My daughter’s birthday and staff could not have been better. We enjoy Rhubarb every time we come to Asheville. They never disappoint! I
One of the very best meals we have had in a long time!!
Will definitely go back. The trout was incredible as was our halibut starter. Staff was friendly and not overbearing. Exceptional service.
An amazing restaurant! The food was incredible!
Amazing farm to table food with equally amazing craft cocktails
Excellent spot in downtown with vegetarian friendly options
Superb food and service, as always. Rhubarb never disappoints.
Food was good but not as amazing as expected. Service was a little slow.
Incredible dishes and lively, chic atmosphere. I loved sitting at the chef’s bar and watching them make everything. Great options for vegetarians like me as well!
Great locavore spot. The crew here does a killer job of showcasing NC ingredients, especially veg.
We had a great dinner at Rhubarb, a small modern southern restaurant in the heart of Asheville, walking distance from our hotel. We sat by the open kitchen which allowed us to appreciate the hustle and simpatico of the team. My wife and I shared small plates and a main. We enjoyed a local cheese plate that was really delicious and a "sharing salad of local lettuces" which was really tasty. The walnuts that accompanied the salad were so fresh tasting as to be heavenly (an odd thing to say about walnuts, to be sure).
For our mains we shared a sliced ribeye for two with collard greens, fried wild mushrooms, and a delicate and delicious sauce and...I think...turmip puree. Absolutely spot on cook on the ribeye and my wife LOVED the fried mushrooms.
Our cocktails were quite good as well, albeit unusual (in a good way).
Service was casual and attentive. Would definitely come back here again and if you're looking for a cool place for some elevated southern cooking, this is a great place to dine.
Food was innovative and fresh. Cocktails and wine were perfect. We will definitely be back!
My 2 adult daughters and I had a wonderful time at Rhubarb. Our waitress was very efficient in her explanation of the menu and we easily found 6 tapas-style dishes we wanted to try. There was a huge variety of dishes on offer, all imaginative and inviting. The striped bass ended up our favourite but all of our selections were very interesting, flavorful and delicious. This was the highlight of our Asheville trip.
Tasty locally sourced soul food (friend had a healthy market veg option that was delicious too). Wonderful service.
Their cocktails were absolutely delicious! The food was amazing. The desserts were our favorite! Nice environment and very friendly staff.
We enjoyed our meal in a lovely setting. The food was very good and pretty creative and the service just adequate.
Dishes were so salty we thought about sending them back. Paying $20 for a small plate of greens, beans, and three mushroom caps is never easy to swallow. Would not recommend.
The food really needs work. Quality ingredients do not make up for poor execution. Turnip and Carrot dish was completely bland with only a trace of the promised pesto. Desperately needed salt, acid, and a textural contrast of some kind. Red shrimp and grit cake, on the other hand, was extremely over salted. All dishes sampled were quite underwhelming, as were the two wines sampled. At this price point, much better options exist.
Amazing trout!!! Best fish we’ve had! But the shrimp were just as incredible -I thought I already had a high standard for seafood but now I’m afraid I’m spoiled :(
Every item we received was made with extreme care and was deliciously prepared. From the cocktails to the main plates. The only complaint we had was that the waitress kept trying to upsell us. I understand it is their jobs to make recommendations, but I do not need a face made at me when I decline dessert.
Terrible service and mediocre food.
Great service and the food was amazing and creative
Spent the weekend celebrating my birthday in Asheville. Rhubarb was my favorite meal there. Will definitely be back. ❤️
We have enjoyed meals there in the past but food- especially pork loin and soup -were subpar. Our waitress was very sweet though.
Great food and service.
Only my second time dining here, but it still qualifies as my favorite restaurant in Asheville. Service was outstanding, as was the food. Comfortable space with creative cuisine. Can't wait to go back.
Max was wonderful. Service was fast. Food and drinks were amazing!
Visiting Asheville and stayed downtown. Wonderful to be able to walk to such a great place!
a return visit, and, once again, Rhubarb delivers good food and excellent service.
Great food and atmosphere. Everything they brought to the table was delicious
Made reservations for my wife and I’s anniversary and I asked for them to put candles or flowers on the the table. Neither happened, and the servers didn’t even mention anything about our anniversary. Not that they have to do it, it just would’ve been nice!
Other than that, great food and ambience.
