It was above all our expectations. The restaurant was very clean and took all the necessary precautions to be COVID safe, taking our temperatures when we arrived, wearing masks, tables at safe distances, and downloaded menus. The food was absolutely delicious, two of us had the lobster fondue with the homemade pasta, my son had the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly. He loved the creamed spinach. My husband always gets the same thing, tuna entree and tuna appetizer. We had the soups, awesome. The prices are high but worth it when we can do it. Everyone loved the drinks, especially the old fashioned. I highly recommend Shipwreck Grill for a special night.

We made a reservation for a weeknight — on a cold January evening for a birthday dinner.

As always the food is excellent— terrific fresh seafood and great wine list with innovative dishes.

HOWEVER. We were very concerned about how crowded the dining room was. Tables are way too close together. There appeared to be several larger tables , people paused and standing over other tables and talking, without masks. It made my family very uncomfortable and concerned while COVID rages

We elected to sit outside, since it was a special occasion otherwise we would have just walked out. The porch has plastic around it with no open air ventilation but we were the only ones , so we kept our coats on and made the best of it

We will not return until the pandemic ends.
If you are at all concerned about COVID I would avoid inside dining. They are clearly not following guidelines.

Never had a bad meal at this restaurant! Fish is always fresh and delicious! I do miss sitting at the bar however. Hopefully once we get covid under control things will return to normal somewhat.

Very good meal. A special occasion restaurant for most. Soup could have been hotter. Grouper was excellent.

Food was incredible. They were pretty busy and our main course took a little longer to get to our table, but our servers were great and even gave us a free round for the little bit of the extra wait : ) (and it seriously was not a big wait!) Will definitely go again and would recommend

Christmas Eve dinner, outdoor dining, on a windy night! This was our first time here. Obviously it would have had more ambiance inside but we ate on a covered patio area that was well heated and tables were well spaced. The food was fantastic! So many interesting things to choose from! The cocktails were great too. Definitely more upscale and on the expensive side but worth it.

Wonderful dinner on Christmas Eve. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. The Lobster Burrata appetizer had big pieces of lobster. For dinner, I had the Veal Chop special. Also, they take temperatures during arrival. During these COVID times, I appreciate that. I have nothing bad to say about our experience or our dinner.

We sat outside is the covering area which was a little chilly. Most people wore their coats. I had a draft on my feet. The service was spotty at times. We had to look for our server. The food is expensive but good portions and delicious. Same with the drinks. Dessert is total worth its value. We were disappointed that only one person sang happy birthday to my sister, considering most of the workers were standing inside not wearing masks. Our server was hustling and cleaning glassware.

Consistent may not be sexy, but the Shipwreck is consistently fabulous. We've been eating here for many years and they always hit on all cylinders. Definitely the best restaurant in the area.

Very impressed with Shipwreck Grille. It was our first time there, as we don’t live close by. It is the first restaurant to run a temperature check on our foreheads when we arrived that I’ve seen the entire pandemic. It put me at ease that all the staff and other diners had been checked as well. The staff was very attentive and the dining room was well appointed and cozy. The drinks looked as good as they tasted and the food was impeccable. I had to stop myself from eating every last bite. Check this place out if you haven’t already done so. They also have a HUGE bar, that looks like a fun time, when the bars reopen in NJ.

Absolutely delicious, every time we go never a bad meal or a bad experience, always a 10. Food pairings are great and the service is impeccable. Shipwreck is a must!

We were a bit disappointed. Totally understand check in with covid is different but we're were not acknowledged for 10+ minutes. We were a few minutes early but still.
Appetizers (oysters/peppers/burratta/wedge salad) were great.
Our entrees shrimp scampi, surf and turf, grouper and scallops were all just ok. No one raved. Sides were cold etc.
The strangest part was dessert.
One person ordered creme brulee that was ok. The other the apple crumble. When the apple dessert came it was basically a boiled Apple with a scoop of ice cream. The flavor was okay but very underwhelming. So we kind of joked with the waitress where's the almond crumble and salted caramel sauce part of this dessert-almost like it was not finished. She said it's usually underneath looked saw that there was no crumble/sauce and did not acknowledge it again. It was odd.
We have been a few times and it's always just ok. For a $400 meal at will go elsewhere next time.

Liam is the best! We are looking forward to having him again next Friday!
