Sant Ambroeus - Southampton
I had the Tuna carpaccio appetizer and Sea Food Risotto and both were incredible! The selection of wine by the glass is always exceptional especially if you do not want to drink a whole bottle. The service is the perfect balance of attentive but not annoying. I have been to other Sant Ambroeus restaurants and Southampton and Palm Beach are my favorite. Worth every penny for an amazing experience every time.
Very good chicken medallions with mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. Very average spaghetti. VERY expensive.
The best Italian food and service in the Hamptons!
The food is always exceptional. By far the best restaurant in the Hamptons. We were six and ordered one extra dish to share. It was my husband’s birthday. Everything was prepared with care cooked perfectly and incredibly delicious. Pasta just right, veal tender and delicious, linguini and clam sauce divine. Service impeccable. A fantastic restaurant with high quality food and service. You cannot go wrong.
Love this restaurant. We had such a lovely dinner. The food is delicious and the service is so friendly. Can’t wait to go back
As always wonderful
so accommodating and made the birthday celebration special
Enjoyed the excellent prix fixe on a Thursday night in winter!
Incredible 😀🍷👍❤️. So delicious. Everything was
Five stars. The ambiance, the food , the service .......
Just everything. The people that work there are so
Friendly and accommodating. Thanks
Always a great experience. Service and food top notch.
It was my first time dining here and I loved it!
The service was attentive and friendly.
Standout appetizers were the grilled octopus and tuna tartare.
We each had equally delicious pastas. I have never had a better tagliatelle alla bolognese.
Perfect place for Saturday lunch with friends.
Lovely place but our chicken was rubbery and tough. Couldn’t even cut it with a knife. That said the polenta was delicious and the wines by the glass first rate.
The food, service and ambience are always top notch. My family and I have been coming here for more than 20 years and it never disappoints. The specials are always wonderful.
Wonderful food, service & experience
For the price point I expected a very good experience. We were visiting from DC and traveling with our dogs so we sat at the outdoor patio. 1. A friend of the waitstaff (waitstaff brought food out to the driver and passenger) without disabled decal parked in front of the restaurant. We had a decal and had to park several doors down. 2. I asked for aioli and was not given one, the person acknowledged my request which led me to believe I would be getting aioli 3. I had to ask the waitstaff to refill my glass of water and she walked right be me, filling the water glass of another diner sitting with me 4. We ordered another side of roasted potatoes and it never arrived. I had to walk in the restaurant and to ask for the bill and only then was told our potatoes were given to another table.
I’m glad we only ordered the overpriced paninis and not the overpriced pasta, because I just wanted to leave and forget about our lunch experience.
I celebrated my 50th birthday here. The service was terrible, as in it seemed like you were short waitstaff. Took forever to order food, and longer to receive utensils, water, and wine. Food is not as good as used to be.
Our server was incredible! Food delicious, as always.
Delicious food and fantastic service. What more could I want?
My husband and I were very disappointed at this place. While the outdoor seating area was lovely, the food was less than stellar. We ordered broccoli as our appetizer and it was soggy and bland. I ordered the breaded veal with arugula and tomato salad. The veal was tasteless(no seasoning) and extremely dry. The staff seemed annoyed(and rude) when i asked for a steak knife(twice). We will not be going back.
Dining in the proper dining room in the back of the establishment was outstanding. This is the best restaurant in the Hamptons. You get what you pay for. Worth every penny. But bring a lot of pennies. You will
Love this restaurant
Great veal cutlet Milanese. Cold asparagus also good.
Exquisite, as always! Everything from the food (especially fresh out here in the Hamptons), to the service (friendly and charming) and the ambiance (the Alley is like a lovely little secret garden) was superb! We love coming to Sant Ambroeus, time and time again.
The service, normally excellent, was nonexistent. No idea why, since it wasn't crowded.
The food was superb. The service was poor. We arrived at 7:00. No one took our order for 25 minutes though there were few diners present. The waiter took the order from the table next to us and ignored us completely. Then the bread server brought bread to other tables and left without serving us. We had to speak up to place our order. Diners arriving at 8:00 were advised of specials which were never offered to us. Very stressful beginning but the food was wonderful and almost made up for it.
Nice restaurant; however, extremely expensive for what you get.
A wonderful anniversary dinner. It’s our go-to special place.
We had dinner reservations at 815pm, however it took us about 20-25 minutes to be finally seated. Other than that, the food and service during the meal was very good.
Best meal we’ve had in The Hamptons!
Perfect . It’s like being in Europe in the summer when one can sit outside in the alley
The Alley was a perfect setting for our anniversary dinner. Cocktails were excellent as were the entrees we ordered. Waitstaff was personable and professional.
Very good service, exceptional food, wonderful atmosphere. Pricey, even for the Hamptons, but for an elegant evening it's worth it.
Mediocre everything- food and service did not measure up to the charm of the alley!
Simply extraordinary! Preparation of food was exquisite. The service was extremely professional and the setting in The Alley was magical. Best dining experience of the year.
The vongole pasta was just ok; nothing special...had to send it back since pasta was too al dente.
The food was excellent. The service was mediocre. Although it was a small restaurant our servers seemed so busy they did not have a lot of time to help us. Tables were very close together so other diners felt as if they were dining with us. The noise level was pretty high. I would go back b/c the food was so good.
Well, basically we had reasonable good food with only a name to relate it to true Italian cuisine. What do you make of a Vitello tonnato that consist of excellent meat, a weird creamy fishy brown butter and pickled (!!) peppers? And the most strange risotto I have ever tasted. Please go back to true, simple but tasteful italian cooking. You did a great job with the coffee and the pastry, try it with the food also. Food: 6/10, wine: 7/10, coffee: 9/10, pastries: 8/10.
