Roy's Rancho Mirage
We had a great evening thanks to David as always !
David gave us his usual excellent service and the food was fantastic as always. Love this place.
I’d like to preface my review of Roys with the acknowledgement that we have visited at least 5 different Roys at multiple visits. We arrived early then reservation and was seated promptly. We had potsticker and big eye tuna for appetizer. The tune was under represented in the poke, not a good quality with significant white connective tissue present. The lobster in the potsticker did not taste fresh, a little fishy. Ordered Caesar salad which was wilted, lettuce which was room temperature. I ordered New York steak medium plus, came back rare. After waiting patiently 10 minutes for our waitress to come around, we had to flagged our waitress down to tell her the problem. Explained to her the lacking of grill marks on the steak, but she said that the steak was braised. The menu doesn’t indicate that the new York steak is braised. Since my guest already finished with his entree, I initially told the waitress I didn’t want to wait but then the waitress insisted it would only take a few minutes to cook a new one. The replacement didn’t come around and had to flagged out waitress again to cancel the steak. Through out the entire experience, the manager never come to our table.
We went to Roy’s to celebrate my birthday. The staff were courteous and attentive. They went out of their way to make the evening special. The food was delicious. I had the incredible magi mahi-mahi and my husband had the shellfish combo. Both were outstanding. We splurged on sharing a chocolate soufflé and Roy’s added a complimentary dessert. I high,y recommend this restaurant.
Very nice evening out with my husband.
Excellent service. Food was not on par with previous experience.
Roy's is our favorite dining place. The food is always awesome, the service is wonderful and we just plain and simple love this restaurant.
Ambience and decor is excellent. Service was sketchy and forgetful.
This is my third Roy's restaurant attempt and always disappointed. Expensive for lukewarm flavorless dishes,
We always love Roys. We start in the bar for the Hawaiian martini and a Mai Tai. Then its off to dinner. The Butterfish is amazing and the braised short ribs are not to be missed. This time around we tried the bread pudding which is wonderful but he chocolate soufflé is still the best I've ever had. A great place for romantic dinners, or a small group of friends to go visit and enjoy each other-
Wow! We were lucky enough to get a table in the bar for happy hour! The food is always excellent as is the service. The bartenders are efficient and friendly. Coming back soon for the Monday special.
Waitress in bar terrific
Food always 5 star
Waited for 30 minutes to get a booth. Our choice as other tables were available.
Seemed like they were understaffed. Waited long time to order, waited for water refill. Waited a very long time to order desert then they were out of our selection. Cancelled desert and coffee and paid bill
No one paid any attention when we left even though three people were at front desk talking. No thanks for coming or have a nice evening.as you’d expect from Roy’s.
Great food but experience wasn’t great. Won’t be back for a long time. Lots of money to be treated poorly
Food and service were excellent.
This is a wonderful restaurant that specializes in fish preparation. We had the classic four fishes and the riper shrimp, with a side of beautiful asparagus. The dishes were all prepared well but our favorite was the mahi mahi-so delicious! For dessert we shared the warm pineapple upside down cake. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our meal. We hope to return for another tasty dining experience!
Food and service, as always were perfect. Noise level was a little high, but there was the next to the last World Series game on in the bar. No complaints from us, as we wanted to see the game and enjoy Roy's great food and drinks.
Mahala Monday is a real bargain. My lobster bisque was outstanding, the prawns ok, the pineapple upside cake world class. Service excellent except for the unexplained delay in seating. Have heard good things about their happy hour. The manager is top notch, checking tables, engaging patrons, watching the proceedings like an eagle.
The kitchen lost our order, our server kept checking and the manager finally became involved. It was almost an hour between our salad and the entrée finally being served. The manager did the right thing and comped our entire meal. Once the entrée arrived it was excellent. We have been to this Roy's location before and this has never happened before. We would go back!
Great meal from start to finish! I do wish they would bring back the Macadamia Torte which used to be a Roy’s staple years ago!
Great service and outstanding food. Just love this restaurant. Always outstanding
It was our anniversary. The staff congratulated us, when we arrived. Our excellent waiter, Chris, also acknowledged our special evening. the food, as always, was delicious and well presented. We had a great dinner and will be back.
Great food offerings. Respectful pricing. All in all great experience
As always, nothing but happiness due to the delightful ambiance and flavors of this wonderful oasis. I feel like we are taken away each time we visit. Please try and enjoy for yourself.
Our waiter was delightful and enhanced our meals and experience. Totally enjoyed by all.
This was an anniversary celebration which we usually spend at Roy's. We much appreciated the attention from your Managing Partner Tracy. However, our Server Amy was disappointing. It was 15 minutes before she came to the table to ask for our drink order. When the anniversary dessert came, which was complimentary, the wrong name was written in chocolate on the plate. Overall though, we did enjoy our visit.
The scallops and black rice are amazing! I highly recommend them.
The family came here for a birthday brunch for my sister n law, the food was great. I got the Benedict, the pork was amazing, I loved the smokiness of it, I do not care for the slaw though, way too sweet. My wife got the French Toast which was good but it was pretty standard, the birthday for got the loco moco which looked absolutely incredibe and she loved it! I will be getting that next time (without pineapples). I ordered myself the Ultimate Bacon Bloody Mary and I will say it is among the best ones I have had. Overall the food was great and the experience was fun, our server was amazing and was actually funny. I would definitely come back here again for brunch.
Roy's is always reliable. The intake process was smooth and prompt, even though I was a bit early for my reservation. The staff was attentive without being annoying. There were some new menu choices, and many items that I expect to find and in fact go to enjoy.
Love to share all those great small plates and seafood sampler. Macadamia nut mahi was so good
Nice place to dine at while in the area for business.
Excellent valet service!! Had a Travelzoo coupon and it was a great value.
Loved the environment of the Rancho Mirage Roy's in comparison to the Roy's located in Anaheim.
I have been to other Roy's at different locations and this one did not measure up as well. When making the reservation, I requested a quiet section because we had two with hearing issues. We were brought to the center and right in front of the grill. I said no and looked in the back and saw several spots. So we were seated in the perfect spot but then our waiter spoke low and very quickly with a strong accent. I had to interpret for the table repeatedly, especially since this fella liked to tell jokes and funny stories. The food came in a timely matter and was enjoyed. My potatoes and sauteed mushrooms had too much salt. We ordered the special lava cake at the same time as our meal, but still waited over 30 minutes after plates were cleared. The birthday gal finally had to go to the restroom. Of course the cake was brought then. I am used to better service from Roy's, but at least everyone loved their food. So I give this Roy's a 4 and hope that someone else's experience will be a 5. Our waiter did promote their weekly discounts twice. Good deals on Monday and Tuesday. I was the only one that understood him though.
This location is not up to the standards of the Hawaiian locations. Main course was good but sides were cold and not good. Pineapple upside down cake dry and not worth it.
I found Roy’s to be a very pleasant restaurant to eat. The food was excellent. Service was above average. The food and drink prices were very expensive, but I still had a pleasant dining experience.
Birthday celebration for my husband. Just the two of us. The food was excellent!
On vacation-nice place
From the doorman, hostess, waiter, bus boy......all were great!!!! The doorman even took pictures for us....if we had had change we would have tipped him too!! Loved the acknowledgement of our anniversary and the dessert plate with anniversary greeting was a very nice touch!!! Like the background music, however, in conversation had to compete for noise level from the patron chatter. Food presentation was awesome, waiter conversation was great. We definitely would recommend Roy's to our friends & neighbours. Having dinner at Roy's made our 50th most enjoyable.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary with a fantastic dinner. Food was excellent, service was fantastic. Enjoyed starting the evening with happy hour at the bar watching them make sushi.
Tried the other date of Philippines special and it was amazing !!

It’s always wonderful and excellent our waitress great
Always are special night out stop.
