Abundance of food from the appetizer to entrees. Great service
Great experience overall, food was great and our server Anthony was excellent!
Are you looking for a great place to take your family or just an easy night out for delicious food? Rocco's fills the bill. The menu is extensive from comfort food to fine dining. This is the restaurant that meets all your needs and keeps you coming back.
A small group of friends met at Rocco's this past Sunday evening. We had a wonderful time. Rocco's has evolved since new ownership in 2016. The restaurant interior has been significantly improved and it is now a pretty place to dine. The quality of food has also improved and the menu has a more interesting selection of items. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We will certainly return soon.
First, the server and staff couldn’t have been nicer and more prompt. Very friendly. But unfortunately the food is mediocre at best and poor at worst. Cheese pizza was very good, but the pasta dishes were overpriced and just not very good. Their red sauce is pretty one dimensional and applied sparingly on piles of pasta. The Marsala sauce was cloyingly sweet. Some salt and grated Parmesan helped doctor it up a bit. The scallops were odd with random lettuce leaves on the plate. Truffle fries, while tasty, were swimming in an ocean of oil which left a slick on the table. Out of the 5-6 popular Italian places in the Wilmington & Tewksbury area, my brother and I ranked this last. I would come here to get pizza, however.
We were seated right beside the bar at 6 in the evening. Extremely noisy. Very difficult to have a conversation. Food was excellent. Server very attentive.
I will definitely go back. I had my kids 9 and 11 and it was very family friendly.
My server was fantastic and very available. She was personable and the food was very good.
We have been going here on and off since 1972 when we first moved out of the city. Not much has changed since then except obviously the prices. Their food is OK, nothing special, not bad. Fine dining it is not, but they charge as though it were. There is an incredible Italian Restaurant on the same road about 10 minutes away that runs circles around Rocco's and is less expensive. We come back to Rocco's once every couple of years just to see what, if anything has changed. It will be another few years before we try it again if, in fact, we do. It is just ok.
It’s always a delight dining at Rocco’s. Excellent service & food. I’m never disappointed.
Food was great and the staff very attentive and professional
The atmosphere was very relaxing and comfortable. My wife had the fried clams and onion ring appetizers which were plentiful and delicious. I had the lobster mac and cheese which had plenty of lobster that melted in your mouth. The portions were plentiful and enough that we could take some home for an additional meal. I would definitely go back.
As usual, everything was perfect. Two of us split the Pompeii platter and we had enough left over for three more meals.
Thanks so much, we appreciate it.
Good food great service
This place used to be a great option for a nice date night...no longer. We have been coming here for more than a decade, but the last few visits have been worse and worse each time. Tonight's meal was over priced, had slow and disinterested service, and the food quality was terrible.
The overworked host took two different take out phone orders while we waited to sit down, the server didn't say hello and just said " what do you want to drink?," and the drinks took 10 min to arrive. We ordered the Thai shrimp appetizer special ($10.95), it arrived 15 min later cold and with two medium size shrimp on a skewer with three grilled chunks of pineapple and a bit of slaw. It was too small for the cost and a rip off.
My favorite dish, the chicken marsala with tortolini arrived cold and with unmelted cheese. The filling of the tortolini was cold so it never was heated enough to begin with. The manager happened by and took the plate to either warm it up or to make a new one. It arrived hot soon after, and was good but for $24 this should have been executed correctly to begin with. My wife's shrimp tasted like plastic or chemicals and she did not enjoy it either since she wanted to wait to eat our meals together and it got cold too. Overall a terrible value and bad service to boot.
I really want to give my money to a local business, but this new Roccos is not what it was in the past. Once I start paying over $10 for 2 cold shrimp I demand the service and food quality to back up that high price point. Raising prices with poor quality and execution is a formula for failure. Not going back.
Love the menu, ambiance and value. Scallop special was disappointing, flat taste. Vegetables were terrific!
Great food, service and atmosphere! Staff is very attentive and courteous. Never disappointed when I go here.
Went here yesterday for Mothers Day. Food was ok. It's not as good as it was when they reopened. That's a shame. The service was also strange. Waitress made a face every time we requested something. She kept saying "this is Mothers Day you know." Then she'd come back to the table and be really nice. It was bizarre. I don't expect waitstaff to makes faces or rude comments. The whole meal become about her weird behavior. It was not a good experience overall. I'll think twice before coming back.
Very loud! Felt like a cafeteria rather than a restaurant😣
Went here for Mother’s Day and had a terrible experience. The service was slow and the food was terrible. Everyone in our party of 6, including the kids, could barely eat their meal. My parents’ fish meals were bland. I had the grossest overpriced chicken parm I have ever had (usually my safe go to). The kid’s Mac n cheese was very goopy. We will not be returning.
I was here on a date and Rocco’s really came through. The ambiance is nice and homely, And the servers are really personable. The food is really delicious and great value.
We had a great time, great service, & great food.
A little more pricey than I had expected, charging an extra $2 for homemade pasta (after we ordered). But food was delicious and that's why I go out to eat!
Our waitress had very poor timing. We had to wait for a very long time for her to take our orders. She forgot one drink from the bar and we had to remind her about it-then once she brought it, it was the wrong drink. When we got her attention again she told us point blank “well I put it in the computer right.” She did exchange it but by now we were upset. When our food came, my meal was supposed to come with a meatball on the side. She asked if we needed anything else and I said we are missing the meatball that should be with this dish. She proceeded to tell me it was in the bowl with the ravioli. I questioned her and said that it has bolognese sauce but there should have been a meatball on the side. She continued to argue with me and pint at the bowl and said I would need to poke around because it’s in there. Needless to say we were unimpressed. She did send the manager over after we asked for the bill and didn’t want the leftovers packed up. He asked what the confusion was and I explained the meatball incident, he walked away saying you should get what you pay for. I loudly said not to bother getting one because we aren’t taking anything home, we were done. Needless to say we will never be back.👎🏻
I was looking forward to a nice plate of pasta and meatballs. Both were decent but the sauce definitely needs work.
Fantastic, as always. This visit was New Year's Eve. Great food with huge portions. Live music as well as TV from NYC. It was a great evening.
A friendly enviroment with amazing food and superb service.
From the moment my fiancee and I walked in we felt so welcome. The waitress was so kind. The food was soooo good! We order the Pompeii plate for two. It was wow! Didn't finish it. It is big! Will go back indeed.
I hadn't been to Rocco's in a few years. I used to meet friends there for drinks after work. Walking in last night I realized things had changed. It appears to be under new ownership and has a new Italian menu. I can't speak to the meals, some of them individually seemed reasonable but charging 7.95 for a side salad could quickly make a bill expensive when you add drinks and such. That being said, our server Shannon, a very nice waitress turned us on to the best deal in the house. Dinner for two for $30.00 dollars. It included everything, salads, eggplant plant parm, chicken parm, meatballs, ravioli, sausage and more. Surprisingly, they make a very nice homemade fusilli pasta and it's barely noted in the menu. It's a two dollar upcharge but well worth it. We make pasta at home, there's was good. The sauce was good. We had a mountain of food that came home with us and will be dinner again tonight. I can see where it's more expensive than in the past, but we had a great meal, great service and would ask to be seated with Shannon again. I hope they do well, we don't get there often but I like knowing they are a good local option.
We don't always spend this amount of money but it was my birthday and my 2 sons took me there 9/28. I had the scallops, which I have had before. I got 8 small scallops and they were a little raw. I took them home and heated them up and had a bad stomach ache. My son got fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The chicken was chewy but the Alfredo was good. My other son had chicken parm and said it was ok.
I ordered the eggplant sandwich....I ate it as it was good, but I've had way better!
Food was excellent; service not that good.
We waited a while to get our drinks and then had to ask for our bread, we saw other tables receive their bread.
Apps: none
Entrees:
I had the lighter fare swordfish - fish was fresh and the rest of the cooked well and delicious.
Others had cheese ravioli, baked haddock and a seafood alfredo, all complimented on the portions, freshness and taste.
Dessert:
My wife was looking forward to her favorite dessert, chocolate mousse, only to be told they were out. How can you be out of chocolate mousse??
Then, my son ordered the brownie sundae, only to be told they were out of brownies. Nonetheless, they did have desserts and enjoyed what they got.
I had the grapenut pudding. Now, my mother used to make gn pudding so, as expected, it did not measure up, but it was ok.
Overall, there were a couple of minor disappointments, but we had a very nice dining experience.
The staff was friendly and courteous.
The prices we're decent, not too steep.
This was our first time here and perhaps on a different night our service may be better.
I would recommend this place.
Mothers Day
Mother’s Day. Was good. Pizza oven not working!! 😟. Waiter was very good. Not sure why I was not checked in for reservation for this app!
Great food and kid friendly - it’s rare to find both!
A quick bit on our way into Boston for a game. So glad we took a cousin's suggestion - this is a neighborhood gem. Our server was Tracy and she was terrific. Knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. We had the RI calamari and Italian bread with cheese. The calamari was very spicy so the bread cooled things down. I've never had such delicious RI calamari! I had the fried clams (super clean) and fries and my husband had the chicken marsala. Both were delicious and my husband had left overs the next day. We are adding this restaurant to our rotation!
Food was good, coffee was warm not hot. Good time though..
We requested a booth but unfortunately it was located in the bar area. The bar was very busy and the noise level was extremely loud. It was not the restaurant's fault. The people were only enjoying themselves.
Very disappointed in our experience. Had the antipasto, and it was certainly a lot of food. The meats on the antipasto were mediocre--tasted like they were just bought at a local grocery store. The entrees were on the same level. The chicken marsala was so soaked in wine as to be inedible. The paella was just OK--not great, basic, could have done with more flavor. The pasta dish was the best, but I would not call it good. Service was good, ambiance OK, although not a real fan of the live music (others seemed to enjoy the music, so I'll accept their judgment).
Great meal, but slow service and too noisy
