Stack's Evening Eats
This was our first time and we will be back. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken. The calamari special was some of the best we have ever had. I had the flounder with crab special which was very good. Looking forward to trying Stack's again.
Overall average but not exceptional. Not pretentious at all. Offered us seating next to bar for a reservation made well in advance for a special occasion .We asked for a booth and were told not available but several booths were empty. Then came back and said something had just opened up. Asked why we couldn’t reserve at 6:00 instead of 6:15 since 90% of restaurant was empty and were told people were all on the way... think about it, our table was empty at 6:00 but we could t reserve until 6:15. I think they must not start staffing until 6:15 which seems strange. Top sirloin was dry and poorly prepared with little taste. Vegetables were cooked well. Flounder stuffed with crab was tough on outside. I couldn t cut it with fork, had to use knife. Atmosphere was nice in booth but very dark and difficult to read menu. Waitperson was nice and very positive and gave her positive opinion about the food . It would have been nice if she had actually tried to get our opinion instead of pronouncing “I see you are really enjoying the food” simply because we were eating it. Coconut cake was good but way too heavy on icing. Overall we probably will not go back as will choose restaurants with something more special to spend $32 per entre and celebrate a special day.
As usual, great food and service, a lovely restaurant for a relaxing evening.
Been there many times. Excellent, innovative menu and good value. Highly recommend trying it. Need reservations, very popular place.
can't help ordering tuna nachos every time. this time missed wasabi; however, did not tell waitress. the tomato basil soup delish. beet salad really wonderful.
Food was very good . Wine was excellent and at a very good price. Service was very attentive and personable
Less than average food. The grits were not appetizing. A friend ordered her burger well done, but it had pink in the center. The cocktails weren't properly made. Good service.
Had a ladies night out. The wine, meal, service was wonderful as always. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Mt.Pleasant and can’t wait to go again.
Food and service are almost always excellent, but we ordered the Braised Chicken on this visit and it was disappointing.
Everything was excellent!
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone’s appetizers were delicious and dinner selections were outstanding. The wine selection was very nice and the bar looked so inviting but we were in a booth and the noise level was very low and conversation was easily heard. My only regret was that I was too full for dessert! Can’t wait to return. Truly a neighborhood gem.
The restaurant was really awesome and the food and service was excellent! My wife and I was celebrating our first wedding anniversary and they recognized us made us feel special and took good care of us and we will return there again
love the tuna nachos and beet salad - w/ice tea, perfect dinner
Delicious food, great staff. Highly recommend this place. We will be back.
This is one of our favs and consistently very good food and service. My salmon was a little bit over cooked this time, but this will not stop me from continuing to patronize Stacks. Flounder with grits is always a winner with my husband.
Always great food & service....everything is slways great.
Excellent fish dinners of flounder and red snapper. Brussel sprouts were very tasty as appetizer.
Delicious and great service!
My husband and I are vacationing in Charleston and heard there were some hidden gems in Mount Pleasant. This is one of them.
The food and service are very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our main course (generous portion sizes) but our favorite thing was the appetizer - roasted Brussels sprouts. Even if you dislike Brussels sprouts, you will like these!
Overall good experience. The restaurant is very noisy and a bit dark. We had reservation and were seated in the back behind a partition right next to the wall. If you go ask for a table up front. The quality of the food was good. We started with the tuna nachos, the were fantastic. I had the flounder, it was fresh and cook perfectly. The grits were good, but could of used some salt. The butter beans were under cooked. My date had the tuna, she liked the fish but the sides were not her favorite. The potatoes were cooked well but not very hot. As for the value, Stack's is advertised as a $ in cost but, cost is definitely $$-$$$ so don't be surprised.
Loved the food it was so delicious. The environment was nice and service was good. Highly recommend!
Absolutely Loved my First experience at Stack's!!!! Would defenetly come back next time I am in town.
We had a great evening. The food was great. Everyone liked their entrees.
My family has eaten at Stack's Evening Eats a few times and the experience has been excellent and consistent. They do a great job of taking care of their guests with great food, great service, and a friendly/fun environment. I'd highly recommend a visit!
My wife and I had a lovely dinner at Stack's Evening Eats. Genuinely friendly and helpful people, and really good food.
From the outside, Stack's looks like a strip mall store. Inside it is tidy and clean and inviting.
We had halibut and flounder, and both were excellent. There is a full bar, and a very reasonable wine list.
Very much worth trying; we will return.
This place never fails for me. Always great menu selections, and their "specials" are always on point. Small, reservations recommended, but great atmosphere and friendly servers. Always want to go back.
Excellent meal and service-comfortable and casual.
Parsa always provides us with a very comfortable and welcoming experience.
Awesome eats & drinks! The Flounder was simply... AWESOME!
This little gem is often overlooked but shouldn’t be. The food is fabulous and always consistent!
The staff was very friendly and worked to ensure we were taken care of. We ordered the flounder & grits which was tasty. They were responsive to a request to swap out the butter beans for their spinach, but the spinach was honestly pretty bland. Also ordered their fresh ground burger - was really just your average burger. So, in a nutshell, we thought the food was pretty good, but the prices were more "downtown Charleston" and not commensurate.
The food was delicious. We had the truffle fries, brussel sprouts, and pork chop (my wife and I shared the meal). Pork chop was cooked perfectly. The Irish whiskey au jus really made the chop stand out. The bacon braised cabbage was the best I've ever had. Brussel sprouts were crispy and the dipping sauce really elevated them. And of course, fries with Parmesan cheese and truffle sauce is always a winner. Looking forward to going back.
Fish is always excellent. This will be a five all the way across the board except a little loud and if a little more comfortable.
Food was good!
Great Foodie spot, Fresh product, great waitstaff and owner. Tuna Wontons Awesome and the Flounder and Grits will fill you up for sure...
The food was outstanding and the service was excellence. Will definitely go back when I am in Charleston again.
We had guests visiting and wanted to go some place where we could talk without all of the crowd noise. Everyone’s food was terrific- 4 clean plates and the wine was great! Can’t wait to return.
Delightful bistro tucked away in a shopping center. We would have preferred a booth In the back instead of a table by the door, but the meal was nonetheless enjoyable,
Great menu variety and quality. Prompt service.
Great food, service, and value. I love this "hidden spot" and you must make reservations because it's a small place and fills up very past. Never disappoints.
Highly recommended Mt. Pleasant restaurant. Locally owned, and operated for many years.
