. It's a very romantic place to eat and the food and service is outstanding. I highly recommend this place to eat. Its our favorite place to go. The desserts are amazing.
Europa consistently offers first rate, delectable food that keeps you wanting to go back.
Reservations were easy...they knew it was a special occasion and gave us a quiet, intimate table on our own. From the moment the staff helped my girlfriend with her coat, they moved with care and precision throughout the entire meal. The sommelier was impressive, the pan seared trout was amazing, the chocolate mousse was perfect. The manager even stayed late for us to finish dessert, and all of the staff took pains to make us feel welcome, relaxed, and not rushed. A real find I would highly recommend.
very comfortable setting, friendly, helpful staff, varied menu
Dined here twice and impressed both times. Lamb chops were perfectly prepared. Staff is professional and friendly
Escargot was served barely warm in a gloppy sauce, instead of in a traditional hot butter sauce. Ordered the blackened sea bass, which was apparently frozen and sliced thin (perhaps to reduce food costs). And it wasn't truly blackened -- looked like someone sprinkled a little seasoning on it. Disappointed with food quality. Nice atmosphere in the dining room.
Outstanding service, food and atmosphere. There were 12 of us, and we had a great time. Asked about tart tatan, and they made us a homemade version that was to-die for. Also brought out a great bottle of wine that wasn't on the menu. Outstanding meal.
We have been going for many years, first at the Reston location and now at the Herndon location. The food and service remain excellent, and the new location is far better than the old Reston location. You always feel welcome and the service is great. We expect to continue to be customers for many years to come!
Great food. great service. Definitely not fast food. Everything was enjoyable and the Fuentes family take pride in providing quality service and delicious entrees. They have a monthly multi course menu paired with hidden gem wines.
We had a good meal at Europa, with excellent service.
Best restaurant in town! Food is absolutely delicious!
Food was not too overly priced, but quality of food was definitely lacking. Seabass had soaked all the oil up and tasted very old, and oily, oh the oil. Support staff were on point, but our waiter spent more time taking pictures of the old ladies sitting in the corner than checking in. Bartender had a very nice pour for a drinks, and the sangria was pretty tasty as well. It really is a shame the restaraunt did not live up to how it looked, as the ambiance was quite nice.
We have enjoyed dining with the Fuentes family for nearly fourteen years. We were fortunate to have discovered them in 2002 when they opened El Manatial in Reston. Europa is their new venture in Herndon with many of the same specialties and some new additions in a great new setting. The food always comes out perfectly prepared. The desserts are incredible. We recommend you try one of their many carefully selected wines from Spain. It's a total team effort by the staff to make sure your experience is just right.
My husband and I have been going to Europa, and it's predecessor El Manantial, for years. From the first few times we dined there we felt like everyone was happy to see us and always greeted us warmly. The food seems to be getting better and better. The tapas menu is amazing and the wine list is pretty wonderful. I love the ambiance here. It's understated, romantic, quiet and spotless (including the bathrooms!) The bar is gorgeous and you cannot beat the value. Sign up for their email list and you'll get some pretty fantastic dining specials. I can't wait for our next date night!
A must for anyone who is looking for a quiet friendly restaurant with great staff and food. Just the right number of table, you never feel pushed on top of others.
This fine dining venue does a great job from a service perspective. They use a team approach and they manicure efficiently. One is never wanting for attention.
The food was average, in my opinion. Sauces and seasonings were a bit bland and my 'Europa Special' (shrimp, filet and scallop) had obviously been left under the heating lamp too long.
I'll probably go back eventually, but I'm not doing jumping jacks. Solid.
