amazing food! fantastic service! would recommend!
enjoy the variety and quality of food at the buffet line. The tandoori chicken is the most tender & delicious I have ever tasted.
Great selection for lunch buffet. Good price at $15.00.
The food was excellent, with good portions - suggestions made by the server on how much to order were perfect. The food was served quickly, appetizers were not rushed so we could enjoy everything without feeling hurried. The overall ambience was neutral - it was nice, but nothing exceptional to bring us back.
Good food - not foodie type quality but very respectable curries and friendly eficient staff. Try to book a seat by the window if you can - they also have a chef's table.
This was our first time eating out in vancouver. while it was a bit pricy (par for the course) the manager did give us a great bottle of wine for the cost of the "house" wine and didnt hesitate to turn the lights down to set the valentines mood! I would recomend Salam to anyone... the lunch menu looked great too!
Food was fantastic, service was just as good. Best Indian food I've ever experienced.
Our group of 5 for lunch enjoyed the buffet for $15 - all the food you can eat and unlimited Naan bread. I was in heaven. The food was good and attentive staff made sure we wanted for nothing. Most of the dishes were very good, except the butter chicken which tasted quite dry (and it was only 12 noon, so it likely wasn't sitting all day).
The price was ridiculous for the teeny weeny portion received. Food was average, nothing to do back flips about. They try to charge you for EVERYTHING. We went with a party of 15 people, so unfortunately, we were blindly paying for whatever was on the bill. Plain white rice was $3.50 a bowl?! We were all served a bowl even though some of us didn't want one. We just thought it came with the curry. Naan was brought to the table, again we thought it was part of the meal. No, it was $2.50/piece. I wish the server/host could've been more honest about the charges. The bar has a flat rate of $10 for single high-balls and glasses of wine. As my title suggests, from start to finish, it was just a total rip-off. Dine at your own risk.
The food was Fantastic, we did have to wait a long time between courses but Because we were a bigger group it was totally fine as it gave us more time to chat. The staff was very polite, we will be going back soon. I put the noise as moderate becuase it was our table making noise no one else's
Food seemed over-priced when every littlle "extra" was added in. Staff were very (almost too) attentive. Food generally disappointing compared with other Indian restaurants in the city.
halibut and naan bread were overcooked.
I like the food here and the service is usually good. Some nights you need reservations, others you can walk in right away - there's no real pattern there. I've been there weekend nights with both.
This isn't your standard greasy Indian food. It costs a little more (you have to order the rice, bread etc. seperately) but I think it's better quality ingredients. It says it serves Traditional Indian, but I think it's more like Modern Indian with a Western influence. Tasty still.
Great view for people watching. The food was quite good~
Had Dinner in Salam Bombay recently and the whole experience was satisfying. The portion size was plentiful and the food tasty, the staff were friendly and attentive.
I had dinner here on Jan 3 and the place was very quiet for a public holiday. The butter chicken and wild boar curry were both quite good, and I especially liked the naan. The decor was a bit strange though since it looks more like a Chinese dim sum restaurant.
One of the best Indian food restaurants in the city. The food was really good and the service was great. It's geared to casual fine dining and not expensive. My wife and I love Indian food and have been to just about every place in Vancouver; we highly recommend this place.
The food was absolutely amazing, and the staff were extremely attentive. We had been looking forward to a good Indian and this really fit the bill. Each dish was slightly different than what we expected - in a good way! I can recommend the cheese and spinach nan bread, also the onion bhaji to start. I don't think any of the curries would be a bad choice - everything was delicious. Our seat overlooked Burrard Street and the busy city lights, it was nice to be inside eating a fantastic meal while people rushed by under umbrellas - yummy!
It was not a great experience for us. The food overall was dissappointing., though the breads were good.
We enjoyed the food overall, the curry dishes have distinct flavours, and while portion was smaller than other types of ethnic foods, it was very filling. The waiter made some good suggestions for choices of dish, but was a little too eager to decide our dishes for us. The lamb soup was definitely watery and would not be recommended. There was a mix up with our order for naans, but we decided not to ask them to fix it as we were already very full. We used coupon without any trouble. Owner was very nice and the waiters were attentive. Seemed like it's a new restaurant as ambiance is lacking and the tables used for dining seem to be fold up tables that were covered by table clothes that are too small. Overall we enjoyed our experienc
We had an outstanding experience. The comfortable sofas in the bar area made for a comfortable, but very short, wait for a table. We would have been happy to linger longer with a glass of wine, if needed. We are vegetarians and there were many vegetarian dishes to choose from on the menu. Vegetables, spices, rice were all done to perfection.
We enjoyed all the food that we ordered at this restaurant. We are by no means experts in Indian cuisine, but the food was flavorful and fresh. The one thing we did encounter was the lack of sufficient service. We observed several tables waiting for water, checks, etc. We feel that this place has alot of potential for being a great addition to the food scene in Vancouver, but improvements will have to be made in service and smiles.
It was the best indian we have ever had in Vancouver!
We went for the lunch buffet. It was very good but not great. There could have been more of a selection. The service and location were great and the quality of the food that was there was outstanding.
Wonderful Indian Food. The service was slow but fine because rushing a meal isn't the purpose of dining out. The 3 course dine-out menu was delicious but wasn't really a deal (based on the menu prices per dish). Dine out menu needs to add a vegetable course because it was strange to have an East-Indian meal without any of the amazing vegetable curry dishes that go with this cuisine.
Relaxed atmosphere. Good buffet selection. High quality food.
