Unfortunately tonight wasn’t the night for Sushi Rock. We had reservations, and even arrived a little early before our reservations to check in. It took us about 20-25 mins of waiting after our reservation had started to be seated at a table. There were easily another 6-10 groups waiting after us to be seated and about 10-15 people in line for take out. Once seated we ordered within 10-15 mins since we realized it was busy. It took over an hour and 15 minutes to get our sushi. Then when we got it, our spicy salmon roll wasn’t spicy to which we were told they just needed to bring sauce. That took another 15+ minutes to get at which time we tried the not spicy salmon roll and it was tough and chewy. Our server advised the kitchen was so behind he suggested we not bother to send it back to have a new one made so we didn’t. Overall the sushi wasn’t great, service poor, and the wait time was totally unacceptable.
We weren’t the only ones frustrated, the table next to us walked out on their check. Sad to say tonight was a major disappointment at Sushi Rock.
Probably wouldn’t go back. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was mediocre. I understand the vision, but it’s poorly executed.
Good food, good atmosphere, good music, good company.
Highly recommend to celebrate birthdays! I’ve come here for birthdays with friends for the past 3 years as the waiters always bring out such a cute happy birthday dessert plate with a lit candle - free of charge!
Food was amazing and prices were fair. I definitely recommend and would definitely go back!
Great food and great service! Staff was so friendly and helpful in making recommendations. Would go back again!
The food was fine but lots of mixups with service from the time we walked in until we left. No one came to serve us for nearly 20 mins. We called someone over just to place an order and she didn’t even get that right. Our actual server was very nice and doubled back to make sure orders were right and water was served. The place is pretty but priced for the area, not the food.
Food was mediocre to okay, service was slow and mediocre, and my seat and placemat were covered in crumbs when I sat down. After my waitress disappeared, I had to get up and ask the hostess to bring my bill. The decor is cute, and the rotating drink specials are nice, but it doesn’t make up for an otherwise mediocre experience.
Sushi rock has some of the best Sushi in Arlington, and there is a whole variety for everyone. Price is moderate, but expected for the area. Good amount of happy hour deals and discounts. Staff is regular and prompt.
Came here with a friend for dinner. PSA happy hour is only at the bar, not the table. Sushi was pretty good, and the fried rice was good as well. Not the best sushi in DC, but definitely good.
Great food and service. It gets a little loud but I will definitely come back!!
Great food! Loud, could use something to dull the noise
Food was good and service was excellent. But we were there during Arlington’s water shutdown. We were anxious about the ice and tap water. The restaurant assured us they had filtered water but the county was saying filtration was not enough, that water had to be boiled. Fortunately we did not become ill, but the restaurant took a great gamble with diners’ health.
Great food, drinks and service. What else can you ask for? One of my go-to spots
We love sushi rock. It’s our favorite weeknight spot.
Excellent service and sushi! Long time customer 😊
Loud, and not a fan of the kitschy Halloween decor, way too nice and expensive a place for the fake cobwebs. The food though is always excellent, with great service. It is a bit loud, but that’s true nearly everywhere in Arlington on a Friday night. Overall it’s a great restaurant, one that I will continue to visit.
We had a great meal. Everything was perfect. Service was excellent. I’m very happy and my family loved it.
Excellent service, food , ambiance and service verall a fantastic experience
Slow service (we’ve been here a few times and this seems to be a recurring issue). Happy hour deals are great though.
Hit and miss. Overall good food, nice staff and good atmosphere. Server forgot items, and disappeared for 10 minutes at a time. But made it up with an unexpected free dessert for the kids!
The Sushi Dinner was fantastic!
Love this place
The pork belly buns here were some of the best buns I’ve ever tasted and I’ve had lots of buns y’all!
Try the Volcano Roll and the You Shook Me All Night Long Roll but I believe you can’t go wrong with many of their specialty rolls here.
Their cocktails were really good too!
Really nice environment with the option of outside seating, which means that this place is dog friendly!
Price is a little bit high. They use iPads to pay for the bill so they do prompt you for the tip being no lower than 18%. The waitress definitely was attentive and would come back to check how we were doing and replenished our waters multiple times. I believe they still should allow to leave a custom amount for a tip.
This place left me with a good impression to want to come back
Underwhelmed by run-of-the-mill food and ambiance. Second time there in two months; won't be high on the list of places to go for a drink or food.
Sushi rock is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We love that we can bring our dog, and the food and drinks are always on par. Thanks for making accommodations to make my girlfriends birthday memorable
Service was slow food was cold
It was a pleasant surprise. Great food and service. Little louder than I thought it would be.
We enjoyed specialty sushi rolls, tempura, edamame and nigiri. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The place itself feels in need of a freshening up, including the organization of host and wait staff. There was an abundance of people around yet there also seemed to be confusion with seating, uneven delivery of entrees to the table (3 of us were almost done before the fourth arrived) and other service glitches. It's not enough to keep us away but we'll home things are ironed out next time we go.
Second time at Sushi Rock and had a delicious dinner. Attentive service, good food and affordable prices. Will definitely continue going back
I loved the whole vibe of sushi rock! Such a young modern sushi restaurant. A lot of sushi restaurants I’ve been to have such a small quiet feel but not this place! I loved all of their rolls and the bulgogi beef sliders were so good! Took a while for our server to greet us, but overall a great experience and I’ll be back!
Good outdoor patio
The food here is absolutely amazing. The fish is fresh and the rolls are unique and excellent. There’s a really fun vibe to the restaurant with good music. The service however was absolutely awful. We went on a Sunday night and it definitely was not crowded. Everything took an abnormally long time to come out. I had to ask for one of our appetizers 3 times and it didn’t make it to the table until we had finished our main rolls. On top of that, our waiter seemed to be avoiding us the entire time. I tried to wave him down and he walked away. We sat at the table for 15 minutes with our empty plates waiting for them to be cleared. Eventually I had to go up to the hostess (who was very rude) and ask for someone to bus our table and bring the check bc we physically couldn’t wait any longer. Overall, amazing food, some of the worst service I’ve ever received.
The hostesses were very rude. Booked through Open Table and had to sit at the bar to get happy hour specials which was fine however they mocked and laughed at my group because we wanted the happy hour specials. Then proceeded to say I was a no show to open table after I spent $100. The bartender was nice and the food was good however the customer service will ensure I do not return.
some of the best sushi in Arlington! great outdoor seating too
Great place. Good vibe. Food tasted great and was fresh.
Great food, good atmosphere and half price bottles of wine!
Good food, slightly expensive. Service is just okay; but the problem observed after eating here a couple times is that the kitchen is very slow. There might not be enough people making rolls for a restaurant that’s quite frequently busy.
We really enjoyed the meal and the friendly staff.
