I would give 6 stars if I could. Evan is an amazing chef and it’s not an exaggeration to say that we felt like we were on chopped (minus the crazy stressful cooking part) save up and get dinner with wine tastings here-totally worth it!
Took my boyfriend there to celebrate his birthday - The plates Evan made were beyond expectations, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, it was the best dining experience we have ever had. If you go in with an open mind and an empty stomach, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for a lovely night, Evan!
Great concept dining in the kitchen while watching Chef Evan Hennessey create exceptional dishes. We enjoyed every course and each wine pairing he selected to pair with the menu. The food was impeccable! The only thing I would recommend is a bit more wine served with each pairing. I found myself wanting more with every course. For $65/pp the wine pairing should have flowed more freely. We will return for sure, it's well worth the experience.

This place was amazing and one of the most memorial dining experiences one could ever have. Would encourage people who are worried about COVID to go since they only seat one party at a time.
Absolutely amazing. Not only is Chef Evan a prodigy in the kitchen but he also provides unbelievable service and you can tell he has a passion for what he does at Stages. More than satisfied with every course, worth every penny.

This was a very intimate experience and the most amazing meal! The dishes are so thoughtful and creative. Unbelievable flavor profiles and the wine pairing was so delicious. Thankful we did this and would do it again!

Excellent experience. Chef was so approachable. Taking the time to explain each course and answer any questions. The food was tremendous. Sad I live so far away in NJ that I will not be able to get back there soon.

Amazing & unique experience!! We were at the kid’s table & were able to watch the Chef cooking from very close 😉 The various meals & the wine pairing (highly recommended!) were excellent. Will definitely come again!!
We go to Stages a couple of times a year. Stages is located on the third floor of an old Mill. There are only eight seats, located in the kitchen. It's a prix fixe 10 or 12 course meal. Everything is farmed, foraged or caught locally. The food is highly innovative and the meal is always a great experience. This is a restaurant for serious foodies.

Stages is the most amazing experience on the seacoast. The food is unbelievable, prepared right in front of us. We get to hear about each dish as it is prepared and served. If you want a dining experience, this is the place to be.
We celebrated my husbands birthday here. It was a unique experience. Each course was beautifully crafted. Wonderful setting at the kitchen table which surrounded the open kitchen. We did the wine pairing with dinner which I highly recommend. My only suggestion is to perhaps describe the wine pairings in more detail, reason for wine selection and how it complements the course. Overall, highly recommend!

Chef Hennessey is a magician with food and when dining with him you get to watch him at work in the kitchen and ask questions of his processes as he goes and taste those creations one bite at a time.
If you want a dining experience one course at a time, you have to try Stages at One Washington...
Only "complaint" is that there could have been more time between courses. Overall a great experience though.
One of the best dining experiences in New England. Chef Evan is a true master of his craft. Everything he provides is exquisitely prepared and creatively delicious.
It's a little pricey but worth it. The opportunity to chat with the chef as he works in a super-relaxed atmosphere (you never have to worry if you're using the proper fork) was very interesting. I would also recommend doing the wine pairing. The wines we had were outstanding and very well selected.
An intimate seating with just two couples, and our chef/host/food artist Evan, with no kitchen assistant. The food was exquisitely finished and assembled before our eyes, nine courses full of delightful surprises. The wine pairings were sensational. Evan provided commentary and answers to all our questions about the food, its preparation, origin, and unique characteristics. An unforgettable evening! The most memorable restaurant meal I have ever had in 30 years of food experiences around North America and Europe.
Your a guest at Evan’s kitchen counter talking to him and other guests about each dish. This is an experience like no other. As a returning guest I was again amazed at the flavors of each dish and the selection of wine. I enjoyed the whole evening experience & haven’t stopped talking about.
This is an amazing dining experience. It is fun with another couple or a romantic evening. Chef Evan gives interesting explanations of each course and Host Shara is so helpful with wine selections! A very special night!

For a talented cook it would be hard to build a meal with so few meet, fish, cheese ingregients, for the guys at Stages it was impossible mission
This place is a ripoff
As always everything was outstanding but the highlights of the meal were the braised duck leg lacquered in its own juice followed by Emma’s cookies!
The food preparation and presentation was unique...and the flavors were scrumptious! Evan is a true genius and Shara is the perfect hostess/assistant!
Our second visit to Stages, two years apart and an amazing experience once again.
This is not your typical restaurant experience. It’s as if you’re invited to the home of a friend and you’re sitting around a table in his kitchen while he prepares something you’ve never heard of let alone tried before. Oh, and your friend happens to be a master chef and worked in two of the top fine dining restaurants in NYC (Per Se and Aureole).
There is no menu. It’s whatever Chef Evan happened to dream up along with whatever was available from his forages and his suppliers that day as well as what is in season. Each flight is memorable, impossible to describe and complex on a multitude of layers.
Our only wish is that Stages was closer to home!
Eating at this restaurant is an experience that everyone should enjoy. Evan is a brilliant chef. His awards are well deserved.
The Musée du Jeu de Paume near the Louvre in Paris used to house the world’s greatest collection of impressionist paintings. The colors and vivid images were so intense as to melt the usual boundaries of vision and activate a cascade of sensory experiences, leaving the brain wondering of the taste of love and hope and spirit. I remembered this feeling as we were invited into the kitchen studio, and then drawn in to the works of this extraordinary culinary artist. One’s eyes and nose and mouth are the ephemeral canvas for this artist’s unique creations. Let me write of one example, of many, to illustrate what I mean, “salt.” We are so used to salt in almost all savory dishes that it has become ordinary, expected, and only a component to accent. However, there was a dish at Stages, in which salt, became SALT! to me, a hero unto itself, in juxtaposition to sweet and sour and savory, and it was like, wow, I never fully appreciated SALT, because it had never been painted so uniquely, with such an artistic and sensitive portrait that it could become the crystal jewel of its own true heart. Of course we will return, and we recommend this food experience for those who appreciate culinary art.
A unique dining experience where the eight seats are right in the kitchen so you can watch the chef prepare all the food. There were a dozen or more small courses, most of which were out this world. All four of us agreed there were some flavors we had never tasted. Two of us did the wine paring, which was great, too. Expensive, but worth every penny.
