Ruth's Chris Steak House - Columbia
My Wife and I always enjoy whenever we dine at Ruth Chris in Columbia SC. Keep up the great work!!!
Everything was wonderful except I booked the table for 8:15 and I didn't get to the table until 8:40
Had to wait 20 minutes even with reservations and there were available tables. Music was absurd for a high end steakhouse (Lizzo,Drake,Travis Scott) playing too loud. Wrong entree was presented and took way too long to correct. Located in a hotel and felt like just another ballroom. Very disappointed.
WATCH BUYING GLASS OF WINE OR DRINKS. HAD 2 GLASSES OF RED WINE AND 2 JWBLACK SCOTCH. BAR BILL WAS OVER $35.00 FOR THE 2 SCOTCHES AND OVER $30.00 FOR THE TWO GLASSES OF WINE.
Steak we each had were perfect. $43 per steak...... well it was about the best filet i ever had. The hostess ..... well all at the front greeting us great. Our server had a fake smile and ask if it was our first time. She was the main let down. I had to ask, does a potato or anything come with steak. For the price she didnt do the best job. Food and drinks perfect. Special occasion so $165 alright once or twice a year. The music did NOT go at all with atmosphere. I would all around give it 4 stars
My first experience at Ruth's Chris was overall pretty good. The food was amazing and I loved the ambiance. Our waiter did forget my cocktail but it ended up getting it on the house. We were seated near the kitchen so every 30 seconds someone was yelling "CORNER". We made jokes but I'm sure someone with little patience would have been easily aggravated by it.
Trying Ruth Chris was like a “bucket list” thing for me and I’m so glad I did. My steak could have been....a little better. But I loved my wine selection as well as the calamari and lobster Mac & cheese (TO DIE FOR!!). Service was phenomenal and everyone was so nice! Loved it.
Our server was not very good. Hardly came to the table.
Food price isn't worth it! Mac and cheese needed salt and pepper. Crab cake was delicious but too expensive.

Small portions for the price compared to other fine dining restaurants. Servers were average. Quality of food has been better in the past.
we got there early first table of 4 placed beverage orders then ordered dinner Salads took a bit to come out - we were only part way though salads when entrees arrived - the runner could tell this was not good so left with meals
approximately 8 minutes later when we finished the salads the meals came back out
obviously not as hot as they should be and had to send onion rings back as they were barely tepid not hot but they did replace them
took a bit to get a second bottle of wine
server was very nice went before a concert and since we were the first table at 4:45 thought service could have been a bit better
Experience was ok. Only issue was that one in our party had never eaten shrimp before in her life. Since we had an issue with parking the waiter brought over a complimentary shrimp appetizer which she ended up having a terrible allergic reaction. We were able to take our food to go and eat it as leftovers the next day. We really liked the dining experience until she had to leave because she became so Ill. My only recommendation would be that in the future maybe offer the customer a complimentary appetizer of their choice.
I love this place - My only complaint was that I made a 6:30 PM reservation, arrived at 6:25 PM and wasn't seated until 6:40 PM. We were starving but no big deal. The food, the presentation and our waiter were all outstanding!
We had a outstanding early Valentine’s dinner. Our waiter Ken did a excellent job and his professionalism was greatly appreciated.
I made a reservation and was seated timely. The food was really good. It took a long time for our food to come out and people who arrived after us had their food before we did. Food was very good. Steak was sizzling but sides were a little cold. Still an overall good experience. Very pricey but high quality.
We made a reservation to celebrate Valentine's day on February 8th for 7:30 pm... we weren't seated until 7:45. We think when you are spending $200 for a meal, you should not be kept waiting.
The waitress "Stephanie" was very gracious.
We tipped her well...as she deserved.
The porterhouse steak was delicious and for $129 should be delicious.....$12 for 6oz of wine seemed a bit much so once and done..... the garage was very convenient for parking and very well lit..... we parked our own car and paid only $4 compared to the $24 they wanted for a valet. We didnt mind the walk at all.

I was looking forward to a nice meal with my son. Food was fair at best. Steak was completely over cooked, fish and sides were super salty and the presentation was the worst I’ve ever seen...ever! Service was professional but slow. Super disappointed.

My husband and I went for our anniversary. It was nice that everyone congratulated us but that’s where the nicest ends.
It started with my drink made wrong. Then we never received our bread and then a server came to our table and asked if we wanted more bread and we told her we didn’t get any bread. We waited and then our original server came back and said, “You guys didn’t and bread.” It was just bread, why all the fuss. My husband got his steak and it was just mediocre. I ordered a 2.6 pound lobster that came out dry and overcooked. I couldn’t asks for another because they had no more in that size.
We eat out often and we go to steakhouses often and Ruth Chris is by far the worst. We would have been better off going to Outback.

Very disorganized last night. Reservations were for 8 . Not seated until 8:35 after going to the first table, had to go back to lobby and wait to have table set correctly. We were finally seated about 8:45. Server had too many tables, so he was not too attentive took a while to get our bottle of wine. When bill came there was a charge for something we did not receive, so. Bill had to be corrected. Very disappointed

They were out of several wines. After 4 trips to tell us again they were out of wine, we finally landed on one. Shame the sommelier didn’t know his inventory. Michael the waiter was great, food was amazing as always.
I have been going to Ruth's Chris for decades (there are several in NY where I am from originally). No matter if the server is slow, unattentive, or seems to forget my table, the food and general ambiance still makes for a great dining experience.

First time at this restaurant, but have eaten at Ruth's Chris numerous times. We were staying at the hotel where the restaurant is located to celebrate my husband's birthday by going to a show at a nearby venue. We were asked at the restaurant reservation desk if we were celebrating a special occasion and I said yes, his birthday, but after that, no recognition of it was made by staff. Our food was excellent, but service was a bit off. Everyone was polite and friendly, but there seemed to be some confusion as to who was actually waiting on our table. We were greeted by a young woman serving water and another with her who was training. They told us our server would be with us soon and we'd get bread. It was a good while before our server arrived. She took drink orders, that took a while to arrive and we had to ask another server for bread. More than once we had to ask someone passing by for things. Again, everyone was nice and the food was good, but the service wasn't what I usually expect at Ruth's Chris.

We ate early but happy hour at the bar had just started and the noise level grew irksome as we were leaving. That was very minor though as everything else was great.

Continued problem with dress code not being enforced. This is a really upscale, nice restaurant, but I'm very disappointed in what they allow the other patrons to wear.
Ruth’s’ Chris is always exceptional and they definitely did not disappoint. Every was excellent.
Our waiter Ken was amazing, he went above and beyond to recognize the occasion that we were celebrating. Truly a special night. Thanks to all.

Over all experience was exceptional. The only thing I was not in awe of was the calamari. It was lumped together and batter didn’t cook completely.

The menu had many options and the servers were wonderful! Friendly, efficient, and the wait time was based on us and not the kitchen. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides were delicious, and we enjoyed taking our time to dine.
