Fabulous food, excellent service as always. Our go to restaurant whether it’s Sunday lunch, cocktails or dinner. We always recommend guests staying at The Morpeth Apartment to dine at The Townhouse and they like us, love the food and service.

We both enjoyed the Fixed Price menu, and the food was delicious, as always. It's a pleasure guessing some of the flavours, especially in the Starters. Piped music was played later in the evening, when the restaurant was quite noisy. This just seemed to cause some large groups to talk more loudly across their tables. Not ideal.

The restaurant is striking in its aesthetic, with historic features and magnetic ambiance. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The food (I shared a fish platter from the set menu and had the pigeon pithivier and triple cooked chips from the a la carte) was outstanding. We had the wine pairing too and I can’t recommend enough the intelligent choices made by our server. The entire experience was exceptional from start to end. This restaurant serves the most delicious fresh food. From the understated outside you just cannot imagine what a culinary treat you are in for! We had the sea bass cooked in a clay oven and it was perfection, not to mention the potatoes And the hummus which easily rivals the hummus I have eaten in the Middle East. The staff are warm and lovely, the ambience is great and we will most certainly be back next time we are in Newcastle. I really recommend this place.
