t at The General Store
Our first time there! We loved it!
I can't wait to go back. Our dinner was so yummy, starting with the oysters and ending with the butterscotch pudding, and everything in between.
Excellent restaurant between the beautiful room, the attentive service and the fantastic food. It's one of the reasons why we continue to visit the Easton area over and over again.
We have eaten in Easton and St Michels for years. Our first visit t at the General Store. We had reservations at 7:00 and we were seated at one of the two window tables. My wife ordered shrimp and grits that was probably one of our best. I ordered pork loin with baby red beets , mashed sweet potatoes, anD a sautéed leafy green vegetable. My meal was also outstanding. We will return.
Food is superb and a great value, but the restaurant always seems a little understaffed. And the really need a professionally playlist rather than someone’s favs from 80’s, 90’s etc
Food as always wonderful . The new service staff was not up to your usual standard unfortunately in my pov . Maybe more at home in a pub setting rather than your lovely place?
Food and server were great, but it took an hour from ordering to get our meal...only 6 tables occupied.
We would highly recommend dining here! Food is fabulous, wine list great, service attentive without being intrusive. We dined leisurely and weren’t rushed. Everyone in our party of four spoke about our experience again the next day saying how much we all enjoyed the evening.
Lovely meal. Steak was perfect and the shrimp and grits excellent. Nice servers. Very pleasant experience.
We ate early so it was not crowded, and therefore quite peaceful and relaxed. The pasta of the day is undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted anywhere. It was half-price wine night so we enjoyed a nice bottle to compliment our dinner. The service was superb but not bothersome and we felt no need to hurry. We will certainly return, and bring friends the next visit.
This was our second time to visit t at the General Store, and we'd come back more often if we lived less than 2 hours away. Their food choices offer new twists on old favorites, and they are truly delicious. Its out-of-the-way location makes it easy to overlook, but it well worth looking out for!
Very enjoyable dinner with another couple on a reasonably busy Saturday night. Between the four of us we had roast chicken, crab cakes, and short ribs. Everyone was delighted with their entrée. The gazpacho was a particular hit. Service was friendly and prompt. Highly recommend this spot.
This place is a wonderful local gem. The food is consistently excellent. The servers are super friendly. I look forward to sharing the experience with family and friends every time I go. The cream of crab soup is heavenly!
Great meal. Love that they serve Scottish Highland Creamery ice cream!
Hidden gem - delicious unfussy food prepared expertly, and with delightful service. Most chefs in this area know their way around fish (and well they should) but the salmon was probably the most perfectly cooked piece of fish we'd ever seen. Beautiful char, perfect flake, tender & moist even though the filet itself was lean. I've paid way more for far inferior fish. Lovely gazpacho with a nice kick of heat. BLT was well balanced. We live about an hour away but will definitely make it a point to come back!
Delicious from beginning to end. Great service.
We visited early on a weeknight, so I'm sure that is why there was only one server. However this didn't detract from our experience. Two of our guests had the pasta special, which was shrimp and fresh veggies on bow-tie pasta, and they really enjoyed it. Another guest had the tuna starter which was beautifully cooked and served. The final entrée was the bison short ribs. The accompanying rice was average but the green beans had a wonderful peppery kick to them.
The exterior old general store look certainly belies the attractive modern interior - a totally open room with a bar on one side. I imagine this can get noisy on a busy weekend night, but we didn't have that problem.
This restaurant certainly deserves a return visit!
First time back in quite a while. A quiet weeknight dinner, enjoyable and we will return.
Superb! Everything was fresh and presented beautifully. I kept saying the dishes looked like art. Exceptional flavors...the blueberry bread pudding is a must..i'm still not over it! My new favorite restaurant in St Michaels....no i mean, anywhere.
Always a fabulous place to eat. Great food and ambiance and the wait staff is phenomenal! This is one of our most favorite places to dine.
Outstanding on all fronts! Shrimp and grits as good as any in New Orleans and vegetables perfectly cooked. Desserts were equally grand.
Lovely brunch - great food from local farms and worked with our gluten free requests. The Bloody Mary was a meal in itself!
Really delicious food and drink. Best bread pudding ever. Our waitress was very helpful. Don't let the outside fool you - very lovely and comfortable inside. Would highly recommend
The outside of the building might make you think twice about going in, but inside is modern, sleek, and immaculately clean. The food was fresh and delicious. It became quite noisy while we were there because there was a private party assembling in the back half of the restaurant, but I would think normally noise would probably not be a major factor. Service was impeccable.
We've been here several times since they opened and have never had a bad meal. the menu changes , but the pork chop has always been good. We usually go on a week night for their wine and dinner special deals, but this time we went on a Saturday and our only complaint was the noise. We always recommend this place when asked where to go for good food at reasonable prices.
A bit noisy Friday night. Good food, slow service. A fun, informal, good restaurant
We love T. Their menu is small but executed to perfection with fresh, seasonal flavors. The meal is always well paced and service is attentive but not overbearing. The off-the-beaten path location means an enjoyable dinner in what feels like your own dining room.
What a great place! Not only is the food and service superb, but everyone there seems to be having a good time. The comfortable atmosphere lends itself to any vibe you’re feeling that evening...date night, family dinner or food and drinks with friends. I know a lot of people mention it, but I especially love the bread pudding...yum yum!
Our first visit to the General Store and we loved our visit! Food was first rate and the staff extremely friendly!
The food was outstanding. Hard to criticize anything we ate. The decor is somewhat bland - they need an interior decorator but that’s about my only complaint.
We have been to this restaurant several times and the food has always been great. This past Saturday, I had the tuna appetizer (delicious) and the salmon entrée (also delicious). My husband had the special pasta of the day and he was still talking about how good it was the following day. Prices are reasonable and they try to locally source as much as they can.
We have not yet been for brunch - which I understand is great - so we will try that next!
We always like to dine at T when we stay in Royal Oak, as we do every year. The food is always great and unusual. The pork belly was awesome.
Delicious brunch menu, local ingredients, and homey atmosphere. Our server, Melissa, is supremely efficient at serving all of her tables, while making everyone feel special. One of the best, if not the best restaurant on the Eastern Shore.
Best ahi tuna appetizer and wedge salad around--and also the best option on summer weekends to avoid the madness in St Michaels.
Can’t help loving this place. I’m so happy the crab cakes and succotash are back...sweet local lump crab meat and delicious local corn and vegetables. If you have room for dessert, try the peach and strawberry bread pudding. Fantastic yet again.
Amazing food in a very relaxed setting ! Fun crowd.
We absolutely loved our dining experience at t at the General Store! The ambiance was friendly and inviting. The decor and artwork was eclectic. The staff was courteous and professional. The food and cocktails were exceptional. The gazpacho with lump crab was intense and fresh, the shrimp and ravioli was divine, and the lamb shank with veggies was superb. We will definitely be returning for another great meal.
What a disappointing experience. We’ve been here several times before but probably not again. The service was slow to say the least but the real nail in the coffin was that the food wasn’t even good when it finally arrived. Shrimp were undercooked, grits were tasteless, a perfectly good hangar steak was covered in a sweet and unpleasant gravy sauce. All in all not a good evening.
This is a nice comfortable restaurant and I always look forward to eating at the T. We were a party of four and most of us enjoyed our meal. We all had soup and all agreed it was excellent -- three had the cream of crab and one chose the vegetable soup. For our entrees, two had the Organic Greens Caesar w/Salmon salad which we both liked and would order again. The salmon was very good and a great addition to the salad. The combination of the soup and this salad makes for a perfect meal. The third person had the Pasta du Jour -- pesto ravioli with crawfish -- and expressed much satisfaction with his choice. The fourth person ordered the Bavette Steak with broccoli and potatoes (roasted I think) -- he enjoyed the steak but not the broccoli or potatoes. In his words, the broccoli tasted old, not fresh, and the potatoes were tasteless. He doesn't want to return anytime soon. And, unfortunately, the brownie for dessert was quite dry.
It's always a pleasure to dine at the T at the General Store when we are in the Oxford - St. Michaels area.
