Ristorante Bartolotta - Wauwatosa
Classico Tiramisu' Del Ristorante Bartolotta Dal 1993
Signature dessert of layered whipped mascarpone cream, espresso-soaked Savoiardi cookies dusted with dark cocoa
Risotto alla Milanese (Risot A la Milanesa)
Risotto with saffron pistils, beef marrow, butter, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. ($10 supplemental). With roots in Medieval Arabic and Hebrew cooking, this risotto became famous in 1574 at the table of the glassmaker Valerio di Fiandra, while he was using saffron to color the glass commissioned for the Cathedral of Milan (Il Duomo di Milano). The use of risotto with saffron was introduced for his daughter's wedding, and the new recipe was immediately embraced by the Milanese for the flavor and the gold color that symbolized prosperity and riches
Gnocchi Verdi Gratinati alla Crema di Gorgonzola con Noci
Spinach-potato gnocchi browned in a creamy gorgonzola cheese sauce, toasted walnuts
What a fantastic evening we had at Ristorante Bartolotta! Have been wanting to go here for quite some time, and well worth the wait! Staff was excellent, accommodating, over the top!
This was the fifth regional menu enjoyed since reopening. Like the others it was a delectable tour of special foods, this time from an area near Rome. Especially delicious was prawns in tomato, white wine and lemon sauce; fettuccine with artichokes, fava beans ( a favorite which I grow), spring onion, pancetta, and Romano; and baby lamb.
Lastly, service was impeccable.
The food had no seasonings and little flavor. Extremely expensive. Very disappointed
Very pricey. Did not like the extra charge for some menu items.
Great restaurant. Perfect service and amount of attention. Great, themed menu.
Very good, authentic italian cuisine and helpful, knowledgeable staff. The food was a little pricy, but the quality and service made it more than worth it.
Delicious & unique regional Italian menu items. Very personable & helpful staff.
A most enjoyable evening in a cozy restaurant.
It was our anniversary Everything was wonderful. We haven't stopped talking about it, and we're hoping to treat some of our friends to another lovely evening.
Exceptional meal, service and evening! We'll be back!
Excellent dinner and service. Very good value, $65 for a four course meal.
Exceptional cuisine from a talented kitchen . Creative menu with numerous options. Fine Italian cocktail and wine list. Service staff friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go back.
Overall nice..wish there was more beef chicken or pork meals to choose from
Excellent at all times !!! Can’t wait for Sardinia Dinner which is upcoming !!!
Great to be back to Ristorante Bartolotta. The new prix fixe menu which was a traditional Marches region dinner was amazing with flavors bursting from each course. Great value, great service and was a welcome sign of a "new" normal.
My starter and my husbands main had seafood in it. It was fishy tasting and gritty. Also, the bread was not fresh.
Excellent food and service. Nicely laid out for safe dining.
The pre-set menu was good but I do miss the regular menu and being able to build my own meal. In particular the rigatoni.
I have no real complaint about the restaurant, rather it's the menu. Because of covid they have a set menu with 4 courses and 4 or 5 items to choose from in each course. The first two courses were excellent, but the third course didn't really have any options that really appealed to me. Dessert was the fourth course but I very rarely order dessert. I would like to go back but only when I can decide for myself what I want to eat.
Great place as always - food wasn't quite up to normal elite standards (gnocchi was mushy) while price is even higher than normal with the mandatory $65 4-course / per person. But I attribute both of those issues up to covid management.
Flexible 4 course menu you choose from. Everything was very good. Good service as well.
Outstanding food and service. Romantic, Italian atmosphere and the most wonderful, attentive service. Spinach gorgonzola cream sauce over gnocchi with toasted walnuts was something dreams are made of. Best tiramisu. Special place.
Everything was more than expected! Great service and very professional. It was my wife's birthday and it will be remembered for a long time. She was pleased how everything turned out. We will be back
The food was excellent and enjoyed the focus on the Italian regions. Expected the portions to be slightly more for the price.
We have been to Bartolotta’s many times prior to pre-covid. This was a birthday celebration and COVID restrictions were in place. Our reservations were March 25, 2021. Ambience was great even with the barriers in place. This review is really about the food and our server. Our server tried to sell us the most expensive bottles of wine. When I asked for merlot, he questioned it and said you have to try this wine. It wasn’t to my liking and it was twice the price of what I wanted. We asked for a bottle of Chardonnay and he said no, you need to try this wine the wine he recommended was $178 a bottle. When does the waiter tells us what we want and like. He treated us , that we weren’t smart enough to pick out wine. The food was tasteless and not the the Bartolotta’s standard at all. We will not be going back. Very disappointed!
Nice dinner for a special occasion. Service was great. Food was great. A little bit expensive.
My wife and I loved our March 20th dinning experience at Ristorante Bartolotta.
Our meals, the staff and the atmosphere of the restaurant were outstanding.
We have eaten at the restaurant many times during the Covid-19 time and the staff have practice the necessary strategies to keep everyone safe.
We highly recommend the Ristorante Bartolotta.
My favorite in the old village of Tosa. Still top notch.
Beat Italian in Milwaukee! And what a tray that Paul Bartolotta thanked us for dining with them.
As usual excellent food, attentive and kind service. Regional menu is excellent, a trip to Lonbardy.
We had another great meal with the Bartolotta family. One of our favorites.
The experience was completely unpleasant due to their Covid policy. We were treated every time the staff came to the table like our family had the Bubonic Plague:(. We will not be going back to one of our favorite restaurants until they take improve their Covid policy. Dining and being required to put your mask on while you’re still eating/drinking is very intrusive. The Bartolotta group has been a favorite of our families/business for years. I hope they return to their previous level of service/quality soon.
Service, atmosphere, food, and the whole experience was outstanding!!!!
Our waiter was amazing. The upper dining area was awesome. It was like we had our own private dinning room.
The wine selection was great along with the meal choices.
Great menu and atmosphere.
We went to Ristorante Bartolotta for our anniversary last night. Have been there before. Table for two. Very nice atmosphere in spite of all the Covid precautions/safety measures. The first two courses of the Umbrian tasting menu dinner were too salty. The Scafata "Ricchi e Poveri and the Tagaliatelle ai Funghi Porcini had way too much salt in them. Don't understand why the cook feels it's necessary to add salt to the point that it overwhelms the taste of the other ingredients in the dish. The oven baked trout, as my main course was very good, even though the portion was on the small side. The desert, a chocolate custard cake was ok, my wife's desert, the corneal polenta cake was the better dessert. One glass of house Prosecco and one limonite soda and two cappuccino and the night ended with a $181 check which had an $8 "Health and Safety fee added to the bill without any mention. That was not cool on any level, since the "tasting menu" was going to be small amounts of food and had I known that coming in and also known they are tacking on a surcharge, I would have looked elsewhere to celebrate. Lessen learned, caveat emptor.
Wonderful restaurant for a special occasion or just because you don’t want to cook snd their food is so good.
This was the fourth or fifth regional menu we've enjoyed since the reopening and appreciated the opportunity to explore so many difference dishes. Even so, we long for the return of the traditional menu and more vibrant atmosphere. I always had the chefs three course menu, so will still have the benefit of variety. My wife is less adventurous, usually opting for the famous duck ragu, Caesar salad, and calamari shared with me. Hopefully, with the quickening pace of vaccinations, the restaurant will return to its former glory sooner rather than later.
Ristorante Bartolotta is one of our favorite restaurants. Wonderfully prepared food, served by a knowlegable and attentive staff. Tonight we celebrated our 40th anniversary there and had a truly memorable dining experience. They pulled out all the stops with truffles, a great wine selection followed by a Happy Anniversary plate of chocolates and expresso on the house!
Everything was perfect. The wait staff outstanding and the food amazing.
