Mediocre food, lousy reservations/seating even though we had a reservation, and the dining room was near empty. The only bright spots were the ambience and the great service by our waiter.

The setting was very nice with great views. The hostess and manager were very friendly and got to us right away, we did have reservations. Our food was decent but our service was not good. Our waiter was very slow and inattentive. I had high expectations but was very disappointed mostly due to the service.

Food was pretty good but the waiter disappeared after taking our orders and had other support folks deliver the food who did not make any attempt to ask if we needed anything. Grilled shrimp was good and jambalaya was decent.

This place never disappoints! Dining at RCBC on Christmas Eve is a family tradition for us, one we continued even after we joined the "Empty Nest" club. We have dined here on other occasions as well, but Christmas Eve is our night. The service and the servers are always excellent. Very knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. The dining area where we were is called "The Pit", with a beautiful waterfront view. The food was excellent, as always and affordable. The interior was beautifully decorated for the holiday season, which added to the already inviting ambiance. There is a rumor that RCBC will move to another location to make way for city projects. I hope that it is just a rumor. River City Brewing offers an excellent dining experience and Christmas Eve wouldn't be same without it.

We has superbly wonderful evening, the table by the window gave us a very nice view of the bridge and city lights.

First time there arrived after dark could use better signage so you could find it easier. Interior is dated and could use a face-lift. Food and service was great. Could use a few more menu choices. Good value all things considered.

We had a reservation at 8:30 and they closed at 9. They had already called last call and they would not serve us. So why allow us to make a reservation at 8:30? We were dropped off so we ended up walking over to Ruth Chris. That was excellent!!!

Great atmosphere, right on the water and nice large tables and booths. Moderate sized menu with lots of cajun/creole items. We had a huge problem with service, not sure what happened. The five of us got 3 glasses of water, then the server disappeared for about 10 minutes. Came back, apologized and took our order. Never did get the other two waters. Three of the items we ordered didn't come. Received two single hushpuppies when three entrees came with them and we ordered two additional orders. Server said that was correct - - what????? Bill was supposed to be split into 2 and 3 but instead the server divided the bill in half which was totally wrong. He was never able to understand what he did wrong. Food was good in general. Gumbo was underseasoned and rice was crunchy though. Their cocktail and beer offerings were really good and reasonably priced. Not awful except for the service which was the worst.

Friends from Amelia Island came to join us for lunch in Jacksonville. River City is the perfect spot to take in the river and enjoy a fabulous lunch. The lobster Mac and Cheese is my husband’s favorite. It did not disappoint. The lobster pieces were plentiful and large. Our friends thought the fish was cooked just right, not dry and the French Fries were hot and crispy. I love the burger. It is huge so my husband finished it for dinner that evening. Thank you for providing excellent food in a beautiful setting!

Beautiful views of downtown Jacksonville and the St. John’s river. Food was very good and reasonably priced. This review does not include the bar or dinner service.

Food wasn’t good but incredible view

First time there since COVID outbreak. The staff all wore masks as we did coming and going. Seated guests proper distance away from each other. Our server was great and the food was delicious (especially the bread pudding!). Glad we decided to step out of our comfort zone to go. We’ve enjoyed their Sunday brunches many times before Covid-19. Makes us sad city of a Jacksonville wants to make them move to put up condos.

The staff is exceptional. We had a beautiful view. Everyone was safely distanced and the food was delicious. I highly recommend everyone try it. They had a well stocked bar and our drinks never sat empty.

Mark our server was exceptional!!!!! He was prompt, paid attention, and he also gave us a little history about Jacksonville. I could not have asked for a better server. The entire experience was awesome and just to sit on the deck with a view of the bay.

I'm reluctant to go out to eat in restaurants consider... COVID! But River City Brewing has a large, covered patio beside the river and it was perfect for dining with two friends. We wore masks and so did the waiter, but, of course when our drinks and food arrived we took them off. Tables were more than 6 feet apart. The cool river breeze was a plus. I got the shrimp and grits which was delicious!

I made reservations for my husband 30th Birthday and the service was terrible. It took a hr to place our order and once we got our food it wasn’t fresh and on top of that they was NOT busy at all. I was very disappointed always heard great things about this restaurant so that’s why i was very confident in going . Probably wouldn’t go back .

This restaurant is a hidden gem! Wonderful riverfront views from all tables! Food was delicious, our server was cheerful and happy to be there and pricing was good for the overall experience!

Martin was our waiter and he was very good! The view from our table was breathtaking!!! We had 6 in our party and everyone enjoyed their meal!!! Definitely looking forward to going back soon!!!

Great food an atmosphere

The staff and manager were amazing. Our meal had a slight issue and they were quick to assure us its not right and handled the problem instantly. We had an amazing time here.

Awesome food, awesome service. We had the Calvary, jambalaya and scallops, it was delicious.

Friends came from Amelia Island for lunch. We had a table that provided a perfect view of the St John’s River. The chicken sandwich with fries was outstanding. My husband loved his shrimp and grits. The waiter was attentive but did not rush us. Fantastic spot!

It’s sad to see how rundown this place has become. We love coming and sitting by the river but it really needs some updating and the food was just okay. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive but the atmosphere and food needs a revamp for sure.

Breakfast and lunch offerings were very tasty and made to our specifications due to health requirements. It would have been nice to sit outside, but the awnings had been removed and the poor weather made that option not available. We did appreciate the spacious distances kept between tables inside and the fact that a boisterous group was seated well away from others dining. Our waiter was attentive as usual . It is unfortunate that the Sunday Buffet is not longer an option, but we definitely understand and look forward to its return during better days.

The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, I wanted to seat outside by the river view, the seating table and chairs were in pretty bad condition, I walked away and nobody even realize it. Inside was muggy and kind is dark, not what I was expecting for my 28th anniversary.

Great outdoor seating but slow service (refuges staff due to COVId seating restrictions). But if you have time it’s great!
