Terrace Room at the Williamsburg Inn

Truly a local treasure. Food and service exceptional.
Service was amazing! Food was beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful! Rockefeller Manhattan is a must. Chocolate Pave cake was awesome!
This is an elegant yet approachable spot for lunch. The setting is so beautiful and attention from staff excellent and yet you can get a tasty sandwich and homemade sides for under $20.
Excellent venue for the NYE celebration. Stephan was informative and accommodating. Wine pairings were delivered on time and on point.
Our waitress was excellent. Helpful but not bothersome. The wine pairings were horrible. The appetizers and desserts were ok but not great. The short rib entree was awesome. Overall, the experience was less than what I expected from the Inn. More just medeocre
Nice spot for dinner. Service and ambiance excellent. Food very good. Prices fair to slightly high.
Stephan is an excellent waiter
who really knows how to provide quality customer service. The food was delicious and the environment was pleasant! Overall, it was a great experience and we do plan on returning!
The food is good the cocktails excellent and the sticky toffee pudding heavenly.
Our dinner at the Terrace Room was excellent. The food was delicious - try the Beef Stroganoff, it is very rich but, absolutely delicious. The burger was perfectly cooked and and very juicy. The desserts for this particular night were a grits pudding, which my husband thought was outstanding, and dark chocolate dipped almond bark, which melted in my mouth. Finally, if you are a bourbon drinker, you must try the Rockefeller Manhattan as it is absolutely delicious. Ryan was our server and he provided top of the line service. It was also very nice to meet Michael, the manager, who made his way around the room greeting all of the guests. It was a delightful evening.
Great experience, good food.
The food was delicious and the service was terrific.
We blew it more than the restaurant. We have enjoyed the Manors wonderful dinning room in the past. We mistakenly thought we had booked the dinning room but found ourselves in the bar/lounge. A lovely room with about twenty chairs. The disappointment was the menu, just nice bar food. The dinning room is shut due to covid. Will say the soup of the day was excellent, the flat bread, marginal. Don’t go here if you think like we did, there is no dinner menu. The entire place was more of ghosts town than it’s typical spender. To hell with covid
Elegant, white tablecloth venue with impeccable service, decent wine list, imaginative interpretations of standard favorites. We started lunch with salt cod fritters which despite the word "salt" were not salty, yet they were flavorful. The peanut and remoulade sauces that accompanied the fritters were perfect flavors for the dish. Then we had the corn soup which was out of this world delicious. i could have had a gallon of it! I had a house salad for my entree--perfectly done--and my dining partner had beef stroganoff. The stroganoff was composed of house-made Campanile noodles, wild mushrooms, and petite tender pieces of flavorful beef. This was a truly remarkable meal.
The Terrace Room is cozy and there are just enough choices on the menu for everyone's tastes. The service was terrific and I recommend it for a special lunch--tucked away from the lobby, overlooking the beautiful terrace and grounds.
An outstanding meal served in a beautiful atmosphere. Our waiter could not have given us better advice on the meal we chose. It was a delightful beef stroganoff.
The dining experience was exactly what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant.
But of an old musty smell but amazing food.
Excellent food, service, and music. Dining on terrace was lovely.
Went for Sunday Brunch. The food was outstanding. Love the atmosphere - inside and out. Service was great. Would highly recommend.
Overall very disappointed...
The night before our reservation, my boyfriend and I were able to explore the hotel and see the restaurant on our way though Colonial Williamsburg. We were greeted at the door and offered a table right away. We very much enjoyed what we saw. We decided to return the next night dressed for the occasion and with a reservation to celebrate our anniversary.
When we arrived, the door greeter, (who’s name tag and uniform were covered) blankly stared at us as if we were supposed to know where to go. Once outside, we stood at the host stand for almost 5 minutes before an employee (who was not the host) asked if we needed any help and went to find the host instead of seating us.
Instead of cleaning off one of the 2-3 tables that were empty with cups on them, we were offered the only other table available by the door that had seating for 6.
It was another 5 minutes before the host happened to be walking by again and saw we didn’t have waters. She asked what looked like a manager to help us. Another few minutes before we even received waters.
It would have been less frustrating if we weren’t sat right next to the walk way were ALL of the waiters and even a manager had walked past us multiple times.
I did not feel like we were any kind of a priority to the staff.
I also have some food allergies that was hoping to speak to a manager about but at this point I was not confident that my order would have been taken seriously.
We were able to walk all the way across the restaurant and out the same front door without anyone asking why were leaving.
The decor was beautiful but the service was awful.
Due to COVID, the Terrace Room was quiet and few people were there eating. Donna graciously welcomed us and showed us around prior to our reservation. Prior to dinner, we sat outside on the back patio, enjoying drinks before our meal. Leesa was a wonderful server and our meals were excellent. We are recommending this to friends who may be heading to Williamsburg next month. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Loved the outside ambience with the warmth of table firepits. The food and drinks were outstanding! What a treat!
We enjoyed a delicious dinner al fresco under a lovely tent with good air flow, distanced seating and masked and gloved staff. The food was delicious and hot, notwithstanding the cool outdoor temperatures. All four of our family members raved about their selections. The steak frites was perfectly prepared. The burgers with a heavenly cheese fondue sauce and onion jam were remarkable and definitely worthy of a second visit. The trout filet with a crispy sorghum garnish was highly praised as delicious and unusual. The service was appropriately attentive and professional. We understand that the tented air can be heated in compliance with the Commonwealth's requirements for air flow, but we were comfortable without heat. Definitely recommend this spot for a wonderful dinner.
Sunday brunch not good value for money - overcooked meats. Better to have breakfast at cafe in town a couple blocks away. View is great and music on terrace. Maybe just drop by for a drink or coffee.
Michael O’Heir the restaurant manager sat us promptly and took our drink order because our server was busy at another table. We saw Michael bussing tables and running food to tables. His can-do attitude shows the care he has for customer service. He wasn’t “too good” to do anything which required attention. He is an asset to your team. Food quality was outstanding.
Amazing brunch! Treat yourself to a classic atmosphere with delicious food and service. Do not miss this experience when you visit Williamsburg!
We sat outside and had a nice dinner over all. Really the only problem was how slow the service was, and I don't think it was our server. It's not as if he made any mistakes or did anything directly wrong, he was just never around. There was also a wedding going on and it seemed as if there might have been some staffing issues. Everyone's service in the restaurant, (which was not full), was painfully slow. There was a complete lack of staff.
WARNING ⚠️ HIT OT MISS
Two weeks ago, we had AMAZING SERVICE AND FOOD.
This visit, our service was INDIFFERENT. Slow and no concern for our enjoyment--- yes, this is dining out and hospitality.
We ate out under the tent. Everything was fine until the rain and wind started blowing. Our food was very tasty, but luke warm.
Overall a nice experience....
Best burger I have ever had. Delightful atmosphere on the patio overlooking golf course. Attentive service.
Superlative dining experience! Best chicken salad ever. The aerated Gouda fondue on the burger elevated the simple fare. Creative, delicious cocktails and impeccable service.
Great sunday breakfast. The atmosphere is very classy
AWESOME
great service and food - they got it together
enjoy 😉
food was average, view was blocked, waitress was sweet,
We choose this restaurant for our first night in Williamsburg thinking it was upscale. We dressed for dinner- what a joke
It is outside dining and the menu is very strange. We all we’re thinking a filet but not on the menu. I guess due to Covid the menu is different or we selected the wrong restaurant.
The food we ordered was very good. My friend and I ordered the hangar steak and it was tasty. My husband had the trout and it came out with the head on. In our experience the server usually mentions this and gives you the option of having it removed. Service was very slow
Overall we liked our experience and the food. It was not at all what we expected
We were very disappointed. We booked the Terrace Room expecting a fine dinner appropriate to a 5 star restaurant. When we finally found the check in desk, we were directed to a table in a tent outside and given a bar food menu.
We would have felt better if we had been warned about the seating and menu in advance, but there was no indication when we made the reservation that the restaurant was not providing their usual service.
We have thoroughly enjoyed dinners at the Inn in the past, but we cannot recommend the Terrace Room at present.
Wonderful outdoor ambience on the Social Terrace. Great but unobtrusive service, delicious and innovative sharing style dishes and perfect outdoor views. Andrew was a particular standout in terms of service. Loved everything.
Incredible food quality & presentation. The g&t was too pretty to drink! Service and ambiance world class!!
We booked the Terrace Room expecting a very nice dinner appropriate to a 5 star hotel. We had to sit outside in tent and eat bar food.
Very lovely (but expensive) brunch. Food was good. Plenty of food.
