Service was very slow. Continually had to ask multiple times for almost everything that we ordered. Was told I would be cut off after 2 beers and a glass of wine in an hour. Steak was overcooked twice. We believe it was the same steak when sent back and returned. I ordered Medium rare steak it came out medium to almost well done with pink center and gray throughout the cut of meat. then the 3rd steak provided was rare with cool red center, which I just ate because I was hungry. Limited Valentine's menu was not told to us prior to reservation or once it was booked. Was refused to be told draft beer list. A real bad experience at a place that I have been too before and enjoyed.
First these jerks gave away our reserved table in a special reserved section right in front of us! Then made us wait for 25 minutes and tried to seat us at the bar! Even though they kept telling us our table was almost ready multiple times. I called them out and they confessed . Was totally unbelievable. But they also went in to open table and changed our reservation !
How cute right, brilliant people running the seating. I will never return and we were consistent customers.
No apology, no comp, nothing , just a “well we can seat you in regular dining area. “ Thanks for screwing up a special night!
Food Service Drinks were great! We enjoyed the whole evening
I order salmon and baked potato The dressing for the salmon and the potato was extremely salty it was imposible to eat. I requested the left over to go since I couldn’t eat even 3/4 of my food and honestly never expect an expensive place will ever wrap the food with plastic wrap as they did. The other plate was a filet medium cook and my husband couldn’t eat either it was to raw but as least not extremely salty as the salmon was. The experience was really uncomfortable. I understand was a busy weekend but the food was really poor.
We went to dinner on Valentine's day. Menus were limited because of buisness apparently. We went with peppercorn sirloin and twice baked potatoe. Food was amazing. Wish we had more to choose from but this being the best option worked for us. After we ate. I paid the bill and my card declined? Embarrassing. Luckily I had a another credit card on me and it went through. Called my bank after. Bank said nothing wrong with my account the waiter entered in my expiration wrong. Thanks for the embarrassment waiter. Food was great though and solely because of that I would definitely return.
Valentines Day was the usual at Sam’s...never disappointing !!
OMG what a disappointment! So when we showed up early with reservations we still had to wait! Girls at the bar very unorganized. When we got our dinner we had the wrong potato. Could be overlooked but the waitress says oh that’s because you got the wrong order!! The wait for anything was ridiculous!! No comp for wrong food or messed up order. My steak was awful so waitress takes it back. Brings me same potato that was on the plate but no steak. When I finally got the steak it was horribly dry with no seasoning! Christmas decorations still up!! My husband sat in his seat and sunk. Oh and the girl busting tables took our salads as we were eating them. Guess she thought we were done! I had no utensils to even eat with!! Thank god it was not worth eating!!! Go to the restroom on way out and toilet was so low you can barely get up!! Was filthy with paper towel machine broken! Very tiny trash can overflowing!! For $200 I expect better!!!!! Not a free dessert or anything!!! AND THE PLACE WAS NOT BUSY!!!!! Will definitely discourage any friends and family from going to this establishment!!!!! So disappointing. Ruined my husbands birthday dinner!!! Wish I knew I could post pics because I would have taken them!!!
We TRIED to have dinner at Sam’s on Valentine’s Day. Our reservation was for 7:30. We were finally seated at 8:15. Ten minutes passed before our waiter acknowledged us. We ordered appetizers and drinks, and then, after careful consideration of their special Valentine’s Day menu with its extra-high prices, we ordered our entrees. When we had finished our appetizers our waiter asked if we were ready to place an order for our main courses. ??????? We told him that we had already given him our order. He said that he didn’t have it, he must have lost it, and he then started tossing little slips of white paper with scribbled menu items onto the table and asking if any of them looked like our order. What?!? At that point it was 9:40 p.m. We were tired. We were hungry and we had just had enough of overpriced menu items, a bizarre and neglectful waiter, Will Ferrell on piano, we were just ready for it to all end. We paid our bill and went to retrieve our coats from the coat-check, only to find that they had lost our coats. We actually had to go into the coat-check area and look around until we found our coats. We will not be returning to Sam’s Steakhouse.
Valentines Day dinner. Had reservations only had to wait about 15 minutes. Food was very good
Absolutely! Valentines Day was SO festive and just beautiful. Food, service....outstanding!
Nothing else like it! It’s the BEST!
My reservation was for Valentine's Day evening. When we arrived, they only had a limited menu which the prices were almost doubled for everything! You wanted to charge $58 for a chicken breast??? No notice when I made the reservation that there would be e Pre Fixe menu and nothing on the website to indicate that either. Very disappointing.
I must say it’s the first time we went to Sam’s and left completely disappointed. We went for Valentines Day and because they are so busy there is a set menu. Substitutions were not allowed. We had the shrimp cocktail, salad, baked potato, twice baked potato and the large strip steak. The shrimp was good but my husband can’t do the seafood so he didn’t have the first course. The salad was fine. We dine at Sam’s often and don’t care for the twice baked potato so we shared the baked potato and the twice baked potato went uneaten. The steak was just ok. Not a cut of our choice. The service was frustrating. We felt rushed because we were constantly asked is they could take something away at times while we were still eating. (Shrimp) I know Valentines is a busy night for Sam’s but when you are accustomed to consistently excellent food and service this was disappointing. Will it keep us from returning to Sam’s? No! This is a family favorite where we celebrate holidays and special occasions but we won’t return when there is a set menu.
The service was great!
Food was excellent. Service and atmosphere were great. Was a little noise. Waitress was very accommodating to the thins wife is allergic to. A bit pricey.
Our reservation was for seven and we didn’t get seated until 740 and refills on tea wasn’t very good but other than that food was great
Food was great. Service mixed. The Busser was outstanding attending promptly to our every need. Waiter was a bit on the slower side.
Our server was absolutely amazing. I hate that I do not remember his name, but he was very easy to talk to and do amazing.
We had a lovely dinner last Saturday night (2/8/20). We were a little taken aback by the Christmas decorations that were still up! But they were cheerful and gave off great ambiance! Our waiter was very polished, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. Even though the place was packed, each course (drinks, salad, entree, and dessert) was served in good time. A very enjoyable evening!
We came to Sams to celebrate my dads 80th bday. We were seated immediately and ordered appetizers and drinks. The toasted ravioli were amazing but unfortunately the rest of the meal went downhill from there. Our entire party was served potatoes that were cold and steaks that were not cooked properly. While I did not want to cause a scene on Saturday, I decided to call the manager on Monday to share my concerns. His response was that they cook the potatoes in bulk and it is the waiters responsibility to heat then before serving. He blamed the incorrect steak temps on older kitchen equipment. Needless to say, it was a disappointing experience for everyone.
The experience was amazing. We had Art as our waiter and he was great and very friendly. We had been there many years ago, loved it then and love it now! LOVVVE the Christmas lights, too.
We were all so pleased with the evening spent at Sam's Steakhouse. We had a table of 14 family members there to celebrate a 90th birthday. The food was wonderful, and our server, Bradley was outstanding!!! WE will be back!!!
We have not really been disappointed with the service/ food at Sam's Steakhouse, which keeps us coming back on special nights, of course b/c of the prices. :-)
This was just ok, there 6 oz steak is about as good as Texas road house. For a quarter the price. Don't get me wrong it was not bad, but for 97.00 less tip. I expect much more. Average at best.
We were in town from Colorado for our anniversary. The food and cocktails were amazing. We went to the bar afterwards for dessert and champagne and listened to the piano player. Everything was perfect. The service was amazing all around.
Disappointed at no coupons in entertainment book or elsewhere
I have never been to the steakhouse before. The food and the staff was outstanding! I will recommend the steakhouse to everyone.
One of the best ribeye steaks I’ve had in years.
Sams has always been a favorite. No real complaints on the food but waiting a hour between salad & entree was not ideal. Our waiter was very apologetic and did comp my husband a cocktail. I have read in previous comments that service has been a problem so for the time being I probably would not recommend Sams to friends.
Over priced. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The atmosphere was nice. The service was great. The quality of the food was lacking for the price. The appetizers were very much like bar food. The steaks were good, but not worth the cost. The steak was the same quality if not a little under our local TX roadhouse. I wouldn't tell anyone not to go... but I wouldn't recommend it either. It's a mediocre resteraunt with a high dollar price tag.
Steak was great but the salad was average and the sides were average and for the price they should’ve been better
Been to this restaurant at least 4 times in the past 10 years. Took my son, his girlfriend, my husband and myself and my younger son, 5 people. The bill was $460 for 5 people. Food was average but the service was absolutely appalling considering the cost. Our reservation was at 7 and we were promptly seated. The server came by and asked if we were ready to order. We asked her to come back in few minutes. This usually means less than 5. Well 30 minutes later I had to track her down and tell her we were ready to order, now at 7:40. She looked at me like she had no clue. From the time we ordered at 7:40, our dinner did not arrive u til close to 9, maybe later. Server never checked on us or let us know when the dinner will be done even after sitting for over an hour. I’ve had much better service at IHOP and Denny’s. The service and the food has gone down hill tremendously!! Also, take the Christmas decor down!! It’s January 23rd!!! Etiquette says to take down Christmas Decor on Jan. 1st. It only added to the horrible service and uncomfortable dinner experience. I don’t see this place staying open much longer.
Another great birthday dinner in the bar area.
Disappointed in the level of service for a restaurant of this standing and price. Went on a Thursday and they were not as busy as a weekend seemed to have only 1 waitress for about 8 or so tables. Not enough!! We sat with empty drinks for more than 10-15 minutes more than once. Advised when reservations were made that we were celebrating a birthday yet not even an acknowledgement or simple happy birthday from anyone. Second visit where service has been sub par so I think it is now the norm. Disappointing.
have been a long time patron of Sam's, always feel comfortable and welcome, only a few times has food not met expectations (less than 5%)
Excellent food and service. Could have done without the Christmas decorations in the second week January, but oh-well.
We came for my fathers birthday. LFood was good, but little steep in price. Our food took over an hour to come out & we were seated next to a large party who was very loud. Our entire dining experience was almost 3 hours which we thought was a bit excessive. Not sure we will return.
Have always enjoyed going to Sams for dinner. The food is always top notch and the service can’t be beat.
They never let us down
Sam’s has something for everyone on their menu and offers delicious selections. The service is excellent! The filet or chicken is my favorite along with the spinach salad! Their house dressing is a rice wine vingerette which is not only delicious but a healthy low calorie choice!
