My Friend was equally pleased w the dining experience! We will B back! It’s such a relief 2 B in a quiet eatery where we can have a conversation & hear each other! Nice service, 2!

Enjoyed the visit to Basilic. The food was good. Service was a little slow on a weekend night that didn't appear to be particularly busy.

Lovely service, low key, quiet & good eats, reasonably priced

We arrived on time for a 6pm reservation. At 6:50 having been served nothing but one appetizer we cancelled the rest of our dinner order, paid for the appetizer, and left. Servers were friendly but service was terrible. We would strongly advise against eating there unless one has unlimited time to wait.

The level 4 spice was just right for me but could have been hotter.

Can't technically rate the food as we had to leave before it arrived. Our reservation was for 6 pm and we arrived on time. No one was there to greet us and after waiting 15 minutes at the entry, we approached a worker who handed food to those waiting for to-go orders. We were finally shown to our table. There appeared to be only 2 waitresses for the dining room. After 15 minutes, someone stopped and took our order. We each ordered a glass of wine, an entree and asked for water. She brought us water but not the wine, and she came from the bar! Ten minutes later, she returned to the table and asked my daughter if her order was tofu or chicken. I watched her then go to the computer in the bar and realized she had not even put in our order. And she left the bar again without delivering our wine! After waiting a full 55 minutes without food or drinks, we got up and left to get to the ballet. We had watched this waitress run through the dining room with empty hands all evening. People who came after us had their food and drinks. I counted only 9 tables, mostly two tops, so it wasn't that busy. Will never go there again.

We had been to Basilic previously (it is one of the restaurants we frequent before the opera). Since our last visit ownership has changed. The new owners have chosen not to hold a license to sell spirits. Beer and wine are available but choices are limited.

Much as we enjoyed the food and service, we will likely not return until spirits are available - and the wine list expands.

Basilic has been my favorite spot before events at McCaw Hall. However, it is very obviously in the midst of an ownership change that left us feeling like we were awkwardly stuck in a disorganized dress rehearsal. They deserve a second chance, which I will give them. However, service issues (especially communicating with customers) will need lots of attention. I hope things shake out soon.

Great Service and Staff

I went to Basilic with my wife and a friend to have dinner before a classical music concert at the McCaw Hill hall.

While the food is delicious and it is good value for your money, the service was poor.
There were only two waiters offering service that day, and they could not properly serve everyone. It took them 45 minutes to bring the food to our table.

I understand they were overwhelmed by the amount of people that were in the restaurant. However, I think they should foresee these cases and only open the amount of tables they are able to serve.

I will come back, but on a less-busy time.

This was our first time at Basilic and chose it due to convenience to Memorial Stadium for our granddaughter's graduation. We had a large party of 8 people and were all extremely pleased with the food and the service.

I love Basilic. I get the Braised Angus Rib with red curry. It’s a great dish and the curry is fabulous.

Not great food. Close to Mccaw hall though. There were plenty of open tables. I didn't love the sauces, nor the pad Thai.

We were attending an event at the Seattle Center. This was a perfect place for an informal dinner that was presented very well and the food was outstanding. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I've tried twice and won't be back.

This is a prime pre-show location and the service is simply dreadful. I've been eating around this side of the center for over 30 years and this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.
The server(s) don't check the tables and appear to be hiding in the back for fear that someone might ask for something.
There were about 12 folks seated.
6:07 Arrive and water is served
6:17 Same server asks if we would like a drink
6:25 App and rice for main meal arrive
6:48 Waiter stops by and we ask where the food is.
6:53 Lukewarm food arrives, it pairs nicely with the now cold rice - ask for check
7:00 The check arrives and then disappears while a $1.18 discount is applied
7:05 Out the door - for good.

If this had been the old Thai Heaven crew they would have turned the table 3 times.
It's a bummer but there is no way this place makes it unless they up their game.

Great place to catch a bite or drink before a show at McCaw Hall. The service was friendly, the food and cocktails very good. Accommodating for families and you can choose the level of the foods spiciness.

Very pleasant. Food was very good and fresh-tasting, and not only all the usual things. For instance, first time I've even seen portabello mushrooms on a Thai menu (and with broccoli and chicken and seasonings - they were terrific!)

Good Thai food ! We enjoyed our lunch here. The Phad Thai tasted more like the dish we get in Thailand than most Seattle Thai restaurants. We also had a nice lamb curry which was a daily special with a nice tang of tamarind to it.

Yes, we will return again and again.

Your food is always wonderful but there usually seems to be a lag once we are seated at the table before the menu or suggestions for a beverage are made.

A concern as to whether food will arrive in time for usual events at Seattle Center often occurs, but the food is worth waiting for!

Comfortable, laid-back restaurant where we were assured there'd be plenty of time to get to the opera.

Service wasn't great. Trying to make it to the theater and they kept overlooking us.

Went there with our 6 year old boys for a Saturday dinner. We liked the intimate setting, and were thrilled with the food. Even though they don't have a kids menu our boys chowed on the orange chicken and chicken pad thai. The beef was really yummy, too, the only dish not quite up to par was, ironically, the daily special, sea bass, which was overdone and also a bit uninspired. Service was great, very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you!

We were back and loved our dinner.

Christmas special event, Nutcracker Ballet.

I stopped in with my daughters for a pre-ballet meal. The service was nice but the food wasn't as good as I expected. Salad special of shrimp and avocado was overdressed and the noodles were gummy. It wasn't all that busy and I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, it was only average.

Good, solid Thai food. They need to up their bar game, though. The night I was there, the one bartender they have was off sick. Nobody else knew how to make even the most basic of cocktails. The wine list is pathetic.

Fabulous authentic Thai food, great location to walk to the McCall Hall to see a show.

I love this Thai restaurant. It is in a cute old house. It has interesting and delicious cocktails. When you make a reservation they put a little reserved card on your table with your name on it. You really feel special! Besides the food is excellent!

Food was modern and the service was great. We went before the performance at the McCaw Hall. Wine pours were amazingly generous. This will be on our list of pre-performance dinner eats.

This was our first visit to Basilic and we'll be back. We have had Thai food in many restaurants in Puget Sound and we found Basilic to be the best overall Thai experience we had. One of the challenging things, yet very basic, about getting the Thai food you want is having an accurate idea of how spicy the food is going to be when you give the 1-5 star order to your server. We had a lemongrass marinated chicken wing appetizer and also some Thai short ribs. Both were 3 stars and were spiced accordingly. We would do the ribs again but the Chicken wings were a little bland for our taste. We followed that with a 4 star Tom Yum soup and it was definitely 4 stars but loaded with flavor. Finally we finished with Sesame Honeyed Beef at 3 stars and the sweetness and the heat provided a good contrast. The wine list is small but pretty good. My Lone comment would be to add a Riesling to it because of the natural compliment between that and Thai food.

I have dined at Basilic twice and the food was great each time. Every selection has been authentic and reminds me of my trips to Thailand. I am definitely going back!

Went here for an early dinner before the opera with my 80 year old mother. The portions are generous - we each got an entree and decided in the future we would share one. Nice ambiance with meals served on antique china and nice jazz music background. Service attentive. We will definitely return another time!

Lovely meal. The Tom Yum Soup was spiced just right, as was the lamb green curry. Learn moo salad was very nice also; all orders served two more than amply. Friendly, interested service. Will definitely return!

Great option before/after performances at McCaw Hall. We have gone back several times and will continue returning.

Everything was very tasty! It was pretty relaxed inside, which we like. Things were on the spicy side but they did warn us.

BEST Thai food Ever!!! All the dishes we ordered were excellent. Lovely service.
