I've been here 4 times before and have always had a wonderful time..... However, I hate to write a bad review, but our experience this past Saturday night left me extremely frustrated. I had my in-laws in town from Europe who had never been to an "American Steakhouse" before... so I wanted to show them how nice of an experience it is. We were a reservation of 5 people at 7:45, and arrived to wait in line behind people wearing t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops... and then we were sat at a 5-top virtually directly next to the hostess stand. I asked for another table that wasn't directly next to the front door and was told quite directly "I'm sorry sir, we're fully committed tonight and this is the only table we have for you"... So then the next 45+ minutes of our experience was getting blinded with light every time someone opened the door, and (seemingly hotel guests) standing/sitting around the hostess stand waiting for a table, with young kids screaming running back and forth to the bar and around our table dressed like they were at a Chucky Cheese, as well as a woman bouncing around breastfeeding her newborn.... and then after they were all finally sat at the table directly next to us, they took one look at the menu and walked out anyway!!!! I understand it's not fair to blame the restaurant for a group of people like that.... but I really tried when we arrived to get moved to a normal table in the other room.. I guess it comes with the territory of being a restaurant inside a resort hotel in the middle of the summer (I'm a local).... There were a few other issues with the service too minor to mention, but basically related to them being way too over-busy... On a positive note, the food was excellent... I just left wishing that for our $700+ dinner, I would have rather been at any other non-hotel Steakhouse in the city to have a nice quiet experience on a night when we went through the effort of leaving our own kids at home with a babysitter (doesn't happen often!)

Another fabulous dining experience at Bob's for my birthday dinner. We were seated immediately and I noticed that my menu was personalized with Happy Birthday Marilyn. What a nice touch! The blue cheese salad is so incredibly delicious and always served on ice cold plates. The rib eye steak is my favorite and it always is perfectly cooked and delicious. I opted for the baked potato which is HUGE and the glazed carrot is always sensational. We had key lime pie for my birthday dessert and it was also yummy. We are members of the resort so we can bring our own wine in with no corkage fee which is a nice perk. Highly recommend this great restaurant. It never disappoints!

We were greeted by a friendly, helpful receptionist. She let us choose the section where we could sit.
We got a very nice booth. A Busboy came to our table and asked whether we wanted still or gas water;
as if it was one or the other, so we chose still, but were surprised that we were charged $6 for the bottle.
I think the Busboy should have mentioned that either/or would cost us. The waiter showed up in a hurry
and took our cocktail order. He brought back the cocktails & already wanted to take our dinner order. We wanted to enjoy our cocktail, but he was chomping at the bit to take our food order. He gave us that impression all night long - as if he was in such a hurry. It was a Monday night, not busy, but he was rushing around & didn't give us a relaxed feeling. Then he took things off our table without asking if we were done - that is a huge "faux pas". Even if the plates are done, he should ask and not assume that we are done. APART FROM A BAD WAITER, the food was absolutely delicious and well presented. The alcohol pours were good, and overall, we had a great time - good food - good atmosphere.
While we're glad you enjoyed your dinner, it's disappointing to hear that the attentive service was a little off-putting for your table. Our Waiter, Joseph is always wonderful. His service was excellent.
Unfortunately my 16 ounce Prime Filet Mignon was inedible. Cost $74.00
It was overcooked and dry as a bone.
My mood was such that I did not want to complain, even though my wife suggested I send it back. I should have. Not sure who was cooking that night, but their skills were sadly lacking.
My wife ordered the Prime "Cote de Boeuf Bone in Ribeye" she did enjoy it.
Both of our entrees came with very large baked potatoes with all the wonderful sides included.
We each ordered a salad. Generous portions and excellent.
We were celebrating our anniversary. Our menus were made up special and did say in special red print "Happy Anniversary. That was a special surprise touch. They also gave us a very large piece of chocolate cake compliments of the restaurant.
While we're glad to hear that the service was superb on your visit, Jeff, we apologize that your filet mignon wasn't cooked to your specifications. We strive for perfection, but if there's ever a mistake, we want it brought to our attention, so we can make it right immediately. We celebrated our anniversary at Bob's. Food and service was excellent and ambiance was perfect. The only negative was a $45 corkage fee. (More than twice the cost of most fine restaurants) Next time we will not take our special wine. A special touch was they had printed on the top of our menu - "Celebrating 9th Anniversary".

We ate there two noghts in a row. Steaks were very good as well as appetizers and side dishes. My fish selection on Saturday was less than expected. supposed to be Blackened Halibut and it appeared to be baked and overdone. Many children in the restaurant which made for a very noisy dining experience.
Wait staff on Friday was very attentive, Saturday was not nearly as impressive.

We had the carrot soup and it was absolutely delicious! LIttle to my surprise my husband ordered one as well. It’s a “bowl” and I would have preferred we shared but we both finished it. We had the filet and NY strip. Both were cooked perfectly and seasoned well.
Our server, I wish I remembered his name, was outstanding. We were in at 7:30 on Friday, July 12th. We sat towards the back, to the left, in a round booth. He is tall with a beard and a mustache. He was our server last year too. We come every year for a few days. We have been coming to LaCosta for seven summers. We have dined at Bob’s since it’s been open and have never been disappointed.

This place has true steak house ambiance. The fine furniture, along with excellent and courteous service makes it an inviting place to dine. And the food! One can tell just as you enter, that it will be a treat. The menu was varied - lots of steaks, seafood and salads. And the sides were straight ahead tasty and filling. It's certainly on the expensive side, but the value is there. This is a great place for a special occasion, even if that occasion is to simply treat yourself to a wonderful meal.

Everything was amazing! We loved how cozy and lovely the inside was. We sat outside on the patio. We got to watch fireworks (as it was the 4th), sat right next to the fire pit, the food was so delicious!! Best scampi I’ve ever had! My daughter had beef vegetable soup that I tasted and it was so good! From the hostess who was so friendly,to the manager who was so accommodating, to our server who was wonderful. It was a great experience.

It was a lovely, romantic evening that not even the staff whisking away the starters before we were finished could tarnish. We did miss out on the $14 brussel sprouts, not because we didn't pay for them, rather they simply never appeared. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The smashed potatoes are MUCH better than the fried potatoes. The water was replenished rarely. The attitudes were friendly and professional. The restaurant is very dark and the booths very quiet. For the price and the location, there is room for improvements. But overall it was a 'good' dinner. Perhaps we simply caught them on an 'off' night.

Overall OK, we sat outside and it was nice, but way too many people and children milling around. Booze good, shrimp good, ordered the PRIME PORTERHOUSE, it was mediocre at best. I PAYED $85 for a mediocre steak. I’m so depressed.

Loved it. Used to Ruth’s Chris’s 500 degree plates so it was a little cold. But not really, just not 500 degrees.
We loved the atmosphere and our server was nice. We were seated by a huge group so the noise level was higher than usual I expect. Overall we’d love to come back.

I brought my girlfriend here for her 50th birthday and they did an amazing job of making her feel special. They printed menu’s with saying “Happy Birthday Bean”, and gave us an incredible desert, all on the house. But beyond that, the food was incredible. I had the 12 ounce filet mignon, and she had the rack of lamb. We both commented that both of these meals were one of the all-time best that we’ve ever had. I can’t remember the waiter’s name but he was amazing. He was a tall skinny guy with Bob Dylan like hair but he was just amazing and taking care of us all night. In fact the entire staff was amazing at taking care of us. We will definitely come back again. One of the best steak houses we have ever been to and we’ve been everywhere.

It was our wedding anniversary and we both were excited to go to Bob's Steakhouse. We had been there twice in the last year and both times it was outstanding. This time was no different. We have learned (thru experience) that the two of us can just get one steak and share it. So we ordered the 18oz bone-in ribeye for the two of us and it was the perfect portion. We went all out on the wine which was also great!
We have lived in the SD area since 2015 and Bob's is at the top of our list of restaurants. Already planning a return visit with my golfing buddies and spouses.
Also, Bob's gave us a dessert on the house to celebrate our anniversary. Class move! Love this place.

On a few occasions there is an opportunity to partake in a wonderful setting, with precise and intuitive service and with perfectly prepared meals. Thus is Bob's. The Filet, the Ribeye, shrimp cocktail, wine selection, and brussel sprouts - everything was beyond expectations and an amazing evening.
Outstanding steak, top notch service by our waiter Corbin and highly recommend this place. P. S., if you’re a ribeye lover, order the bone in Ribeye CôTE DE BOEUF. A M A Z I N G!!!!

Party of 4. Service was great. One person in our party took ill - had ordered salmon and upon its arrival it smelled odd... she ate about half and soon after had to leave because she took ill. Two of us had the ribeye... steak was fatty and very rare. Sent one back requesting the chef cook it more, but it the meat was not flavorful nor tender. Both of us left the majority of the steak on the plate.
Met with the Manager this afternoon, (since we are staying at the resort) he dodged the complaint, said he personally checked in the fish that afternoon and stood by it. Offered very little feedback on the steak. Very expensive dinner, would not go back and will not recommend Bob’s. Very disappointed.
