Roy's San Diego Waterfront
We ordered the seafood sampler and the filet. The rice that comes with the seafood sampler was soggy and tasted like rice-a-roni. The sauce that the steak came with didn’t pair well with it. Service was decent and so were the drinks. Not worth the price.
Great place to get the family together!
Beautiful but not easy to find:(((
You park your then walk a long way to reach the restaurant.
Roy’s is always great in all aspects of the dining experience
Wonderful food - the butterfish is our favorite!
Excellent knowledgeable service. The sushi rolls and fish wasn’t bad but nothing I would go out of my way to come back for.
Food was good, but overpriced, service was OK, but not really refined. Just OK.
Really great food and great ambiance.
Too crowded with so much noise and because of the same crowdness, the meals were not being prepared with not much care.
Excellent service, great broad menu. Outside dining with great views of the Harbor. Everything was so fresh. Enjoy!!!
Salad was not how described. No butter lettuce, very little avocado, and cut up bits of shrimp. Very disappointing.
Great. Service was a little slow, but still very good.
Completely empty. Apps were ok at best. Meal was over cooked and basically awful.
" The Food Is Delicious "
We went to Roy's on the waterfront for an early dinner and enjoyed the beautiful Ocean views. Max our server greeted us, and was very nice as he took our orders and came back several times taking care of all of our needs. My wife and I shared some of their delicious and so tasty Szechuan Spiced Pork Ribs which are Smoked and Glazed in Roy's Original Mongolian Sauce. We also enjoyed so tasty and Crispy Chicken Spring Rolls with tasty Citrus Black Bean Dragon Sauce. We then shared a yummy Lobster California Sushi Roll. For dessert we enjoyed a freshly cooked to order Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Caramelized Pineapple, Baked with Brown Sugar on Pound Cake. Roy's is a great place to relax and have a very tasty meal.
We love Roy's! The sushi there is incredible! Our waiter Chris was awesome! Excellent dining experience!!
Not a fan of next-to-the-end cut filet mignon. Excessive grissle & fat for a $49 cut of meat. It was however cooked to perfection! Asparagus (side order) was barely blanched. Haricort Verts almost inedible, barely cooked. Server was friendly and thorough. Good guy. Awesome view and great people watching.
My wife and I went there to celebrate our 27th Anniversary. The service we received was 1st class. The food was great, from the appetizers to the main entree to the complimentary desert. Would definately make a return visit.
Terrible service and food. Will not be back.
Our waitress was delightful she checked in on us just enough was attentive and made suggestions. I had the mahimahi which was delicious and came with the perfect amount of sides. My dining partner had the filetmignon cooked perfectly as ordered. Good dining experience a bit pricey but worth it
It was our first time dining with Roy’s. We came here to celebrate my son’s college graduation and Roy’s did not disappoint. We had reservations at 5 pm, and had a flat tire, and needed to reschedule an hour later. Roy’s was able to accommodate our party of 7 an hour later. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The view of the bay was beautiful. We will be back!
This is a great place for a special occasion. The service is great, love the view of the marina, the staff are attentive and genuinely welcoming. Usually it's quiet, too.
Good service, we all enjoyed the evening...
Beautiful location on the waterfront with consistently great food.
Great atmosphere great service food was delicous will go back for Szechuan Ribs
We absolutely love Roy’s. We have been to many of the Roy’s in Hawaii, and enjoyed them all. Roy’s on the Waterfront did not disappoint.
At the bar, our server took a 1/2 full drink away without checking or asking... we didn’t notice and didn’t say anything on our way to dinner - which we now regret.
At dinner, our server made us feel rushed but kept saying she wasn’t rushing us... so odd. Then she picked up our bottle of wine with 30% still left, and headed towards the kitchen! We stopped her and she brought it back but didn’t apologize or even look to see her mistake... that is bad. You are obviously hoping to sell more drinks this way and we were not pleased.
Dinner was fair, and we were sufficiently unhappy to leave without dessert. Not the impressive and gracious meal we had hoped for- at all.
Food tasted great, and was presented well. The shellfish sampler was a little small. That was after an appetizer and salas
A wonderful meal and the service from Gilbert was outstanding!
Great place but service was slow
I love Roy’s. It’s always my go to when available. Arrived for an early reservation and the dining area was pretty much empty. Tried to get the hostess to give our party of four one of the many tables with a water view but was declined. Most of those tables were still vacant when we left. Dining in a waterfront restaurant with no view is not the best
Roys is predictable and we go there for that reason. The menu doesn't really change. They honored my request for a window table.....that's special at this location. The service was outstanding and we appreciated their substituting scallops for the jumbo shrimp that had an iodine taste.
Checked out the menu before making reservation. Very interested in the Hawaiian Poke Bowl and the sushi. Arrived and was seated...downhill from there.
Service was super slow despite the restaurant being almost completely empty. Waiter finally came over with the menus and not a single piece of sushi or poke on there. He said they don't serve it until dinner time. Had it not been a business lunch I would have walked out.
Ordered the fried lobster potstickers...they're so thin I they're almost breaded...and the fish tacos. Fish tacos were tasty, but the service was slow...and the prices high.
Coming from Vancouver BC we expect restaurants in top hotels to also have excellent food and ambiance this is expensive but leaves a lot to be desired
The service was amazing. The chef made scallops even though they weren’t on the menu. That is service.
We went at Roy’s for Easter lunch. We ordered lobster potstickers for appetizer and they are so good. For main dishes, I had filet mignon and lobster and my wife had a sampler plate of lobster, scallops, and shrimps with asparagus on top of rice pilaf. Everything was delicious including the chocolate lava for dessert. The server did a great job.
Wonderful table with view. Exceptional service! Delicious food. Everything was perfect. We will be back!
Been to Roys many times. My wife and I always enjoy a lunch date at Roy’s on the outside patio. Everything was perfect, food , drinks and service. We will be back when we’re in town again!
Roy’s provided the right environment for my business meeting.
The short ribs are always the highest quality. My partner had the Sichuan spare ribs that had so much meat on them that is is oxymoron to call them spare.
