Sushiko - Chevy Chase
Excellent sushi and service . Ate outside . Very pleasant .
Wonderful sashimi, as always. The Hokkaido Uni was especially super. We also loved the the rock shrimp tempura and the broiled lobster. Marta is a super server.
Over the past few years, there has been a terribly sad decline of a once wonderful restaurant. I hope it can recover.
Omakase it was so ordinary that it was disappointing; and certainly overpriced for what it was. Next time I want a unique experience, I will go somewhere else.
excellent food, including dessert. Order the salmon or chicken teriyaki.
Fantastic place, a little hard to find but worth it in the end. Portions are large so do not overorder
Nice menu selection with good service. The ambiance is a little strip mall like but overall it has very good food and service.
Friendly hostess, friendly and informed wait staff, great food. The Element roll is fantastic! A favorite for us.
Sushiko is wonderful -- raw fish (e.g., sashimi) and cooked dishes as well. Our favorites are the rock shrimp tempura, the soft crab kara age, and the broiled branzino. The desserts are spectacular as well, especially the passion fruit concoction.
Consistently great food, server was very knowledgeable
Good food, fast and good service (we were a little pressed for time and were in&out in 45 minutes).
We had the restaurant week tasting menu and nothing disappointed. The seaweed salad and fried eggplants were particularly tasty.
Staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the food.
Service and food were exceptional!
Food is spectacular. The chocolate martini for dessert is a must
Thank you to the whole staff; terrific!
A special thanks to Paloma!
Has been consistently great for years!
My sister and I had a great Restaurant Week dinner at Sushiko. We were celebrating her birthday, and the wonderful server brought a surprise complimentary dessert of fried-ish bananas and cinnamon-y ice cream. The service was fantastic and the food excellent. Between the two of us, we ordered all options on the Restaurant Week menu; all were tasty but the standouts were the sashimi, the grilled salmon, and the age-dashi. The green tea cream (plus the surprise birthday dessert) were a perfect close to a delicious meal, and experience!
Went to take advantage of restaurant week bc week like to sample new restaurants this way. It did not disappoint. Appetizers of seaweed salad and miso soup were spot on and a good start after priming our appetites with edamame. Service was good; busperson was very attentive to clearing plates as needed. Noise level made it a little difficult to communicate with our waiter but all was well. The second course of chef's selection sashimi resulted in three pairs of nicely presented tuna, salmon and yellowtail. All extremely fresh and superbly cut. The third course was chef's choice nigiri with your choice of a roll. I chose the spicy tuna which was again very good. There were six pieces of fish atop rice base along with 8 pieces of the tuna roll. Very filling and again well presented and prepared. The spicy sauce wasn't overpowering but nicely spread throughout your mouth subtlety reminding you of the presence of the heat which complimented the fish and rice. There's a nice wine selection though it appeared pricey and a good selection of cocktails which other diners seemed to enjoy. We'd definitely return. Reservations might be in order as it was almost a full house between 630 and 7pm. Outdoor seating is available.
Restaurant Week lunch was unimpressive.
Overall a pleasant experience with serene ambiance. Seaweed salad & tuna sashimi were outstanding while the maki roll was average. Chicken yakitori taste was boring & forgettable.
Wonderful food, the sushi was fresh and delicious!
We've been to Sushiko many times, but tonight the food was particularly fresh and tasty!
The sashimi was some of the best I've ever had. The pork rib was sublime. And the service was excellent too. When we couldn't decide which sake to get, we were given small tastes of our top contenders.
Our fifth time there.... 3rd time enjoying the tasting menu. Always amazing. A special occasion restaurant, and one of our top 5 favorites!
Our favorite MD/DC sushi and Japanese restaurant!
Innovative dishes, spectacular rolls. Our waiter was very helpful and made good recommendations.
Great lunch at Sushiko in Friendship Heights. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area surrounded by planters. The occasional delivery truck going through the parking lot was a bit of a distraction in terms of noise. Top notch sushi and good service.
Freshest sushi around. Traditional fare. Excellent
Really great food. Best sushi in the area!
Sat outside so mostly a bit of noise came from buses (smell at one point, too) sometimes stopping by the grocery store nearby, otherwise a very tranquil experience for conversation purposes. Some light music would have been nice, but not mandatory. The service was really great, food was excellent. Definitely a place I will return to in the future! Great drink selection as well.
The tasting menu was fantastic and our drinks were delicious. Would absolutely suggest it!
Always reliably good! Special Thank you to the staff for being so considerate of the elderly person at our table. We appreciate your assistance with seating and access
Birthday dinner was absolutely perfect 😊😊😊😊
For a high end sushi place I was looking for more interesting rolls as well as gluten free options.
Fabulous food and fabulous service!!! Our waitress was very attentive and efficient.
Sushiko is no ordinary Sushi Bar. Food is consistently fantastic and unique. Their tasting menu never disappoints, and makes the ordering easy, as very often there are too many choices at sushi restaurants.
Sushiko is truly a special occasion restaurant - one we will return to over and over.
Best and freshest sushi in Washington, D.C. in my opinion. Expensive too but you get what you pay for
Excellent as usual.
