   The Russia House never disappoints! This has to be one of the best restaurants in the northern Virginia area. The ambiance is delightful and the service is beyond my best expectations. The food is exceptional! We will make it a point to return more frequently.

   A wonderful retreat from the everyday experience. Do not rely on online pricing. It brought me in as being $$, but cost almost double what I anticipated paying. Definitely in the $$$ price range. If cool outside, bring a wrap. It takes a while for the heat to kick in indoors. Service otherwise couldn't have been more accommodating.

   Wonderful dishes and excellent bar. I tried and recommend the snails on mushroom caps appetizer and the duck breast entry. I also really enjoyed the Muscovy martini.

   Celebrated a friend's birthday and had a wonderful time. The food was amazing as usual, but the service is always above and beyond. Want a place for a special occasion, choose Russia House and let them know that you're celebrating. They will make it special.

    I love dining out and I appreciate good food, unfortunately, not here. This is the first time ever that I write a review and it’s not because of lack of experience dining out. Please believe me when I say that people come to me quite often when they want to find a restaurant for all types of occasions and tell me I really should write reviews- well, I finally felt compelled to do so. We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday, after reading many good reviews and only a few bad ones. He, especially, was looking forward to eating here. As many have said, the menu is not the same as on their website. They do have several of the dishes at a much higher price. I must start by saying that the owners are quite lovely, kind and attentive. The place itself is nice. The bread is wonderful, and the drinks were fine. So it was a good start, but it stops there. For appetizers, my husband ordered the Borsht and I the house salad ($15 each). Which were really a cup of so-so vegetable soup and a small non-descript salad you get for free at a family spaghetti place. The price was truly ridiculous for what you get. For our main courses, he ordered the chicken Kiev ($38) and I the highly recommended duck ($47). On the website, the prices are $29 and $41, respectively. I love duck, but again, not here. Firstly, you cannot request that it be medium rare, I was informed that is was because of the way they cook it -I was willing to take a chance. Well, it was eatable -OK at the most, but also had that freezer burn taste. At least it was better than my husband‘s chicken dish which was very tough, and the supposedly buttery inside was nonexistent, the rice was also subpar. Of the accompanying vegetables, I liked the zucchini. The kind owners did bring a complementary dessert with a candle in celebration of the birthday, which was a nice gesture. I should really stop here since it was sweet of them, but i will go ahead… the profiterole was like those that you get in the frozen

    Authentic family-owned gem! Great Russian and French food , terrific attentive service. Great vodka selection. Reason I gave 4 star on food is because 1) they were out of all caviar, 2) salad was very basic. Owners husband wife Alex & Homera drive family style personal service. We will be back!

    We always have a great experience at Russia House. The family owned atmosphere is so personal and staff is always very attentive. The food is wonderful. I recommend the scallops! The assortment of vodkas is fun and the cocktails are always good.

    Beautiful space in historic Herndon, friendly welcome, started with a selection of house-infused flavored vodkas served frozen (wonderful). Starters, salads, and main courses were beautifully prepared and served. Nice winelist. A great experience, bring your wallet, it ain’t cheap . . . but, worth it.

    Delicious!! Homera & Ali are the owners and they are wonderful. I recommend the Shrimp with brandy sauce as an appetizer. Dipping bread in that sauce is heavenly.

    I normally don't leave reviews, but must for the Russia House. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday. The food was outstanding, smaller portions and a bit pricey, but worth it! I wanted to lick my plate it was so good. For dessert they brought out a cream puff with a candle in it in addition to what we ordered which was such a cute and special touch!

    We chose this restaurant for a birthday dinner because we really like ethnic foods and had not had quality Russian food before. The ambiance is lovely and the restaurant is quiet, making for a welcoming atmosphere. The service was friendly, but slow. My husband had duck which he truly enjoyed and finished completely. I had salmon which was a little dry. We were looking forward to having some caviar appetizers, but were told that they cannot get good caviar these days, which I can totally understand. In general it was an enjoyable meal.

    Classic Russian/Continental restaurant in historic downtown area of Herndon. Well prepared food and professional but friendly service by owners. Great ambience. Not cheap for area but worth it. Free street or municipal parking nearby.
