Rockwood Grill and Blue Star Lounge
Ehab was a great server
We had an amazing time at dinner! Our server was so nice and patient with us with getting our toddler situated. We did the buffet and everything was delicious! We also found an interesting wine on the wine list. The service was excellent throughout the evening.
The staff was outstanding and the food was great! We would go back again next time we are in town.
The waiter took our order and forgot to place an order for one of our friends after waiting 30 minutes for our meal. The waiter took the drawn butter from my friend who was eating crab legs dipping the crabs in the butter and gave it to my other friend. He was too lazy to go in the kitchen and get another ramekin of butter to give to my other friend...Who takes food from one guest and gives it to the other. This guy had a full head of gray hair...he should know better! The waiter did not offer us dessert, nor coffee or tea. He just brought us the bill...it was quite obvious this older guy was pure exhausted from working. The seafood buffet was not well stocked on last Friday. The serving areas were dirty and food waisted on the serving counters throughout the buffet areas. I'm a certified food handling manager in CA...the health department needs to make an impromptu visit to this place on buffet nights really soon!
Wonderful menu, service, beautiful restaurant with amazing views. Favorite place to dine in Palms Spring, CA.
Food, location, and atmosphere was excellent.
The dining experience left us highly disappointed. We have gone every Thanksgiving and Christmas for the past several years. This year was by far the worst ever. The food selection was limited compared to other visits. The meat items were excessively dry and not appetizing. The pork was not even edible. The ham and turkey were very dry. The prime rib was delicious though. Even the dessert selection was limited and often not identified or misidentified. You had to guess at what the item was and taste it once you were back at you table to figure out what you had just selected. No tongs were available on many dessert items which required people to use their fingers to make their selections.
The service was amazing The setting relaxing. We had the buffet and were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food. If I were local I’d be a regular
We were staying at the hotel and decided to eat here for convenience, but ended up coming back the next night because it was so good! Everything from the appetizers, soup and salads to the entree and dessert were delicious and reasonably priced for the area. The restaurant itself looks great and the staff were eager to ensure our experience was exemplary. We even sprung for the over-the-top Pink Flamingo Milkshake on night 2 and were NOT disappointed! Would return on our next trip.
Food and ambiance were great!!! Service a little slow, but they were busy.
Excellent dining on property at the JW Marriott. The flexibility to request indoor/outdoor eating is a tremendous benefit. The menu has a little something for every appetite.
We sat overlooking the water, breathe taking views. Food was fanstatic and service was impeccable! Highly recommend for special and romantic dinners!
Sort of a nostalgic goodbye. Huge annual conference and lounge event that was noisy but still acceptable as it concluded.
Server was very attentive but forward in giving recommendations.
My Angus NY was a bit overdone and tough, leftovers the next day warmed was good. Softened in micro. The scallops that my wife ordered were huge, tasty and delicious on couscous with veggies.
The sauté mushrooms, salad and other food was also good.
We’ve come here (or previous versions) of this place with my family enjoying the boat ride for 20 years but are selling the property. A happy time.
Everything was perfect .
Quiet with excellent service and food.
Food good but nothing outstanding, overpriced.
Food was mediocre, server was pleasant, but pushy with recommendations that were unsolicited. My pasta was swimming in sauce with very little noodles and the seafood had a weird texture like it had been overly boiled? Anyways, the wine list was nice.
I was melting so was very happy an umbrella was set up for me... without me even asking!
Outside Patio- perfect evening experience. Service, food, ambiance is fantastic. Yes it’s at the Marriott Springs hotel so there are lots of people around, however I did not feel it affected our dining experience. Staff is friendly, accommodating and prompt!
Located at the JW Marriott, Palm Springs. Rockwood Grill and Blue Star Lounge overlook beautiful lakes/water features. Both have comfortable outdoor patio seating, delicious cocktail selection, and excellent food.
My friend and I both had flatbread pizza and they were outstanding! Quite possibly one of our top 5 pizzas...Ever! I HIGHLY recommend the Rhythm and Rhyme cocktail (substitute Makers Mark). I had several 😉 Friend liked the Dragon Mojito enough for a refill!
The inside decor was average, slightly dated, but very spacious. With the really tall ceilings, you don't notice the decor very much. Overall excellent choice for a leisurely lunch and cocktails. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Great ambience with birds, ducks, Swan and waterfalls in the background.
Our server was wonderful!!!!
Great food and they had a wonderful dairy free dessert I could eat.
Great food great environment!
Still a fabulous brunch. One of the best!!!!
I love this restaurant every time we sit outside by the water. So beautiful!!! Our table of 4 all loved their meals. The Burrata salad was great! Cocktails always good. Service was excellent.
Outrageously good food and very personable service. Also $$$$.
Table was ready and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Service was lightning fast, with drinks and appetizer within 5 minutes. Food was hot and fast, tasty, and portions were generous. Ambience and view from the dining room was great. Entree pricing was reasonable, but drinks and desert can double the bill quickly.
My goddaughter graduated with her Masters last May. She is now a professional counselor in the Tucson school district. This was her first fall break so we celebrated with a delicious dinner plus a beautiful sunset.
The ambiance was inviting and the specialized service was great. My guest needed gluten free bread and the restaurant is already geared up to accommodate those dietary requests.
We'll below Marriott standards. Drink prices outrageous. Steaks not prepared to order. When sent back, one steak didn't reappear for 20 minutes. Low quality choice or select cut steaks being passed off as prime cut steaks with addendent high price. Service was accommodating, but kitchen let the wait staff down. While vacationing at the adjacent Marriott Vacation Club, we always walk over to the J.W. Marriott for dinner, but will now skip the Rockwood. To their credit, however, we weren't charged for the entrees. That was the only good part of the meal.
Service was very good but food was awful and expensive.
Had the Buffet which is served each Friday and Saturday. Food was excellent good selection of sea food, Italian and America. Numerous different options to choice from.
The service was also excellent from a wonderful lady from Italy.
Good choice of beers wines and cocktails. I would recommend and return again
excellent service and well accommodating.. staff are all nice and superb.
The restaurant was very nice we didn’t realize they had a buffet option with a lot of different choices to choose from my fiancé especially loved the crab legs since it was precut for you without the hassle overall very nice!
We came to Rockwood Grill to celebrate the wedding anniversary of some very close friends. After reading the menu online, we were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a dinner buffet for $45. As soon as we were our servers introduced themselves and wished my friends a happy anniversary. The buffet was excellent - small batches of each offering so everything was always fresh. I recommend the leg of lamb! The service was almost too good. Water glasses refilled after each sip and plates whisked away while I was chewing the last bite. This restaurant inside the Marriott resort. There were several families dining there, so the noise level was quite high. This just added to the atmosphere. If you want a quiet dinner, this probably not for you.
Food wasn’t that great and there was flys everywhere. I could get a better meal in Vegas for half the price. But the desserts looked cool and tasted great.
Wonderful place for breakfast. Service is always good and the servers work cooperatively together to make sure guests have all they need.
Warning, it may be Buffett only and not regular menu.
My husband and I have eaten at Rockwood Grill quite a few times while staying at the Marriott and we continue to love it. I just want to tell you all if you eat there, get the dinner buffet. It’s not the largest buffet, but the best I’ve ever had. The crab legs are so good and meaty, and the shrimp are very tasty. I loved the
prime rib and mashed potatoes also. Oh my goodness, I’m getting hungry just typing about it. Great desserts also. Yum.
Great ambiance! We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful setting. May be a little too warm to dine outside for many who are not accustomed to the heat of Palm Desert. We enjoyed the lettuce wraps and a chilled glass of white wine which was perfect for the late afternoon snack!
