The Bell at Ramsbury
Excellent service and the dining room was comfortable and spacious. My first and main courses were both absolutely delicious, however, my treacle tart was a bit dry, perhaps overcooked. Overall a most enjoyable dinner with friends.
Beautiful experience in fabulous ambient surroundings, matched with a excellent food and wine. Staff were very warm, welcoming and professional. A gem of a pub!
Great food and service, and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back
This is my local - I live in the village. I understand there is a new chef so maybe teething issues. Ordered chicken pie - arrived looking like a small pork pie horribly overcooked and very dry but just edible. Pudding menu had treacle tart which is always a must. Sadly it could have been used for Kevlar.
On the plus side the manager was very apologetic and surprisingly removed the cost of both items from the bill without saying a word.
Historically the food was alway wonderful here (if rather expensive) so was rather disappointing
A lovely relaxing pub with great food and really good staff, friendly yet professional. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped in the door, dogs are welcome (in the pub area not the dining room). A pleasant buzz of conversation never rose to an intrusive level and the whole experience was excellent
The menu was not confusingly long, indicating a preference by The Bell to concentrate well on producing delicious food exceedingly well presented.
Food is likely to satisfy most tastes.
We had a fantastic time celebrating our son's birthday. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. Nice personal touch with the addition of 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate on my son's pudding plate.
Starter nibbles very tasty; my plaice good size and well cooked. Bit modest on greens and sauté potatoes. My wife’s cod was a bit small and the white beans in tomato sauce were too close to baked beans! Plus no real chorizo flavour. Strawberry marquise very good; nice staff; lovely setting.
Standard dropped. Not quite what it used to be. Sunday Roast Beef meal very small portions with just one small slice of beef. Limited choice of starters. Cod bites nothing more than glorified fish fingers. Admittedly, trying times post covid, but was expecting better.
Amazing meal and fantastic, polite and friendly staff - perfect!!
Absolutely lovely food. And the staff were very attentive and friendly.
Would highly recommend.
A lovely village pub. The food was delicious and well-presented. A very good experience overall, highly recommended.
Great food at a reasonable price, decorations excellent but room dominated by a noisy table.
The Bell is a warm, and welcoming Inn. The interior is light, spacious and tastefully decorated. Great staff who are duly attentive. The lunch menu is varied with a good range of starters, mains and puddings. The food was perfectly cooked and well presented. I was very impressed and will definitely eat there again.
Amazing food in a village setting. Highly recommend fish and chips. Pies are so flavorful. Desserts are well worth the calories. We found this on the Michelin app on our way to Wales ftom London. We returned two weeks later on our way back because it was that good.
An excellent lunch. The waiting staff took time to find a low calorie non alcoholic drink, that wasn’t coke. The food was of a high standard particularly the puddings. The Chef obviously knows his pastry. The menu was short but more than adequate. We will go again.
Excellent menu (Saturday lunch) and the food really hit the spot. The service was very efficient and friendly. This is a beautiful pub/restaurant. No problems parking.
Usually we love The Bell! But this time it was very poor from the food to the service, they have no manager at the moment and I suspect a new chef, such a shame.
Good service, helpful staff and really good classic food
Great use of local produce beautifully presented. Lovely service as well. Thanks
Absolutely delicious. Would recommend without any hesitation
The The 2 waitresses were a delight
Congratulations to the chef and his staff.
Lovely location, a very smart pub, offering excellent friendly service.
A better choice of food than most places in current covid affected conditions.
Service from novice waitress fine.
Flat iron steak ordered medium to well
Raw with blood
Put under some sort of blowtorch
Charred extremities leaving interior still raw
No sign of management
After 10 minutes , long after my dining partner food was cooling, offer of another main.
No management apologises.
No attempt at offset.
Still spent over £70
Serious customer service issues.
Really disappointed. We came in at Christmas 2020 and the meal was very good. Assuming a new chef now and our burger/bun and steak was burnt and smelt burnt. We told our waitress and assume she did not pass on our come t? Our waitresses were not good. Very very disappointed considering location and good history. I feel the pub had gone very downhill with no soul to it.
Late Sunday roast pork and beef lunch which was excellent, also the Thai salad had just enough heat for tingling lips afterwards.
The restaurant was quiet and a little background music would add to the atmosphere.
The waitress was pleasant but a smile and some enthusiasm wouldn't go a miss.
Excellent meal and excellent service. Have waited a long time to go and will definitely be returning.
Beautiful village pub/restaurant. Excellent foos as usual
Very enjoyable food and wine although felt the starter (whitebait) was rather over cooked. Mains both very good.
Staff were great and the food excellent. Looking forward to next time!
Friendly and attentive staff with good quality food.
Our meal was OK but nothing special. My beer was cloudy but I was told it was acceptable. Service was good. Surroundings were fine. Probably won’t return.
Excellent Sunday roast with good local ale and friendly staff
Another great meal at The Bell! Love the menu as there is always something different. Fortunately the lamb rump is a staple main course, thank goodness, my absolute favourite
Over priced menu, and very small food portions. Service and staff was flawless
Enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch at The Bell, Ramsbury. Highly recommend the Whitebait starter, and the delicious Roast Beef - excellent sized portions.
Service was fantastic from start to finish, look forward to returning again soon.
Excellent food, and very good service. Rain drove us in from the garden to cafe area, which was nice and quiet in these covid times....
We booked well in advance arrived to find ourselves sat next to the only other booked table. There was no attempt to space diners out.
Food was very average there is little I would recommend though the service was friendly and efficient.
Not a restaurant I would bother to visit again.
unfortunately my starter with a Burrata , well the Burrata was non existent and had a piece of Burrata rather than a whole one . I love Burrata so this was very disappointing .
my Hake was tasteless ,and potatoes undercooked . My husbands burger was dry rather than juicy .
Food was ok, perfectly acceptable, but nothing special given the price. The waitress got two of our drinks orders wrong but otherwise the service was good. Nice people and location but overall a disappointing experience for the high price. We will not be returning given the excellent choices nearby.
A wonderful Saturday lunch. Super accommodating with our 10 month old. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was just as perfect. The food isn't cheap however it is certainly a you pay for what you get. We will be back!
