This is the first time EVER (and I’m in my fifties and used to eat sashimi almost daily) in which I order a sashimi special (18 pieces at Taki) and 6 (that’s 1/3) of the pieces were imitation crab meat. Since when did imitation crab meat become sashimi??? Very disappointing to see how a restaurant cheats their patrons thinking we don’t know better.
The service was TERRIBLE!! We asked for glasses and they brought us styrofoam cups. Before we took one bite of our food they were bringing us the check
Delicious food, great hibachi show and awesome table service! Everyone is so personable and willing to go the extra mile. Our chef was awesome and kept the table entertained the entire time. He was very very engaging and we had an amazing dinner service! But words of advice: Call ahead for reservations if you're considering hibachi. The reservation list fills up super fast and if you haven't already reserved by 6 pm Friday and Saturday, you may not be able to do the hibachi!!! And even with reservations, the wait can be long. We reserved for 8pm and didn't get seated until 9pm. But they still having table seating available. However, the hibachi is the way to go!!!!
Food was amazing!!! Will definitely be back! Chef was engaging and energetic!
This was my first time dining here. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. They do a great job helping one another out. Generous portions as well.
Bathrooms were filthy, grease was dripping from the vent hood, floors were sticky. Overall, it felt dirty. Food was ok.
Taki is amazing, the food the setting is great. I would recommend this place to anyone
Yummy! And the service was great. Loved our chef and the waiter was also excellent.
The staff were welcoming and very accommodating, the chefs were very entertaining. I tried sushi and calamari for first time and what a change in perspective!
We just left the restaurant and will probably not go back there!
Terrible service, super over packed, long wait times. Why suffer?
It’s been a pleasure for many years. Not anymore...
It was horrible!! We had a reservation at 7. They overbook ( 2nd time we visited recently). We were sat at 8:15. The experience was rushed and not good. The food is just ok and you feel sick afterwards. We asked to speak to the manager and he/she never came. No apologies were given. The front hostess staff were awful.
Had a reservation, got there 10 minutes early and still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Took another 15 to get drinks and another 15 for the chef. I've been here multiple times and this was my worst experience.
worst dining experience in recent memory. service was horrible, took over 40 minutes to get drinks once we were seated. use to be a great place, maybe they have new ownership or something. food was ok. too many good places to eat in ATL with great food and service, i won't be going back there.
We waited a hr for our reservation. I think the hostess may have even forgotten abt us. The server forgot our drinks on two diff occasions, for the 1 order we placed. The chef was great. Food was ok. I understand that covid is probably the biggest issue for a lot of our issues, but being a chef in the industry I'm always understanding if things that can cause this type of experience. Overall we had a decent time. We will try again.
It doesn’t really matter if you have a reservation. It was still a 20 minute wait for hibachi that we reserved.
Food was not very good.
The only 5 star I gave was for the food in terms of the actual hibachi food we ate and that was all because of CHEF NINOS wonderful and amazing talent people skills and chef skills. Because of him we enjoyed ourselves.
The 2s and 3s were for a multiple reasons.
One, It took forever to get our drinks probably about 20-25 mins.
Two, waitress barely came around - had to ask another waitress at the other table to get some something when we needed it. Waitress seemed annoyed and like she didn’t want to be there.
Three, they took the tofu off the menu and that’s what my son likes. They used to have it but don’t anymore. They have it in their miso soup and weren’t able to accommodate that in terms of using that tofu to make him a dish. He is 5 years old and a vegetarian
Apart from CHEF NINO who was amazing and awesome, everything else was below average from what I am used to expecting.
Please use this as a learning and growth review.
Thank you
Another reason was
The food was really good. However, the cook lacked any personality for a hibachi restaurant and seemed to not want to be there. We had reservations it took us a while to be seated and we had to ask for silverware. I would go back with an order to go because the food is good but not to dine in ever. I don't want to be treated as if I am a bother.
Average at best. Not much of a show.
No social distancing, packed in people, seemed dirty, staff unorganized, service was terrible
Had to wait a while for our gluten free food to get prepared.
The wait was not long. The service and food were good.
It’s time to close for a month, clean and paint. Throw away the the 1980’s decor, and think about whether all of your employees are giving the kind of experience you want your guests to have. So little care, that the menus has dirt and stickiness to them in the midst of a pandemic. I want every business to succeed, every business that cares about its customers. And it is super evident that this restaurant is coasting, and probably will close within a short while. And that’s a shame, because hibachi can be a really fun experience at a place that actually cares at all.
I joined the table a few minutes late. The chef had already cooked the vegetables and did not add any when I joined. I felt shorted!! Also, I had to ask for my rice!!
Awesome place
We made a reservation and specified that we’d like hibachi. It asks you to do so. Yet when we arrived they told us it would be 30 minutes for hibachi but we could get a table right away. Seems like there’s no point in making a reservation especially since we didn’t actually get seated for over an hour. The hostess wasn’t very helpful in estimating a possible seating time so we wouldn’t have to sit in the waiting area with so many other people. Then when we were seated we were told my boyfriends food would be made in the back due to his shellfish allergy. We go to hibachi all the time at various places and they typically cook his meat first on the grill. It tastes different, is a smaller portion, and isn’t as fresh coming from the back, not to mention we could have eaten an hour ago had we known. While his allergy is severe so we appreciate the caution, we’ve never experienced that so we could not plan accordingly.
We love hibachi...but Taki’s takes our experience to a whole ‘nother level! There was way too much food for us to eat and way too much to eat the next day! The value was unmatched and atmosphere amazing! Food was so good I forgot to take pics!
Great value for the price. Food was good and service was even better
Overall great experience. Food was outstanding. Service was outstanding. The only downside: our reservation (for 2) was made for 7:30, we didn't get sat until 8:20PM. The restaurant is doing their best to adhere to social distancing protocols, which is respectable. Would recommend changing the reservation system to accommodate those seating challenges/timing issues.
This was a tough one… The owner/manager seemed to really care about the guests in the restaurant and the SUSHI WAS AWESOME ! It was seriously the best yellowtail I’ve had in ages… Unfortunately, the crowd was a bit unexpected and we felt out of place. Also, the bartender gave zero flips about whether or not anyone had cocktails and she was more interested in chatting to her buddies around the register. I finally started watching the clock and literally was in the restaurant for 30 minutes before I got a cocktail… It’s a shame because I probably would have had to in that. And the restaurant seems like they could use the extra business. We eventually sat at the sushi bar so our back could be to the randomness of the restaurant as we were hoping for something a bit more quiet. The lights were very bright and the restaurant felt more like a diner even on a Saturday night. It was all we could do to get the waitress to come by and we definitely would have ate and drank more if we could have gotten her. She also seemed extremely unknowledgeable about the menu. I’m not even a snob so I don’t mean to sound judge mental but she was really slow and didn’t care at all. It is a shame though because the food really really was good! I would actually recommend this to people who are picky about sushi… I went back and got a to go order the next time and the restaurant seemed pretty much exactly the same as it was during our experience. I really hope the management can find a way to make it a bit more of a date night destination because we would go more often. There was literally a huge guy on the porch smoking a joint when we walked out. I’m not a prude but that was pushing it even for me…
Taki is one of the best Hibachi places in Atlanta. The food and the service is fabulous!
Unfortunately, we did not get to eat there. We asked for the Hibachi and got there early for our reservation. There was a party of 7 there (we had a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids), that had been waiting for 15 minutes. When we got there the gentleman took us back to the hibachi table and wanted all of us to sit down at the same table. The father in the party of 7 got upset, he said we're going to be all over each other (the hibachi table is small). We AGREED with the father, we did not want to be so close to each. The man that worked there said well, the party of 4 will have to wait 30 minutes. There was an empty table behind that one, we asked if we could wait there, he rudely said no that we would have to go back to the front. We left. The floors looked dirty and the place could really polish up.
Mom 60th bday dinner. It went well.
Great food! Good Chef! Found my go-to hibachi restaurant!
Server didn’t know a lot of things I asked her about the menu. She didn’t even know what soy bean paper was when I asked her. She asked what seemed to be a manager a few questions and when he came to the table, although he was helpful was a bit short with me. I added eel to both of my rolls and both of them were made without. My overall service was quite poor but the food was delicious nonetheless.
We were seated quickly and accommodated wonderfully. Great experience and food! Will definitely dine again
Went for NYE. Disappointed we had to wait for 40 minutes to be seated when we had a reservation. But the food was really good. The chef was very entertaining. It turned out to be a good night
Daughters birthday
Normally I love this place but this time the Kitchen was slow, we had one person with a food allergy and his food came after we paid the check.
The restaurant was freezing so we ended up ordering takeout at the bar. Drinks were subpar. Bartender did not know how to make an old fashion.
