House Without a Key
Excellent live Hawaiian music and hula
Birthday dinner. Amazing food. Great ambience
Service was friendly but it took way too long to get our drinks and food. Overall food is overpriced and mediocre. You pay for the ambiance, which I actually don’t think is even worth it. Skip.
The waiter who gave us our table was very kind, looking at the pace of running out of food and drinks, and bringing food and drinks at the right time. The atmosphere of House Without a Key is good.
Good casual dinner - good service too!
The ambiance at this restaurant is beautiful. You’re on the ocean with the sun setting with excellent live entertainment. We were greeted warmly by a very nice hostess who was more than accommodating when we requested to move our table. We did not realize that eating up front had very small, low tables. We wanted more of a dinner experience. The disappointment came with the menu selection: “Maine Lobster “ in Hawaii???
I just came from the East Coast, why would I want this and how far had it traveled??? “Atlantic Salmon”???? Really??? We are waterfront in HI! Where’s the seafood??
I ended up having the fresh catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi and was delicious! My husband had the LauLau and enjoyed that. We finished up with their signature coconut cake, which was light and tasty.
Good meals well priced given position at Waikiki . Service very good . We had a local pork and chicken dish and grilled salmon well presented and tasty. Come to Waikiki often and have not been here before. Have been here a week now and must say that of the places we usually go to I have noticed a drop off in standard . Would be happy to ce back here again to this restaurant.
We had a reservation but had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. The food was very average and expensive. The presentation of our meal left nothing to be desired either, a piece of fish, a small mound of rice and four asparagus spears....that was it!
We certainly would not rush back.
We started with the delicious coconut shrimp. The Mai Tai was a little disappointing, it’s different than we remembered it to be however we enjoyed the Halekulani sunset. For the entrees we had the steamed onaga and the Ahi special, both were excellently prepared. For my birthday they gave me a complimentary coconut cake which was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday. Mahalo for making my birthday special and memorable.
The meal was wonderful and all the staff made us very welcome. Melissa was great! So friendly and knowledgeable. The coconut shrimp, steak and catch of the day were delicious! Great spot for honeymoon dinner!
Really great views
It was my birthday and we came here to celebrate. Had a wonderful time. Food and service was excellent
Thank you, will definitely come back
The host was great! Waiter was a little subpar but efficient enough. He just may have been a little inexperienced. Food wasn’t what we were expecting. Prime rib was dry and the ahi fillets had a lot of tough cartilage in it. We would go back but just for the drinks and appetizers as many people do there.
スタッフは年配の方が多いですが ベテランと言った感じで 笑顔で働いています。気配りもきいています。
Beautiful meal, staff and venue. Class.
Beautiful view right next to the ocean watching the waves roll in. Secluded setting with palm trees. Food and cocktails were spot on. Must visit when in Waikiki
On vacation in Oahu. They gave us a complimentary birthday dessert which was very generous and nice of them. Service was great. Views are awesome. We just had appetizers otherwise and some wine. Excellent ribeye appetizer!! Would go back for sure. Didn’t try their fish because the “fish of the day” was one I wasn’t interested in, and overall we were full after the apps, salad and wine. Also had a “island” salad which was just a regular salad but it was fresh and a good size.
House without a key is one our must go places in Waikiki. The food, service, live Hawaiian music and having the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, it is hard to beat.
Great ambiance, attentive service & excellent food. Would give more stars if o
We come to the Halekulani every 4-6 months, love the House without a key and are never disappointed. Best sunset, food, service, and music/show. Jan was server this trip and she was awesome. We will be back again in October
House Without a Key is a place one must visit in Honolulu. The setting is spectacular. Service is impeccable and very friendly. The drinks are excellent and the menu offers plenty of options.
The music is very good, and not over-powering. It's easy to have a conversation or just listen to the music and watch the lovely dancing.
Given general prices in Honolulu, the prices here are not unreasonable considering all that you get with the meal.
Overall a perfect dining experience for anyone visiting Hawaii, having dinner at the beach, and listening to beautiful live music.
Beautiful restaurant. Glorious backdrop and lovely music. So great I went back twice!
Not much variety on the menu. Lots of deep fried stuff
Can’t beat the views and ambience. The live entertainment was also a really nice touch. The food, however, was extremely underwhelming. The drinks were overly sweet & the main dishes were heavy on the salt. Server, however, was attentive and efficient.
Average food (disappointing) Perfect location. Enjoyable Hawaiian live band. Lovely sunset. Good service.
ハレクラニ サンセット と言う名前のカクテルをオーダーして、丁度夕日にかかる頃だったので、雰囲気とピッタリでした。
We made special requests to celebrate my 30th birthday. We weren't seated at our reservation and when we were seated it was the furthest table in the back. The drinks were ridiculously upcharged and the food was mediocre. Nothing was done to help celebrate our visit. Our waitress even lost her temper when we asked to split the bill three ways. The views are great and it's a nice space but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for more than a happy hour drink. I'm waiting on response from management as I've called and emailed them.
We enjoyed the view, music, and food. But, I feel that selection of food is somewhat limited. Of course, it is Halekulani, so expensive as well. It is good for special occasions.
Perfect setting. Hawaiian music, hawaiian dancer, diamond head in the background on the ocean and delicious food. "Ole Hawaii.
Magical spot for dinner. Live Hawaiian band from 5:30-8 and hula dancer. Food and view are 5 stars !!! When the sun sets you can get up and see it behind the band. It was the perfect spot for my last dinner there. Will definitely repeat on my next trip !!! Highly recommend !!!
Halekulani is where we were on honeymoon a few years ago. This place is the Best.
Excellent menu selections. Gracious but attentive service. Beautiful oceanfront view.
