this is a very good India restaurant and I do enjoy the night, maybe they have too much take a way and we were waiting for a long after starter before the main dishes.

Great food

Service and starter was great, however main course was not so great. Both main meat dishes didn’t taste nice, one tasted like tomato soup, the other like a watered down chicken stew with no depth of flavour at all.
Rice however was really nice.
I definitely wouldn’t eat there again

Relaxed, felt Covid-safe. Food very good, good value. Reasonably priced wine.

First meal out since lockdown and in new town since moving and it was really enjoyable. Great food, brilliant service and staff and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be a regular place for us going forward.

Excellent local Indian restaurant, we’ve been going for years and the food and service is consistently very good.

Delicious food and lovely service

As ever the food was wonderful & can't fault. However for the first time we were all very disappointed with the service - the waiter mumbled & was rather unfriendly, plus we had to chase a missing dish. The noise & volumn was also very loud, making it very difficult to have a conversation.

Swagat remains an outstanding quality curry house, so consistent over the years and very much worth a visit.

We decided to visit the restaurant after seeing Gordon Ramsay's photo with the chef in the window but I'm afaid we doubt he would have been impressed by our experience tonight. It took over half an hour to bring out two glasses of wine. The food was fine at best. Didn't listen to a request to make the curry mild. Can't say we will be in a hurry to visit again.

Sunday night and a bit quiet, and turfed out at 21:30, but the food very good as usual!

Best Indian food for miles around Richmond, Surrey.

Was recommended to me but disappointing. veg jalfreezie was awful. Chicken makhani was horrendous and the rest was just average. Miserable service and far too rushed.

Swagat is always great you get authentic Indian food with a smaller menu than the usual massive list of
familiar dishes his use of spices and flavours is fantastic and all ingredients are of high quality.

Yes would love to recommend food really tasty - will be back again.

Great experience and food, as always!

We live in North Yorkshire and ensure that we visit Swagat every time we travel to London. The menu is not extensive but sufficiently varied to satisfy all tastes. quality of the dishes provided remains outstanding. The service is friendly and efficient. It is noted that persons just passing by and entering the restaurant with an intention of finding a table- without a reservation- are unlikely to find a vacant table.
The restaurant is not large but sound proofing the walls would be beneficial ( if practical).
We look forward to our next opportunity to continue the journey with Swagat.

Very good traditional Indian food

Really fun again, don't need to go elsewhere for a good night out.

Great service and delicious food, would recommend to anyone in the vicinity in search of Indian food!

We will be back had a lovely meal, very tasty and catered for our allergies.

Came with a party of 6 for my daughters birthday, as usual fabulous food and good service and the bill was very reasonable .

The food at Swagat is consistently excellent. I just wish the service was a little faster - we waited an hour for our food

Really great dinner with friends will now be my go to Indian. Only reason I gave 4 stars for food was because I would prefer spicer (hot) food but I know this is something that's different for everyone. The good was still delicious!

Food was excellent and I have ate there many times before and not been let down. On this occasion one of our party suffered an unwanted reaction to the food. Pity as others had lamb as well without any problems.

We went Sunday evening after England international.
Food good and came quickly but service a bit variable as they had a big group in.
Been several times and will go again. Not your usual Indian fare.

We used to love this restaurant (despite the lighting). The food used to be fantastic, different to a regular Indian restaurant and worth the higher price. Unfortunately, this occasion and the previous has confirmed a change in the standard of food. I once again had my usual dish of Handi Gosht, which used to be spectacular and individual, but now appears to just be an innocuous tomato-based curry with some mint thrown in. The side of sag aloo for £5.99 was just a little bigger than an egg cup. The food wasn’t awful and we had a nice evening, but felt short-changed.

A very tasty range of dishes, very well presented . The Indian ice cream is worth trying. We have been here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. This time we took our son along and he loved it too, Excellent as always!

Swaget has become an annual event for a group of us that now live all around the country but regularly meet to watch Wasps play Harlequins. The restaurant is generally busy but the staff always make you feel welcome and special. The food is excellent and if you want something that is not on the menu you only have to ask.

Swagat always provides something interesting on the "specials" menu which changes regularly as well as the "normal" menu where the usual favourites are raised to a new level.

I have visited this restaurant several times now and would certainly recommend. The food is a very good quality, add in a great bottle of wine and a pleasent attmosphere and it's a perfect for me.

We regularly eat here and decided to bring family to enjoy it too. Everyone's meal was delicious, we all shared! The portions are generous and we all left freely stuffed! Thanks, we'll be back!

Starters were amazing (photo attached), flavoursome and good size portions. Mains were good, tasty, although I like a bit more spice. It was busy, so it was quite loud but we didn't mind. Service was relatively good, although we did have to remind them about our water and dessert. Got to speak to the chef towards the end of the evening. He was very accommodating and chatted to us for a good 5 mins. All in all, a lovely evening. Would definitely recommend.
