Stanford's - Kruse Way (Lake Oswego)
Romaine, house-made dressing, olive oil croutons, asiago cheese
Grilled Lemon Chive Salmon
Market fresh vegetables, lime Basmati rice, lemon cream
French Dip Sandwich
House-made au jus, horseradish, French fries
We went for the "date night" menu, and I had fisherman's stew for first course - really good! Then salmon with scallops and roasted vegetables for main course - fish was good, but brussels sprouts were charred too much and veggies generally oily. Dessert was molten chocolate cake with berries and whipped cream - very good! I hope they keep the salmon with scallops and roasted veggies on the menu, just not so charred.
Service and ambience was great, food was just ok. I had scallops & they were a bit mushy. My wife had fish & chips & the batter was soft on the inside like it was not quite fully done.
Reservations were easy online and the service was good! Food and drinks were delicious!! I recommend going to Stanford's!
Med steak came out raw. Second steak came out med rare at best and the manager said that is what there medium looks like, I don't think so. 2nd steak came out with mashed and not rice as the first plate. Manager said he could take the second steak back and cook it more, you know how that would taste, rested steak, cut in middle and flashed on the grill.
This was a new years eve dinner and I ended up not eating anything other than rice.
Very poor quality meat. Sent my filet mignon back 2x, eventually got prime rib. For the price, the quality needs to be better.
Definitely short staffed. I get that with COVID, but this was beyond ridiculous. The 3 greeters, I took note because of the three of them hovering over the computer screen, obviously didn't know how to use the table service software. Our poor server was managing several tables at various stages of dining. All servers were extremely professional. We were not in any hurry. We were a family of adults out to dine on New Year's Eve, but you must at least make sure your customers always have beverages. Menu was severely limited...maybe chef shortage too. I may eat there again, but it won't be for a very long time.
It was worse than I have ever been to with the food all the way down to the service and the manager just wanted to make excuses they need a total rehaul of that restaurant
Server was stretched with a lot of tables but understood being New Year’s Eve.
We ordered the fillet mignon and had to return it two times. First time it was completely cold. Second time it was totally raw and finally ended up with a well done version, even though I wanted medium rare, without the garlic butter and decided to not send it back again.
Really appreciate them being open on Christmas for dinner!
The food at Stanford's was very tasty and the value was good for the money spent. We were all very satisfied with the quantity and quality of our dinner and drinks. I would recommend Stanford's for a nice evening out.
Everyone in our party thought their food was good. Seated right away at a good sized table. Noise level was good. We could actually converse at a normal level. Price was a bit high.
We ate at Stanford’s for Christmas lunch. The food was good. Lots of choices. Service was just okay. We had to ask for several things a couple times. I was disappointed by the chocolate lava cake. There was no liquid chocolate on the inside. There was a berry mix on the side, which I assume was supposed to be the lava. Not what I expected. Should have been represented as chocolate cake with berry sauce.
Christmas Eve, limited menu which was subpar at best. Service was spotty. Forgot our drinks, forgot my salad; but entrees were hot and fairly tasty. I would recommend advertising a limited “holiday” menu on the website so people dining are prepared.
My daughters birthday. Menu was very limited. They didn’t even have hamburgers? I paid $30 for 4 small scallops which lacked flavor - had to add salt/pepper. Oil was really old so my families fish and chips gave them tummy aches. We won’t come back.
It was a very nice, much needed dining experience and time with great friends and food!
Food was excellent but the service was painfully slow.
Server was stretching between too many tables to be attentive. Otherwise all good.
Love the food
I love my local Stanford's - and last night was another 5 star. Chancellor, our server, was outstanding. We always appreciate the extra mile our servers go especially being short on staff. Food is always outstanding - and my sole was exceptional. This is the 3rd time I have been there in two weeks - just can't stay away. Always a wonderful experience.
It was pretty crowded and had 7 people. We had a smallish table. So maybe for people that have 5+ people, sit them at a table made for like 8 or 9. I'm a big girl and felt rather snug. Otherwise, I loved the food and the waiter was super friendly.
Delicious steak and all the trimmings! Fresh salad
Great! Service was a bit slow
Anniversary. We were comped the dessert. Good aged prime rib.
Everything was wonderful as always!! A group of 7 of us had lunch and drinks before hitting the stores for Black Friday! Alizabeth was attentive and Logan, the host , made sure everyone in our group found our table quickly. Most of the group had salads…. Lettuce was cold and crisp, chicken was temped perfectly. Could not have asked for a better kick off to the holidays.
The manager Matt also checked on us to make sure everything was up to par!!!
Thank you !!!
Salmon entree was very small- 2 bites each very small pieces-end of night maybe ? Our reservation was at 7:15
Turkey dinner all gone but was told 5 left- none for us
Prime rib was good- but very fatty and not much spices as I’ve had before-
Trio entree was delicious we had ordered 2
I wish I took pics but was so hungry waiting for our food - we ate fast
Service was ok, but we tried to understand extreme busy and had patience
205.00 bill - was not happy with food portions or the cooking of the prime rib
First time to Stanford’s - and the holiday dinner
Maybe I try it again -
Thank you for being open to serve the public on this holiday
We always find the food and service at Stanford’s to be excellent. Our last meal there was on Thanksgiving evening. It was our expectation to be crowded and running behind schedule. We were seated 20 later than the reservation in a very quiet section. The service was attentive.
Waitstaff was outstanding.
The food is always very good. And Thanksgiving was excellent.
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner at Stanfords. It had been a long time since we had been there. However I have not received my points for booking with OpenTable.
We booked for 6pm got seated at 6:35.
We all ordered the turkey dinner. It was disgusting. The turkey was all fatty brown meat, full of grissle.
The stuffing was sticky like rice and something was left out, because it tasted bad, plus it was cold.
There was no social distancing and not enough people to handle the crowd.
It was all wonderful. Our server was amazing. I can’t believe how busy you all were and still the food and service was excellent. Thank you!
We come here frequently, the food is good, the service is great, the atmosphere is comfortable and classy. This experience was not as good as expected. We had reservations, and arrived on time, but they were backed up in the lobby, and at first they couldn't find our reservation until another person came along and helped, but we still had to wait. There was seating in the bar, so we just went in there and grabbed a table. So, our reservation really didn't matter. Their menu was limited, featuring the thanksgiving meal. There were 3 of us and we each order something different. Our food came real fast, maybe too fast. All of our dinners were warm, but not hot. They all seemed to have been pre-prepared. The food was ok but nothing special. They were very busy, wait staff seemed frazzled, the bartender was working madly, i think she was there alone. I think they could have done a better job of managing the crowd, booked fewer reservations. The lobby was full of people waiting the entire time we were there. I find it very frustrating to book a reservation and then be expected to wait 5, 10, 15 minutes for my table. And then to be served sub par food because they are so busy. I am marking that I would still recommend this place to a friend, because I know how pleasant and enjoyable it can be. I hope this experience is not the new norm.
We were seated at a very small 2 top with small chairs next to foot traffic intersection and so asked to be moved to a booth. The vegetable listed on the menu with filet mignon was asparagus. I was served green beans and when I questioned, I was told that they had no asparagus.
Always a pleasure at Stanford's Lake Oswego! Wonderful, service, and seating. Every holiday meal is perfect here.
I ordered the grilled seafood trio. It didn't have all the ingredients as listed on the menu. The salmon was fishy. Two people at our table ordered it and said the same. Also, I can't believe they charge for bread. Not even decent bread. It looked like grilled white bread.
We hadn’t dined at Stanford’s for quite some time - we found it just as clean with better lighting, great beer selection, excellent mixed drinks as well as an awesome menu selection. The food came perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed the professional service. Thank you for a great dining experience!
My experience here was great. I'm not a fancy person by any means but this was wonderful. The lighting was low and voices were quiet. The pricing wasn't bad for it being a fancy place. Food was experience. Would recommend. Thebprlrime rib was fantastic and their Mac n cheese was to die for.
