Sabor De Cuba
Tasty food, excellent service. Many dishes quite imaginative, but the veggie entree was too bland.
Good food and service near the theatre. Empanadas were tasty, pork dishes were very good, and tasty dessert.
The whole evening was great. Our server was very attentive and polite. The food is always top noche. You can’t go wrong when you enjoy any of their meals.
The food here was amazing! The staff were friendly and the meals came out pretty fast. I will definitely visit this place again!
A consistent go to restaurant for us. Always great!
The waitress knew what she was doing and talking about. Easy to get along with and made great suggestions. I will definitely be back!
Family Valentine’s Dinner was fantastic. Food was delicious, service was fast and pleasant, despite being a super busy night. We had two grumpy kids before we walked in, but everyone walked out with smiles. Thanks so much for a great meal!
The soups were delicious and the sizzling shrimp appetizer is excellent!
We always love Sabor de Cuba! If you are looking for authentic Cuban food, this is the place! Our waiter was attentive and friendly, even though he was working as bartender also! The handmade cocktails are the best! Ask for the garlic bread to start - it’s to-die-for! Everything we have ever ordered has been great!
While we were very much looking forward to our first visit to celebrate a birthday, we found the lack of flavor to be very disappointing. From our appetizer through our entrees we had to salt and pepper everything. For a Cuban restaurant that smelled so enticing when we entered it was just okay. We even brought home a Cuban sandwich for my husband and without a saying a word he described it as bland. For the money it wasn't worth it and we'll not be rushing back. There are just too many outstanding restaurants in Frederick to repeat a mediocre experience. The service however was fantastic.
Out server (Amy) was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained dishes to our guests that had presten Cuban cuisine before
The staff were extremely friendly, even the ones in passing. Waitress was very clear as to what the meals were like (description). Noise level was high around the bar area, but we were seated away from that. Besides one mixed drink being a little weak, we thought all the food was great...and served hot. Yes, we have recommended eating here to others.
The food was incredible. Best to make reservations (on an assumed busy day like Friday or Saturday). The waiting area is very small, but once we were seated our waitress, Amy, made it all worth it. That was my first time there and I’m definitely going back.
Our server made some excellent suggestions for ordering traditional cuisine. Would definitely go back.
Always a great meal!!
In all of Frederick MD, Sabor de Cuba has been my favorite for many years. I have tasted virtually everything on the menu and have never found anything that wasn't wonderful! The well trained staff members go out of their way to ensure every aspect of the experience is pleasant.
We had reservations but they gave our table to a party that walked in after us by mistake. Took 20 minutes to get a table.
The food was average and not very hot and came out piece meal so we were not all eating at the same time. Our waitress was good, however.
We came to celebrate a birthday and had an excellent meal and a really good time.
Sabor De Cuba is a great spot for casual dining when one wants good food in a fun atmosphere. Diners need to be prepared for a boisterous level of music and conversation, however. It's nice to have a different type of cuisine available.
Everything about this restaurant is fabulous! The location, easy parking, the service, the food, the place itself. I’ve had Cuban food at lots of restaurants, I live in Florida. This was by far the best place to eat authentic Cuban food. I highly recommend that you try Sabor De Cuba when you are in Fredrick, Maryland. And after dinner, you can shop at the many shops along the street.
I sat next to the 4 top table by the wall next to the bar. I do have issues when a party is waiting for their table and people standing around my table and others while I’m eating. Would you like that to happen to you? Annoying
It is my second time. Had a blast, good food and drinks. My husband enjoyed so much, we are thinking of going again in the future.
Never disappoints - delicious food, great service at a reasonable price
The food was good, but the service was horrible. Went on a Friday night. There was only one waiter, she was friendly but overworked. Drinks didn't come out until after our entrees. We were told the bar was behind. When we got our food and drinks she would forget our plates and straws, so we had to wait even longer. Food is great but not worth the wait. I didn't feel good about paying such a large bill for such mediocre service.
The service was great, but...our wine and beer were warm. They brought our meal before we finished the appetizer. The pork dish I ordered looked like rocks and was very dry. I sent it back and just ate the rest of my boyfriend’s Cuban sandwich, which was very tasty. We won’t be back.
Will return as we really enjoyed our meal and friendly service.
Hostess greeting not the best but food and table service makes up for lackluster greeting and helpfulness upon entry. Had reservations and had to proof so with my open table email. That being said, the beef empanadas are delicious and waiter was grea.
My wife and I have always enjoyed our visits. On this occasion, my favorite hold red snapper. Love it.
Sabor de Cuba deserves a 3-1/2 stars but OT doesn’t do 1/2 star. We didn’t order appetizers as we were to have drinks at a nearby place. We had Albondigas, the special of the day and Picadillo and they both were good. The meatballs were a bit salty for my taste but the flavor was good. The service was also good. We will definitely come back to try other things on the menu.
Food is always consistently delicious and you get what you expect when you reorder the same thing time after time! Service is great! Cocktails are made to order fresh and delicious - no mix all fresh.
Great food and great service!
The service was friendly but very slow . The room was apparently under or un air conditioned. The room was super moist. But other than that it was a good experience. Probably won't go back because we found that Cuban food is not a favorite, but we're glad we tried it.
The regular margarita was the best I've ever had. The sweet plantains were excellent and so was the deep-fried chunks of pork. A similar dish I enjoyed in Miami employed lime juice with the pork, but Sabor De Cuba supplied a lime wedge instead. Still very enjoyable and the second time I ordered the same dish so it must be good.
My husband and I made a 7:00 reservation for dinner after a Frederick Keys game. I offer these details for several reasons: we were dressed VERY informally but didn’t feel underdressed, we didn’t have to drive far from the game, it was good we made a reservation.
The food was excellent: mojitos, empanadas (fried), Bistec de Palomilla, and a special of the day: chicken breast in a crema sauce. Everything was excellent—including the Cuban espresso. Amy, our server, was magnificent! In fact, when I asked her about the sauce for the chicken, she brought out the special ingredient from the kitchen so I could see the label. The final tab was a real bargain, so I hope my husband left her a generous tip.
The only complaint I had was the noise level. We eat at home a lot and are used to quiet; the few times we’ve been out recently, the noise level doesn’t facilitate conversation; this restaurant was no exception.
The food was fabulous and very reasonably priced. Service was a little slow but server was friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely will go back there next time we are in Frederick
Great food. Great staff. Love this place. Vaca Frita! Yucca with garlic sauce! Plantains! Pernil! Chicken a la Plancha! Sizzling Shrimp! And more.
Always a great experience with friendly staff and great food!
Excellent food! My entire group was very happy.
Excellent food and friendly service. I ordered the pernil and my wife ordered the ropa vieja, both of which were full of flavor, filling but not too heavy. We’re coming back for sure!
Everything was great, the music was so loud though you could barely talk
