Stable Cafe -Biltmore Estate
We had a great experience! The pimento cheese dip was fabulous as were our entrees of the roasted chicken and farmers salad. Faye was our server and she did a wonderful job as well.
My husband and I were visiting the Biltmore House because it was our anniversary. We made reservations at the Stable Cafe. The good was very tasty. Service was very good. Can’t wait to eat there again!
The food was amazing! So happy to visit. I have been there before, but I wanted to take my daughter.
We had a reservation for 1:30 PM and were seated within three minutes of the reservation time. This was impressive given that the restaurant was busy and the restaurant was on a wait. Paula was our server, and she was friendly and attentive throughout the meal- with drink refills, to check on our food, and to offer dessert and bring the check. We ordered the sampler platter and the chicken. The food was excellent and amply portioned. My only complaint was that we did not save room for dessert!
Carlos was an excellent server. Food was delivered literally minutes after ordering. Carlos was very attentive but did not crowd us. A great climax to a relaxing day at the Biltmore.
Excellent all around! Great food, a variety of foods offered, and gracious service..
Food was just O’K. Spinach in my salad was “swimming” in dressing. The trout was good and my husband said the BBQ sampler was O’K. Not as good as I remember it. Hope it is due to recent reopening and food quality will improve.
Delicious quality food while visiting the Biltmore Estate. The BBQ shredded beef over grits was flavorful and tender and the grits were more like soft corn bread. The traditional hamburger and fries was very large and tasty. The food was fresh and the service was wonderful considering masks and social distancing. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time since there’s less tables in the dining area.
We had an exceptional time it was my daughter’s 16th birthday and her first time about more our server they was polite attentive and very well-versed in the menu the ambience was great and the wait time we had an open table reservation I was taken care of right away
Excellent food with friendly staff
Great service. Good protocols in place. Food was excellent with a good drink menu.
Our food was very good. The portion sizes were not too large or small. I didn’t like not having a choice of sides. You get what comes with it and that’s it. Although good it’s overpriced. The whole menu is overpriced. Much like being at a theme park. I feel like the experience wasn’t “souther”.
Amazing place to visit, we always love the atmosphere and food!
Was a bit noisy but the food was amazing and our server was so gracious. Great first visit.
Good restaurant, nice spot to stop while you are at Biltmore. The cool atmosphere makes up for the food- but the food is good.
An excellent place for lunch, right beside Biltmore House. It makes it easy to do a morning house tour before lunch. Lunch was yummy, but very pricey for lunch.
Our foods are fresh and tasting, small values though. our waitress was a nice lady but we had no idea how she got so many additional items added into our bill and charged us $166 for a lunch. The actual cost should be $77. I don't often double-check my bills but did that day. She corrected it. However while the $77 was charged into my credit card, this $166 was also charged into my credit card (in pending) . I will keep my eyes on it.
My advice: Always double-check your bills, especially when dining in a restaurant at tourist sites.
Food was delicious and true southern barbecue. Our waitress was wonderful!
We were a party of 4 dining before our tour. We felt very safe throughout. Everything was all about social distancing and masks. Our table was plenty far from any other. Food was delicious, beverages were refilled often, even asking if we wanted to-go cups. I love Stable Cafe and recommend it highly.
We loved our visit to the Stable Cafe! We had a wonderful, attentive server. The food was also delicious. Eating in the stable was a unique experience.
Usually, this is my absolute favorite place to eat when I’m at Biltmore. As an annual pass holder, I’m there several time a year. Unfortunately, this time was a miss. I ordered the roasted chicken and it was pretty dry. Usually when I get this meal, I also get mashed potatoes and broccolini. Unfortunately, they had neither of those sides. So I was stuck with french fries and potato salad. I would have gotten the green beans, but I don’t like green beans with onions in them. The french fries were overcooked and the potato salad had no taste other than the celery that was in it. I really hope this is not going to be the way of the future for this restaurant. I will give it another try the next time I’m there, but if it’s another bad experience, I won’t go back. :/
Delicious food, convenient services (reservations were simple and after I checked in they texted me when my table was ready so I was able to look around and shop while I waited) the staff was extremely courteous as well!
My family was visiting North Carolina at The Biltmore, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch here. The unique historical setting, varied menu, and excellent service make it a great choice for adding to the Biltmore experience.
As annual Passholders, my sister and I use to come to Biltmore about once a month. My favorite on the menu is the chicken salad croissant, but with the limited menu it is not being offered. I got a hamburger instead and it was delicious. A good second choice since I couldn’t get the chicken salad. The wait staff there is always friendly and accommodating. Hats off to working under stressful conditions and still maintaining a 5 star rating
40th Birthday lunch! Ended perfectly with a “Happy Birthday” strawberry shortcake. Farmers & Vegetable Root Salads were delicious. The warm Pimento Cheese Dip is a must!
Order the chicken if you like a sweet rub on it ...it was the best! They also let you sub your sides if you don't like the choices listed. We made our reservation at the Stable Cafe prior to taking our house tour.
It was fantastic! Leslie, our server was awesome!
I know there’s a pandemic going on but if your going to charge me 20$ for a burger don’t leave me packets of ketchup and mustard to spread on my own burger. Maybe ask me if I want these things in my burger instead?
Very friendly and good eats unique place a must place to eat if you go to the house
Our wait staff person was Donna. Efficient cheerful and prompt. All dishes were flavorful and good quantity.
Even though we were seated about 20 minutes past our reservation time they continued to check in with us face to face and proactively gave us a on the house appetizer when they sat us. Food and service were amazing
The food was very fresh tasting and delicious. Our service by Paula was great!
Great food and great surroundings!
We made a reservation but were turned away at our reservation time. After 15 minutes of waiting in the heat, we were texted to come back in, only to wait for another 5 minutes. The table was not ready for us. We were unimpressed with the food quality, given that we paid nearly $80 for the meal and drinks. The burgers we had were overcooked.
Eating at the Stable Cafe was an enjoyable experience overall. The setting of a stable is quite unique, which was the best part. Our waiter didn't write down our orders, which I know is common, but he made several errors on our order. Our 4 year old granddaughter had to wait a very long time, 30-40 minutes after other meals were served, to get her correct order. Her father asked the waiter about it when he finally checked on our table about 15 minutes after delivering our meals. We truly believe that the correct order wasn't placed until after this request. Most places would've removed the charge for our granddaughter's order from the bill, but our waiter didn't do that. Instead, he brought a dessert for the table to share, which wasn't something a 4 year old would enjoy, and he felt like he had done something really special by giving us a dessert to share. I recommend the managers allow wait staff to write down orders if they have trouble remembering.
Service was very good. I had the smoked chicken salad and it was fine. I would like to see a few more items added to their menu. Choices were limited.
We had a great lunch! We all tried different things and ecryobe was pleased. Use open table to reserve a table. The service was excelkent
The Stable Cafe is just fantastic. When your food is better than you imagine, the surroundings continue to please at every new turn and the server bends to your needs based on a good read of the table, one cannot go wrong. At one moment, I realized I needed a refill just as she walked away, I then said, “I’ll bet she brings me one without asking.” Sure enough, just a few moments later, she brought new drinks for 2 in our party that had empathy glasses. The food was outstanding. A welcomed southern experience for sure. We wanted The Bistro (closed) or Cedric’s Tavern (booked), but I believe neither could have been any better than this meal.
Sampler platter was meager at best. Small chicken, veggies slim, presentation weak. Very noisy with removal of tables. Will want to eat elsewhere on our next visit as new pass holders.
