A La Lucia
Food was great. Had the mussels, fried zucchini as appetizers. The salmon was excellent! A must try.
Our first time at your restaurant. We were very impressed with the quality of the food. Enjoyed our dinner experience and will return!
We're regulars. Consistently excellent; always great service; great value.
Great meal! Wonderful neighborhood Italian.
Great all around, as always!
This is an absolute neighborhood gem. We have never ever had a bad meal and we are regulars. Great food, great service and one can actually have a conversation.
The food was delicious and just the right amounts. I hate coming out of a restaurant feeling too full--this was just right. The bread and the way the meat was cooked--right on point!
Dependable food and service. Special items are always good. Reliable.
Great food in a very nice friendly and pleasant atmosphere. I've been there a number of times and my opinion remains the same -- go and see for yourself.
Always nice to come home to a la lucia. Service staff is extraordinary. Wine superb and food delicious.
Always great food and good service
Great Italian food, from pizza to arugula salad to pastas. Go-to with kids and picky eaters as lots to choose from. You can also talk to companions...not shout..as dining room relatively quiet. Nice wine list is bonus.
This place is consistently great. Always solid food and a knowledgeable staff that provide excellent service.
Yummy chicken paillard
very crowded night and we were provided with top notch service including from the owner.
The food however was not up to its usual standards
We had reservations for two and upon arrival they gave us a dark corner table right under
the ceiling exhaust for the air conditioning. The vents were blowing ice cold air on our heads and shoulders. We explained our freezing discomfort and requested a different table. We were told that there were no more tables, which was true, but that we could move to the bar. We decided to move to the bar and when we approached the owner with our request, he was quite condescending and acted disturbed with our request. We walked to the bar ourselves anyway and took a small table there. The owner never apologized for the terrible table he had given us in the beginning or tried to make us feel more comfortable with the new table at the bar. Our waiter at the bar was very professional and almost out of place in this restaurant as he had very good manners although he seemed overwhelmed at times trying to serve so many tables. My friend and I both left with the feeling that the place needs to take a good look at their policies, at the consistency of their service and treat their female customers with more respect. Neither one of us wants to return to this restaurant. The pseudo-Italian food was OK although nothing special.
Disappointed at 7pm they were out of halibut & prosciutto w/melon. Apparently they had a busy Saturday night no branzino as well. Best to call before making reservation for Sunday night.
Delightful Italian meal. Enjoyed every minute.
The restaurant sponsors a private club allowing patrons to bring their own wine to dinner. We enjoyed some Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. Pasta was good but the wine was better.
Food was amazing, without a doubt. My boyfriend said those were the best mussels he'd ever had. My spicy tomato and eggplant pasta dish was awesome. Only thing I would say is the decor is very ancient and old feeling. An update to the atmosphere seems in order.
Great menu, delicious food and friendly service every time!
The chicken was over cooked and tough. All else was good.
Service was great. Very personable and responsive. Food was excellent.
We had the 3 course dinner. The mozzarella was okay but not melt in your mouth. Salmon was delicious. Pears with gelato was superb. Good bread and oil.
Service was efficient and nonintrusive, which I prefer.
I had visited in January on business. And wanted to go again when we were in town for fun.
Food is great, service is great, it's quiet enough to have conversation, clientele is nice mix of all ages.
This is my 10th or so visit to A La Lucia & it never disappoints! Great staff, food and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!
Our favorite local Italian restaurant! We feel like family & are treated the same. We both enjoyed the branzino, 1/2 order of ravioli& eggplant rolatini.
All delicious & beautifully prepared! Good cheese course, too!
Friends from Great Falls insisted on dining here as the last time was so terrific! This is our neighborhood go-to but we never tire of it. Great staff, service & nice variety on menu. Delicious sot shell crabs!!!
Never ever fails to deliver a wonderful meal.....solid seasoned wait staff, that works as a team....servers and support staff. They all pay attention to picking up plates and filling glasses as needed. Menu selections are quite extensive.
Service could have been better.
The food as always was wonderful but the service was unusually scattered.
Impossible to get a bad meal or be treated like a very special guest
Always great. Fresh ingredients and wonderful service. Best chicken parm on the planet.
Very loud night. Would be 5 all around if my wife and I could have a conversation without shouting.
The soft shell crabs were great. Pricing on the wines encourage consumption.
A good neighborhood Italian place. Drinks made by the substitute bartender were great.
As always: great service, Branzino, rose wine selection, ambiance ( the yellow room! 👍🏻), great value & recommendations!
This is a lovely little out of the way restaurant in Northern Old Town Alexandria. The food and service are superb. The ambiance is wonderful.
Family run, always good.
