The Cafe food and drinks menu is bursting with fresh flavour, made with the finest quality ingredients and created with The Grounds own grown and locally sourced produce. The Cafe at The Grounds has team of chefs who constantly push the boundaries and reinvents the classics in order to deliver you perfect flavour combinations that will make you want to come back time and time again.

NOTE: At The Cafe, to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to dine in, we operate on a walk-in only basis for smaller tables during peak hours. If no tables are available on arrival, we will add you to an electronic waiting list and text you when your table is ready, leaving you free to explore the rest of The Grounds. Rest assured, all groups on the wait list will be able to dine-in on the day.

    Food was delicious, service at first was okay, bare minimum interaction, after I asked for the bill no one came to take the payment. I was looking for someone for 10 minutes to take the payment, then when I managed to stop someone he hesitated a lot before helping me out.

    The waiter was not very polite and she did not customise the mokka we ordered. In addition, the pancakes were not very tasty and the egg Benedict did not come with standard bread, it was like a thick pancake. My smashed avo was so small compare to the top other plates I saw. Coffee was good though.,

    Food and coffee was delicious - could not fault. It’s was incredibly busy so you were on a time limit for your reservation to make sure everyone got in and out. Service was great and very efficient though!

    Service quite poor and rude( was an Asian girl we were seating near the entrance) Highly recommend to check on the cafe hygiene, glasses cutlery were pretty dirty as well as water bottles!

    Do not order eggs Benedict. Was not told there was no salmon left was given bacon. This dish was ordered by a friend who cannot have bacon and this is not the first time. Also forgot to put hollandaise sauce. Poached eggs were overcooked.

    Our waiter was outstanding and suggested the most tasty selections from the menu. I particularly loved the deconstructed iced coffee. The whole place was visually exciting and a foodie wonderland.

    We came and celebrated my daughter’s 13th Birthday with lunch and cake ( Candyland cake). Food was delicious and my daughter and her best friend had the most wonderful time

    This place is amazing and so beautiful! The food was great and not too bad on price! The perfect date night or day etc. I do believe that the Service needs a little work as I felt We weren’t acknowledged the way some of the people before us were. This made me slightly uncomfortable because I don’t often leave my home for this reason and it feels like our presence isn’t valued. The servers on the inside were so very friendly and we enjoyed that regardless of it being busy, they put that extra effort to make our experience enjoyable. I understand that businesses get busy and we cant help that. Over a great day to be out with family and friends.

    Very efficient but lacked warmth. The Grounds was extremely busy and we were checked in and handed over to another staff member to seat us. Then somebody else took our drinks order and a different person took our food order and yet another person brought the bill. The adults food was nice but not standout. The children’s chicken was very dry. Whilst the service was efficient, it lacked warmth and felt like we were on a conveyor belt. Would not hurry back

    Won’t be back based on the food in the cafe. Was terrible both my partners lamb shoulder and my chicken salad. Kids fruit plate was laughable. One strawberry cut in quarters and two tiny slices of watermelon. 2/10

    Asked for 2 serves of pancakes to be served with toppings (raspberry compote and syrup on the side). Wait staff delivered it and I told them that the request had been ignored. She just said that’s how they are made and they won’t remake them. I asked for a spare side dish so I could scrape off the toppings. She came back with 2 plates - one was clearly not washed. It had crud and residue from someone else’s meal upon it. Unhygienic.

    The Cafe felt cramped, there were too many people for the size of the building, I got bumped into 3 times, staff were all over the place, our waiter didn't get my order quite right due to I believe, him not hearing me properly, over the loudness of everyone in the space and the meals are over priced for what you get. I ended up close to having a panic attack with all the overstimulation. I probably won't rush to return.

    Very much enjoyed the displays and the food - came for a day out with my 7 year old and we had a great day! Service was amazing, the cafe is quite noisy as you’re sat pretty close to the table next to you, but nothing that was negative!

    First time visit. The Grounds of Alexandria advertise on their website that the laneway display is for customers only, not sure how they would possibly monitor this with the amount of traffic they attract due to these displays and nobody actually asks any questions. I felt this was misleading and as a result I felt this made me believe that I have to make a reservation at the cafe or restaurant. We are notified at time of booking that you have only one hour. We were made to wait about 10 minutes after our booking time before we were seated. Waited possibly another 10 minutes before someone actually took our order. The wait staff don’t smile nor are friendly. Admittedly, the food is of good quality but you sometimes don’t get what is stated on the menu. Ordered a strawberry popsicle for my son but got an orange or mango one, not exactly sure what it was. Menu states the parmigiana comes with broccolini and green beans but didn’t actually get any green beans. You do feel from staff that you are just another number cause the service provided is at the bare minimum possibly because they are extremely busy. I would only recommend visiting if little ones or adults alike want to see the laneway display.

    After 50 minutes of trying to find parking…. And having to then wait an extra 15 mins extra for our booked table, they had run out of kids cheese burgers, there was plastic in my daughters smoothie, hair in my food and the kids “vanilla” milkshakes had banana in them. What a disappointing afternoon.

    Over rated and pictures on the site give a different impression! Walk ways are too narrow and not enough space to pass crowds. You also do not need to book a table at the Cafe or PottingShed in order to see the Themed event! "Money gimmick" Food, expansive but also very small portions for children meals literally 4 mouthfuls of Rumpsteak, which my daughter ate and I had to wait close to 1 hr for our food! We must have asked the waiters at least 6 times.

    Gorgeous location. Recommend booking ahead, particularly on weekends as gets very busy. Good selection in the menu and prices are reasonable, what I would expect at a cafe. Some of the meals had sold out which was a little disappointing, particularly as was in the Kids meals and the equivalent adult version way too big. But all in all would return

    I arrived early and was delighted to be seated with a smile. There was a mixup with my order where I doubted myself but momentarily the server delivered the correct one. The Autumn Omelette, my original choice, was outstanding. I stayed for a while and was so heartened that I was encouraged to linger. I sipped two Bellinis and was assured I could stay as long as I’d like. As I was solo I was checking if they needed the table. I left with a full belly and a happy heart.
