SALT Kitchen and Bar
We were meeting friends who had traveled up from RI for a short getaway. 3 of us are hard of hearing so we definitely needed to find a quiet restaurant. Since it was a Wednesday night, SALT was fairly empty and we were given a corner table away from the main seating area. It was perfect! We ordered appetizers, salads(which were divided for 2 people) and some side dishes. Everything was wonderful! Only my husband ordered a full entree(scallops) which was also delicious. We were very happy with the service and attention. When we opted for no dessert, our server brought chocolate truffles to top off the meal. This is a very elegant venue and great for celebrations and special meetings. Food was exceptional
The food and service was so lovely we are returning for Easter brunch. The lobster roll was huge with chunks of claws on a homemade hotdog roll with fries. My husband had half portion of fresh mushroom ravioli with pork belly on the side. Ended with sharing a chocolate budini for dessert that was delish. Nice wines by the glass and cocktails. Our server, Lauren, was great. Loved our lunch so much we booked for Easter brunch which also is my husband's birthday. A very extensive menu. Looking forward to it.
Dinner Was Amazing, Worth going back for a second round.
Food was outstanding. There were 5 of us at dinner and all meals were excellent. The service was equally top shelf. And the place is stunning. Fire in lobby and dimmed lights in dining room were elegant . We will be back!
From the moment we walked into the restaurant we knew this would be a special experience. Beautiful decor, historic ceiling painting, nice scenery out the windows.
Our server, Luiz, was very attentive and informative.
The food was great. My chicken spaghetti dish was delicious. Pasta perfectly cooked, good mix of spinach mushrooms and chicken. My husband had chicken saltim6on mashed potatoes. He loved it!.
Haley made for memorable evening for my daughter and I. Not to be ever forgotten, tremendous meal, service and I will be back.
I wanted to treat my husband to lunch at Salt on his day off. We arrived on time and the restaurant wasn’t busy. We were placed at a tiny table in a dark area without service. We waited 20 minutes and finally just left. Staff didn’t seem to care or notice. There appeared to be no management of the restaurant whatsoever. We live locally and absolutely will not return.
Hailey (our waitress) was wonderful! Great personality. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was romantic. A wonderful night.
Great night. Pleasant staff.
2.5 hours slow
The ambiance was great. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We had a great time. Highly recommended.
The food and ambiance are generally quite good, but the service always seems to be lacking.
Food was meh. Service was horrible. Seated 15 minutes late. Waitress was not friendly or personable. The entire restaurant was a cluster while we were there. Should’ve just eaten in the bar.
All the food was wonderful! I was a bit disappointed that the menus was not quite the same as the menu on line. The serving of muscles was a good size meal, where as the serving of delicious lobster bisque, was surprisingly small for the price. Service was great!! A great lunch.
It was good
Loved the Salt salad with spinach, pomegranate, pecans, and parmigiana reggiano. Also had the lamb chops from their appetizer menu—one was a good size but the second one was rather skimpy! At another restaurant recently we were offered four small lamb chops for a similar appetizer, so this was rather surprising, especially as the SALT Kitchen is usually rather generous with its portions.
Other meals over the Xmas holiday at SALT included their delicious Umbria flatbread and their massive lobster roll—all were generous in size. In fact, they were large enough for two meals!
Christmas Eve dinner with the family was so special at Salt!
I expected better. The hotel is gorgeous & so is the restaurant. Our waiter was not very attentive & the restaurant was not very crowded. We had to ask several times for someone to find our waiter when we needed something. Cappuccinos were served cold & he said it was because of the machine. Lunch was very good - but just very slow. We were served the wrong drinks & he was not well versed on food allergies. At all.
My Favorite time of year at the Marriott Wentworth, It is so Beautifully decorated for the Christmas Holidays , It makes you feel very special and festive. The Food, Service, charm and Ambiance are exceptional and the dining room with the mural on the ceiling is magical
Salt is one of our go to restaurants in the area. Always good food, great staff, wonderful ambience. We are lucky to have such a great spot here on the Seacoast. Be careful - the Martinis are big!
Sunday night. Service so slow. Food came out lukewarm
We tried the Prix Fix meun during restruant week so we could try several things. Meatball app was fair, salad was good (would have been better, but our fault as my wife has a blue cheese alegery). Dinner was good: Chicken off th menu and harveey risioto.....but the desert was amazing!
We loved it! The food was fantastic, and the service was outstanding! We will definately be back.
The food was fairly average. I did the restuarant week deal with a salad, risotto, and dessert. My husband ordered from the menu. His was unremarkable. My risotto was fabulous and I would definitely get it again. The salad was good but the lettuce was icey which isnt needed for a cold November night. Pecans were raw and I felt they could have been roasted or candied. The blue cheese was outstanding- it made the salad. I ordered the bead pudding for dessert and it was good. For a restuarant named Salt I would have expected exotic salt on the table or at least a salt grinder. We had an overall good experience but nothing that stood out to inspire us to return.
We had a wonderful experience at Salt for a special occasion dinner. I will be dreaming of the espelette oil and bread which was so uniquely delicious and different. The chicken was absolutely divine and our server, Trish, was incredibly attentive to our every need. We always have a great experience at Salt and recommend to anyone new to the area.
We had a delicious lunch here. It was restaurant week but we chose to order off the regular menu. The turkey panini was outstanding. My husband had the lobster roll and said it was awesome too. Fun drink menu as well and great service.
Our son was in town for business, the SALT Kitchen and Bar was perfect to spend the limited time he had. I would definitely do it again when he has a return trip.
Anniversary dinner. Delicious and not rushed. Creative food.
Our waitress was significantly over worked and unable to deliver the good service that she was obviously capable of
Food great but service a little slow.
As always the service was impeccable, our server, Luis, was exceptional and the food was delicious. We choose Salt for our special occasions.
Disappointed on this visit . Had to wait for a at least 5 minutes before some one seated us. No one was at host station. Was at least an half before we received water and had our order taken. Also didn't like that some items on the menu have changed. Used to have a delicious haddock entre. And a vegetarian (mushroom ) risotto . I am allege rich to to shellfish, and regret there are notwo more plain fish options.
Simply EXCELLENT! It was later in the evening and we wanted a nice place to eat and what a surprise we got from the Siri suggestion. Beautiful decor, exceptional music....and I can’t say enough about the food - it was over the top delicious! I had the salmon and my sister had the scallops - both were great!
Nice setting. Great location. Inventive menu. Friendly server. But they messed up our order twice. Food was very good, just not necessarily what we ordered. Net-net: we thought it was good, but it could have been great.
The atmosphere is wonderful along with the food and staff. We try to eat here once a month.
Girls night with my daughters
My husband and I booked dinner for our anniversary. The place is absolutely beautiful, a historic old hotel with an fully updated, modern restaurant. The service is very friendly and down to earth. The servers make you feel right at home. Haley was our server and was fabulous! The food is delicious, perfectly prepared and pleasing to the eye. We were very happy with all aspects of the experience and will definitely be back.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food was great and the service was excellent.
Service and food were outstanding.
We could hear a table 4 tables over talking very loudly about medical issues.
That said it was a great experience. No value tho when you pay $15 for a small glass of wine! The wine was great, I only comment because I was asked about value.
